And, these have all been very legit, high caliber productions and casting directors that have seen me because of him. In such a short amount of time he has gotten me auditions for network series regulars, major studio films, and national campaign commercials. Since Elton began representing me, I have been getting auditions and callbacks multiple times from the same casting directors. This is evidence that we have been building a good rapport with them. I have been seen by many casting directors that I have never been selected by before. That is a testament to the trust that they have in Elton's submissions. It is quite obvious to me that he has a great name in the industry, and I am so happy to be a part of his client list, because of this. Not to mention, he is just a genuine and good person, who treats his clients like family. Especially, during this slow time and uncertainty in the business, he is still bringing in excellent opportunities, which speaks for itself.

What to say about Jeff Olan? He is one of the best in the business. He has heart and shows a…read moregreat understanding of what extras go through. He and Gil are very involved with their productions, showing up on set, and they seem to know how to deal with any problems. Once there was a problem on a smaller budget production, but he made sure extras were paid-- he went the extra mile. On the casting side, he gets quality talent, actors doing national commercials, guest star roles, etc. One of the productions he cast was featured in the LA Times, with many photos of extras, to the title 'dapper extras'. On the philanthropy side-- he is an actor and gives helpful advice and encouragement to aspiring actors. He was involved for many years with an annual film festival, which gave actors and directors a chance to be seen and get noticed. His casting service is really well-run. If you are cast, you are often given a chance to confirm with your call-in service. That's something few c.d.s will do. The reason why I don't give 5 stars is I'd like to see online submitting. Nobody likes to tell a casting director they are unavailable. For extras availability is always changing. Sometimes you submit for something earlier in the day, only to get booked before the c.d. can get back to you. Having a way to communicate your availability online would be very useful. Also, extras could add specialty photos and a small bio. Finally, if you're not getting booked, don't worry. Keep trying. It takes time. Once they get to know you and you develop some rapport, you will get more opportunities. If you aren't registered yet, new registration does open up from time to time. If it does open up, seize the opportunity.

Been wantin' to write this piece for a while actually...... If you're lookin' to make some extra…read moredough, plannin' on becomin' the next big superstar in hollywood, or just want to get paid to sit on your ass all day than look no farther.... Cause a life as a background extra is just around the corner! I've been with Jeff Olan castin' since about early Sept 2010. They were the first people that I worked with and have had much success with them thus far that is why I'm excited to Boast. ***If you're new to bein' an extra or thinkin' about signnin' up with them. Just take the plunge. It's a one time fee of $25 bones. You take a headshot and you're in their data base. You call their number and you see what's available and if the producers like their look they will book. It's pretty self-explanatory. Castin' agents: Jeff Olan, Ryan, Milton, Gil, and Vera.. Each individual has their unique style on the phone but Shows: Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Medium, and Hard times of RJ Berger... (They occasionally have other projects but this is the most consistent. I feel that as an individual of color (Someone who isn't white) especially in Hollyweird can be very very discouraging at times. If you notice on set... The cast and crew is very pre-dominating white. However, you can't let that stop you from achieving your dreams. I feel that through all the casting agents and and calling services Jeff Olan is definitely the most friendly and in terms of caterin to individuals who aren't white such as myself and others. Also, not to knock other places such as Sandi Alessi and Central which are good. But the success rate is just so much harder to get booked and like everything they do pick a lot of favorites. So you gotta try your luck. ***I've gotten 2 sag vouchers from them and even Jeff Olan often times leaves things on the line and shows up on set to see how his extras are doing. In addition, he often leaves some heart-felt messages about life which can be cheesy but I do appreciate the sentiment.... So whether you're tryin' to break into actin' or doing this as a part time gig. If you're lookin' for a place to start I'd suggest Jeff Olan. Cheers and don't forget to leave your name and repeat your number twice so they can contact you.

Joey's List is great!…read more He's the best in the business when it comes to calling/listing services. When I first started acting and I wanted to be on set, I heard about Joey's List through a mutual friend. He booked me on several jobs. He was always professional, and he works hard for his clients. Consider yourself lucky if you are able to secure a union spot on his roster.

I liked the whole online scheduling aspect of the service, and even liked how you can add extra photos free of charge. For the most part it started of good... but then a month and a half went by and I had been booked 3 times. I wouldn't have thought anything of it, because I book myself plenty, but the fact I was almost always available and had only a couple restrictions but wasnt getting much from his site was a bit frustrating. What really frustrated me was my friends telling me how their services were booking them 3 or 4 days a week sometimes, and considering we have similar looks, it just didnt make sense that I wasnt being booked. I know Joey worked at Central and has many ties still to Central, and he considers his business a listing service not a booking service because he understands how annoying it is to be on the other side and getting calls about "book my client" but it just didnt work for me. I emailed him personally, he called and emailed me back, got defensive which is understandable because its his business, just felt like it was in bad taste to be aggressive about it, rather than try and suggest a solution. He did mention May, June and July are slow months, which make sense, but like i said earlier plenty of my friends are getting booked with their services ( not here to pitch anyone else) in this same time frame. He was kind enough to refund me my money for this month... I will be taking that money and switching over to one of the other services. Over all good learning experience, not so good booking experience.

First off, I booked a great commercial and I was making some really good money. According to SAG rules, he has 30 days to pay me once he receives checks on my behalf. There is also a time-line for which production companies are required to pay for projects. Anyway, I only found out that he was floating checks b/ca I was working in the office and found a check stub for around $2400 which I found by total accident. I was searching for checks for one of his major clients that booked a lot which he had advised me to do whatever needed if she called. So, I was doing whatever I could to help her. That's when I found my check stub that was 3 months old. Finally, I confronted Jon, the owner, and he went crazy on me and accused me of snooping. Needless to say, it took me a couple months before I could find another commercial agent. I have never said anything about this until now b/ca I have always feared that the industry would persecute me. However, I think it's time that people know what Jon is about. Keep good records people or you could lose money that you have worked hard to get. Oh, Jon did finally pay me for the missing check. However, I never trusted him again.
