I was injured in a scooter accident where a fence from a construction site fell on me. I had lacerations on my wrists, back and head. I sustained a concussion and a huge gash that needed to be stitched up on my wrist and taken by ambulance to a hospital. Seems like a good time to call a lawyer right? I haven't had any experience in a situation like this and when looking up PIA's, the cyclist part got me. Came in and got handled by this attorney, Christine who barely greeted me before going over the preliminary paperwork, gathering info on what happened. She didn't ask me my name until well into filling the stuff out and had the personality of a rock. I told her I didn't know anything about this process and usually that's a cue to break things down so everyone is on the same page. She was as curt as possible and I left the office with a bad taste in my mouth. I get a welcome packet that stated I should contact the firm when I'm going to a doctor appointment so I call in to let them know. I speak to Christine and say who I am. She immediately tells me that "we've looked at your case and we can't help you." Then literally stopped right there. I'm like um.... can I get some sort of explanation? I was willing to overlook the lack of charisma and welcome feelings because I thought she must be a terminator in the courtroom, which would be a good thing, but it boiled down to they either aren't creative enough to prove fault (when a fence falls on me while i'm minding my own business) or I just can't make them enough money to justify those e-mails and phone calls they have to make to collect FORTY PERCENT of the judgement. Heaven forbid you have to have her try and sell a jury. She'll get zero sympathy from them on your behalf and you'll get zero sympathy from her. If you don't want to take the case cause it's not a financial boon then just say so. Meanwhile, it's been over two weeks and I still can't use my right hand, have to see a therapist because of the stress/trauma related flashbacks and can barely work due to the loss of mobility in my wrist. So much for no lingering effects. If you're gonna call an ambulance chaser, find a better vehicle to chase in. ****update**** As Lenore clearly posted in her response we had a conversation yesterday. She reached out and we had a pleasant conversation. Addressed everything in my post and seemed to have an understanding. Then this morning she comes out with this unhinged response. The sexist tone of her response is unappreciated. I never made any sort of comment on gender. This basically proves why I would be better served elsewhere. Instead of looking at a critique of her business and employees, she looks at as a way to attack and be defensive. Good riddance read more

I have reason to believe that many of these reviews are fake because my experience with Lenore Shefman has been nothing but unpleasant. I called this law firm looking for representation a little while back, however, my injury prevented me from being able to speak properly. This lawyer who prizes herself on professionalism, respect, and courtesy, completely shut me down when I was trying to speak and did not bother to try to understand what I was trying to say. This person raised her voice at me in an extremely patronizing way when I was attempting to describe my experience. First off, a very big THANK YOU to Lenore!!! You know all those misconceptions you typically have about lawyers - you know the ones... "Why don't sharks eat lawyers?" "Because they don't eat their own kind!" Well, I can wholeheartedly tell you that Lenore is by far the most honest, up-front and gracious lawyer - and you thought they didn't exist!! I normally never leave bad reviews, but this place and its service is so awful I feel inclined to let the nearby community know just how malicious and rude the main lawyer, Ms. Shefman, really is. My daughter got into a vehicular accident some time ago and we called looking for a skilled lawyer to help her file suit. Talking to Lenore Shefman was fine in the beginning, however, whilst the ongoing investigation, Ms. Shefman began displaying extremely rude and judgmental behavior toward my daughter, even going so far as to say "you keep whining like a little girl" and "your injuries are bush league compared to other people I've represented, so man up." My daughter was injured to the point where she was in the hospital for a decent amount of time. Yet these injuries are not good enough for the lawyer who signed up to defend her in court. This is a horrible attorney who is aggressively rude to both staff and clients. I recommend looking elsewhere for more stable representation. read more

