All of them kept telling us it'll take 24-48 hours and we'd wait and get no call backs. We'd even offer to pay for consultation services if we could just talk to someone to figure out what we should do. We were having issues with our GC and needed clarification and advice on what we needed to do to resolve our conflicts. Our GC demanded we pay extra costs on our new home build (which we've never talked about, nor agreed to). We're at the 95% finish rate. We've paid all our drawers on time and basically the exterior of the home is almost done, but the GC wants to charge us another $12,000 for labor and supply we've never talked about. Throwing out fees/dues right as we are literally at the end game! So much so that they're threatening us if we don't pay, they're walking off job! Pathetic and so unfair on so many levels! Although, I wasn't able to hire Roberto to work on my case, because after talking to him and explaining what had happened and the legal avenues we could take, in the end, we'd end up paying so much more than $12,000. It's sad that we have to pay our hard earned money to a pathetic -and conniving General Contractor. I will say, for Roberto to pick up and actually spend 20 mins to advise to us about what we should and shouldn't, do, is just awesome. He didn't hesitate to help , listen to our issues, and the key thing is, he actually cared enough to help and advise. I can tell his customer service is great, because he picked up his phone automatically and actually wants to help people! I believe he would make a great lawyer and his number is stored in my phone if and when I do need one. Or if someone needs recommendations for a good lawyer! Thank you Roberto for taking the time to talk to my husband and I today! We truly appreciate your kindness!

Roberto was extremely helpful in bringing us up to speed on the legal process. He also provided excellent legal advice assessing the merits of both sides of the case, which helped us a lot in understanding the probability of a favorable outcome if things went to mediation or to court. Ultimately, his advice was critical in us having confidence in standing our ground and reaching a favorable outcome. The legal advice was worth 5 stars, and his fees are very reasonable. Unfortunately, I also have to deduct 1 star because Roberto missed a couple of calls that I had scheduled with him, so it wasn't a flawless experience working with him. Perhaps it was a crazy busy week, and sometimes busy attorneys do get stuck in court or some other higher priority meeting. In those cases, it would have been better to get a text message or some communication from his office. However, I had to call his office both times to find out what was going on and reschedule. That being said, I would absolutely recommend Roberto to others and would definitely turn to him for legal advice in the future if needed.

She doesn't just handle contracts. She empowers creatives to understand what they're signing and why it matters. She's also a strong advocate for women in media here in Austin, supporting organizations like Women in Film & TV and hosting lunch-and-learn sessions for the community. That's actually how I first heard about her and her team. What I appreciate most is that her and her team genuinely want to make filmmaking fun and not a pain in the butt. They understand the creative process, and they work to support it, not complicate it.

At the time of the work and this review, they offered a flat-fee option for this, which included an initial consultation call, one-hour follow-up call, and the policies for my blog/website (plus one revision). Attorney Marguerite, from Alyce's firm, was my attorney. Working with her was a fantastic experience. She went over every aspect of my blog that might have legal relevance and pointed out things that she thought should be included in the policies she would be drafting for me. She was diligent, thorough, prompt, and responsive, and the policies she drafted for me were just what I needed and wanted. I am 100% happy with the quality of Marguerite's work. Will hire her again if I ever need updates made to my blog's terms/conditions/privacy policy.

