I am so happy that I have *finally* found a place to workout that I am legit obsessed with…read more.. Hotworx has only been around for about a year, so not for very long. They offer the option to come in and try a free class, and that was what I did. Their staff were very friendly, answered all of my questions, and were available via text. After trying the first class, I signed up right then - I had such a great time! Hortworx is a facility that offers infrared sauna workouts - yoga, pilates, cycling, rowing.... a LOT of options, so it doesn't feel redundant. The saunas can fit up to 3 people, but after coming in regularly I've noticed that most people prefer to book during an empty time, so you will almost always have it to yourself (and I LOVE that!) To be honest, if it ever got to a point where I had to share a sauna with 2 other people it probably wouldn't be enjoyable, but it doesn't seem like they are ever that crowded. The saunas have TVs that show recorded workouts for you do follow on your own. It varies by workout, but each session is offered every 30-45 minutes and is open to members 24 hours a day. There are staffed hours, but when the staff is not there, you are given a door code to let yourself in. Another thing I love... the independence. I feel like I can come in at my own time and don't ever feel like anyone is hovering over me. There is also a small gym section where you can use weights and other equipment. The sauna workouts are very enjoyable. This was my first time trying 'hot' workouts, so I was a bit nervous at first but I adapted quickly. Not only do I feel like I'm getting a good workout, but the saunas have helped detox my body and make me feel amazing after each session. Pricing was another huge factor that lured me in. For $60 a month, I feel like having an unlimited variety of workouts is TOTALLY worth it. You do have to purchase their bamboo mat, but again, I still felt like it was worth it and it is a very nice quality. There is also a premium membership, $70 a month, where you can visit any location and have a 'virtual personal trainer' on their app. I'm really happy with Hortworx and can't wait to keep working out here.

They've now changed their name, but if you're smart you'll stay away from the shoddy business…read morepractice I encountered here. The owner(?) Rob and I spoke on the phone and he told me one price. I paid the first and last month of that quoted price by card then. The next day he sent me an agreement that stated an almost 1,000 fee would be charged as well. When i discussed this with him he stated the fee would not be charged, but he sent me another agreement with the same fee listed in it. At that time I declined membership and asked for a refund. I've never stepped foot in the building and didn't feel comfortable doing so at that point because I felt lied to and like we had started on a bad foot due to Rob asking me to put my credit card back on file and me declining. I felt like he was frustrated with me at that point so I felt uncomfortable.

Quick rundown: Fun, challenging workouts…read more Great community. Slow walk-up: I had attended a few group (pack) workouts with specials or Yelp events. I enjoyed them very much but the cost of the gym was just too much for me. And honestly, it still is. But I got sucked in by a sponsored Facebook ad for a free 6-week coaching course that included workouts at BAREfit. Color me intrigued. I won't say much about the coaching program because...well, I hated it. It was NOT "free" and there were many things I hated about it. But the workouts at BAREfit...turns out, I well and truly love those! So at the end of the 6-week program, I had the option to either do another six weeks for no extra cost (no thank you) or I could transfer my credit to the gym to continue workouts. YES PLEASE to that. So with my credit transferred over, I got about 2ish months of unlimited classes before my money runs out (I think...I don't know for sure because the program coach/owner never sent me any specific information about when it runs out...). I am 1.5 months in to that and I still freaking love the classes! The trainers are all wonderful, knowledgeable and happy to provide modifications up or down to any move you are doing, and encouraging. They are eager to show you any move you aren't familiar with, and give you tips to better perform them during the class. The workouts are interesting and different and certainly challenge you. I did not lose weight during the coaching program, but I have been able to see and feel how I am getting stronger through the workouts. I am able to do certain activities for longer without stopping and I have been able to level up on the amount of weight I use for things. I have been telling people that the pack workouts here are like crossfit lite. And some people are there to get PRs and beef up. I am there because I have yet to get bored by it! I am going to make it feel like work, but I don't have to kill myself to beat anyone else but myself. It works so that Mondays and Tuesdays are "Push Days" and they work the front part of your body, Wednesdays and Thursdays are "Pull Days" and they work the back part of your body, and Fridays and Saturdays are "Whim Days" where there is an obstacle course circuit and a core/agility circuit that you go through 3 times each. Every day is a FULL BODY workout. My whole everything is sore after a visit here, but in the best way. And I am happy to push myself and try new things...and modify from there when I am not up to snuff yet (like...box jumps...I keep trying and will keep trying, but my shins are made of bruises and then I do step up instead :-P). I am genuinely not looking forward to my credit running out at the gym because BAREfit is located very conveniently to me, and I really am enjoying my time there. If you have the expendable income for boutique-y gyms, this one is fun and different. Definitely not budget friendly. But the community and atmosphere is so wonderful...it really does a lot to make the experience enjoyable!

She covers many aspects of yoga for body, mind and spirit. I learn something new about my practice and about yoga every time I go. Her classes have a personal touch and a genuine care for health and well-being. The classes are thoughtfully composed but also playful and fun. I leave feeling great after every class. The beginners class is actually my favorite. I think this class is great even if you've been practicing yoga for a while. These classes are slower paced and really focus on feeling for the alignment in the posture. It brings you back to the basics but you are still able to take the posture to whatever level you are comfortable with. The all levels classes are also great. They are faster paced than the beginners and incorporate a larger variety of poses. I highly recommend this studio based on enjoyment and results from how my body feels since I've been going. I always look forward to my next class.

So Infinite Bliss doesn't have a ton of younger students in our 20s and 30s, nor a ton of men. But…read moreit absolutely should! I found Infinite Bliss (IB) in my early 20s (in it's previous location) and I am now in my early 30s and I can't say how much I love this studio and how much it's influenced me! The teacher's here are extremely knowledgeable and so so kind. It's a really different style of yoga than the Ashtanga style and it's modern offshoots (vinyasa, power yoga). Basically infinite bliss yoga is really strengthening and warming but it also super focused on alignment which keeps your super safe and helps prevent injury. If you're like me you like to push yourself and engage to the best of your ability. I've had yoga teachers encourage me to blow past my bodies natural limits, and that left me with injuries that set back my yoga practice and daily life. Not so at infinite bliss, the teachers here are really well educated and have an eye for alignment. But they will instruct you to do certain poses in a different way than most teachers and studios. They keep alignment in focus at all times but also take you into more advanced poses both warming strength-building poses and also lots of inversion and arm balances. So fun, a great community to learn in. I really can't say how much I love this studio! Now I've gone on to become a yoga teacher, and while I don't teach here (I live out of town now), I am soooo glad this studio was part of my yogic education. I still come back to learn and practice when I am in town! The classes cost a little more than some studios, but this helps support a living wage for the teachers and it is worth every penny, truly! They also have a rich foundation in yogic philosophy, particularly in tantric yoga philosophy which teaches you to the see the good in yourself and everyone. The owner, Denise, is a seriously superb yogini and teacher! I seruously can't say enough how wonderful this studio is. It's also a rare gem because it's an Anusara yoga studio. Back in the 90s and early 00s Anusara swept across the western world with many 100s of studios, but there was a scandal at the tip top of the school and now there are hardly any schools left. Less than a dozen in the entire US, and we have one right here in Louisville, KY I love infinite bliss, and more younger yogis should come!