Woo Hoo! An attorney who's not a b**ch but 'bitchin' Lenore came into my life when my partner fell into a manhole left uncovered in our neighborhood. If you've been hurt in a cycling accident, you NEED to get in touch with Lenore. About two years ago I was badly injured when I was struck from behind on my bike while waiting at a red light, by a guy with no car insurance who was allowed to drive away without so much as a ticket. Meanwhile I was in and out of consciousness in an ambulance on my way to the hospital. Once the pain began to subside weeks later, I was left wondering: am I going to receive any compensation for my hospital bills, time lost from work, totalled bike, etc. from the person who did this to me, who didn't even bother to get out of their car when they catapulted me into the middle of Airport Rd.? The police don't seem to care about what happened to me at all, so will there be ANY justice served for this? It's disappointing when an attorney sells you on their ability to represent you after you've had a traumatic injury, and they fail to represent their client to the utmost of their professional responsibilities. That was my experience with Shefman Law. Ms. Shefman failed to communicate with me the most basic of information, including the fact that she actually filed the lawsuit with the court Clerk, in my name against the defendant, and never told me, or provided me a copy of the petition until months after the fact. Moreover, during the deposition of the defendant, she gets into an argument with defense counsel, making allegations against the attorney and co-counsel of defamation that boarders on a breach of Shefman's ethical responsibility. I'm really disappointed, but a lesson learned on my part. read more

When your involved in an accident and your inured, the last thing you want to do is spend your day shuffling through "the wrong & right" attorneys. I decided to try yelp based on previous reviews for other things and came accross Shefman Law Group. I thought I would obtain the same courtesy as the other reviewers, which now I'm starting to question if they are fake reviews since my experience with them had been less than poor. When I did get a hold of the attorney to obtain advise from her as to whether or not she would take my case, she rushed me through the details which I hardly got to say a thing and then she rudely cut me off and stated she would call me later when she had time. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. To sum it up, found a new Lawyer; not through yelp this time, and he's awesome, very professional and knowledgeable at what he does. He makes time to listen to his clients and made me feel comfortable in signing a contract for his services. Even though this is a straight forward case, I'm glad she didn't call back, otherwise I would have never met the other attorney. I would never recommend this firm to any one at all! On 9/19/2014 I had a major fall at HEB in Pflugerville and looked on yelp to see which individual was recommended for a personal lawyer when I called the office the front desk lady could not even give me any tips on what to do! I was never rude at just could not understand why a law form that was so highly recommended treat a possible new client very disgusting! My wife was listening to the whole phone call as was the ER staff and they were very surprised that I was being treated like I was GUILTY before even knowing the facts! Since the fall I now have torn tendons and muscles that can only come from a very bad fall from what the ER doctor said as well I'm not able to even walk at the moment due to swelling in my feet from what I gather would be from the fall as well. If this individual is such a good lawyer then it would be a slam dunk for her my understanding is the person is just SCRED to take on an outfit like HEB! I was told that I was very rude and I have to disagree, I never yelled threaten or said anything that would be offensive at all! I have many witnesses to the fact of this incident and if you would like to ask your assistant she was just laughing with me just before you called me!! If you have a change of HEART well you know my number we can discuss this like adults!!! Just wanted to publicly brag on the fact that my lawyer and her team are complete badasses, I went to see her months ago with a broken neck, broken ribs and a severed spirit. I had about $50,000 dollars in medical bills, I had no plan and no way out and had no idea what my insurance could offer and I was getting pressured by them to sign off on my expenses right away. I had no money to fund any type of physical therapy or treatment, and the insurance from the motorcycle coverage only covered about half of my expenses. I was ready to consider bankruptcy and completely deal with the fact that I was going to have to live with the physical pain of my accident without any further treatment. I was highly skeptical of lawyers and insurance companies and just wanted to hide and not deal with any of it, I had already had personal debt and wasn't at all in a place where I could try to pay off more debt.When I met with Lenore she was not only straight forward, personable but she came across almost maternal and protective of me and my injuries that she won my complete trust from the start. She wasn't after money and she didn't treat me like a dollar sign. She helped me get out of my slump by helping believe there was hope to get out of hole- financially, physically, and mentally. I came to her not expecting much help if any and she quickly allowed me to belief that there was plenty of help for my injuries.Her and her team completely exceeded my expectations from what was shaping out to be the worst year ever has quickly turned around. After months of not receiving any treatment I was able to start physical therapy, chiropractic work, and start getting massages to help with the excruciating pain I witnessed in my back and neck.
