This review could be pages and pages long given the amount of work and consideration that Mr. Nunis has done on behalf of my mother's situation. I can say that Mr. Nunis has gone above and beyond what I would have expected of any attorney. Mr. Nunis took our case over 5 years ago and for all that time he applied his extensive expertise and worked tirelessly to ensure that my mother's interests were protected and preserved. My mother is elderly and incapacitated with an inability to walk so I became her Power of Attorney to help her through this ordeal. Her legal issues began when an arsonist set her home on fire, she lost everything she owned - clothes, mementos, furniture - everything. And if that wasn't horrible enough to go through, the general contractor hired to repair her home saw her as an opportunity to fleece for extra money above the insurance payout by doing subpar work and materials, claiming "upgrades" to the property, and causing further damage beyond the extensive damage caused by the fire. We were forced to endure years of attempted legal issues and non-responses for repairs from the contractor and through this entire 5 year time Mr. Nunis was there for us. When the costs became too great for my mother to endure, again, Mr. Nunis arranged a payment plan to make sure that she would not lose her home, the only asset she has left, simply because she could not afford to defend herself. As of today, this issue is finished and settled only because of the tireless efforts of Mr. Nunis. I cannot recommend Mr. Nunis enough to anyone who needs someone to stand up for you when you need it the most. I wish that I could award zero stars. In their description they declare that "At Nunis & Associates our goal is to provide the aggressive and professional representation that our clients need and deserve." Such a statement could never considered to be true in the context of the experience that I have had with them. It took no less than $4,000 to convince my counsel that we were not in a permission seeking arrangement with opposing counsel. Spent 6 weeks of my time and $4300 of my money to ultimately fire them and seek different counsel. Go elsewhere first. We needed an responsible and considerate professional law firm to represent us in an eviction. The firm assigned us to an attorney who understood our situation, was caring and most sympathetic of our situation. Unfortunately she left the firm shortly after our initial conversations however we were assigned another attorney who was equally adept and professional and brought totally up to speed by the previous attorney at no charge to us. He researched all the relevant cases and prepared our best approach to effect the eviction in the most cost effective manner. In the end a settlement was made out of court and although not everyone was happy other firms may have taken the position of continued courtroom drama. Nunis and Associates, however made clear our options and that we cut our losses as the defendant could drag this out for a very long and expensive time. Mr. Nunis reviewed every statement and in many entries adjusted the billable hours in our favor. I had a number of conversations with our attorney that we were never charged for, unlike other firms who start the clock when they answer the phone and want to talk about weather for 15 billable minutes. This was a civil matter and a bit complex and would certainly feel quite comfortable in discussing any other legal matter with Mr. Nunis. read more