What I expected to be competent, professional representation turned into a three-year ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, unexpected costs, and serious mismanagement of my case. I hired this firm for a civil lawsuit that Alex repeatedly estimated would cost no more than the low six-figure range from start to finish. I relied on those assurances when deciding how to proceed. Yet after three years of representation, and after already approaching six figures in payments, I was suddenly informed--right before trial--that the total cost could be nearly double the amount originally quoted. This drastic change came with no prior warning, no detailed explanation, and no reasonable justification. Even worse, Alex refused to reschedule my trial date unless I paid an additional $30,000 retainer, despite the trial being almost a year away. This made it financially impossible to continue under his representation and forced me to find new counsel just to keep my case alive. Communication throughout the representation was equally troubling. There were multiple stretches where weeks or even months passed without responses to emails. Critical information--including a countersuit filed against me--was not communicated in a timely manner, leaving me uninformed about major developments in my own case. This lack of responsiveness caused constant stress and made it nearly impossible to make informed decisions. In terms of case management, I experienced significant delays that could have been avoided with even basic diligence. In fact, my case was pushed back 12-18 months due to issues stemming from the firm's handling of filings, procedures, and amendments--including those relating to TUFTA claims. These delays had real financial consequences and set my case back dramatically. After three years of mounting costs, delays, and broken assurances, I had no choice but to terminate the firm and seek new representation. My new attorney--who took the case on contingency--immediately flagged multiple concerns about how the matter had been handled up to that point. Because of the repeated mismanagement, lack of communication, and serious concerns regarding the handling of my case, I am now compelled to file an ethical grievance with the Texas State Bar, as it is the only avenue available to seek accountability. What I needed was honesty, communication, and competent guidance. What I received instead was a lack of transparency, inconsistent information about costs, poor communication, and case management issues that materially affected the outcome and timeline of my lawsuit. This was easily the most stressful, expensive, and frustrating professional experience I've ever had. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to do thorough research and ask very specific questions about communication, cost transparency, and case management before retaining them. I hope my experience helps others avoid the situation I found myself in after placing my trust in this firm.

I wanted to take care of some important things in my life, like Estate Planning and getting my estate and health wishes in order before my retirement age to make life easier for my relatives without the future expenses of attorneys and having my legal & health documents all done and stored in one place. I called Christopher Daves to make an appointment for a meeting to come in to discuss setting up a plan to protect my assets he called me back the same day. I met with Christopher and he was very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable to all the questions and answers in setting up my Trust. I had just gone through probating my mother's will. Her home was valued at $85,000 and only about $15,000 in other assets including cash. The small town attorney in Gatesville, TX charged me $3,000 which I thought was outrageous since her estate was so small. The total amount was not much more for setting up my Estate Planning and creating my personalized Trust that Christopher Daves prepared. I decide to do a REVOCABLE TRUST - putting all my assets including my rental homes and my LLC's into the trust so my trustee, upon my death steps in and continues to run business without dealing with an attorney or probate judge making an appointment. All my deeds, bank accounts and personal assets were transferred to the trust protecting me against any future losses or liability. Knowing I'm protected when my health declines in the future and I'm protected for any lawsuits or scams when I get older is such a peace of mine. When my personalized Trust was finalized and Christopher recorded all my deeds. I was given a binder with all my legal documents all in one place to have access to. Very simple organization at a very affordable price and peace of mind. I highly recommend Christopher Daves for your Estate Planing or other legal needs.

She and her firm don't do contract law, so she was unable to help me. I found Hay Legal Group's "front door" demeanor to be off-putting. I called them directly. Instead of taking my information over the phone, the receptionist insisted I go to their website and fill out their contact form and their paralegal would be in touch. That's rude, and not very customer service oriented. If I call, don't send me to a website. In filling out their intake form, I was careful to be very specific and detailed in the scope of services and dates I needed. My request was succinct but factual. I got back a rather terse email from their executive assistant a little over an hour later. Without further explanation, Marci thanked me for my contact and referred me to another attorney outside their law firm. It turns out their referral was to an attorney who is a former partner of their law firm. One star for family loyalty, I guess. Overall, Hay Legal Group didn't leave a positive impression with this Yelper. I didn't get good vibes about doing business with this firm, short-lived though my experience may have been. According to their website, what I requested in terms of services was totally in their wheelhouse. Perhaps I was so specific that they knew they were unable to accommodate my request and didn't want to waste their time or mine. I will allow them that possibility, and give them another star. Still, they could have handled things more cordially and professionally and at least offered a reason for the redirection. In my opinion, they came off as cold, impersonal bots, pushing e-tasks from inbox to outbox. I can't speak to the value of their services since we weren't able to conduct any business beyond contact and client intake/rejection--unless, that is, if you consider that the value here was in not wasting my time. But they could have saved me even more time and effort filling out their form and waiting for an answerby just answering my question over the phone, after all. Learn to talk to a human, Hay Legal Group. Treat potential clients like you'd like to be treated. If you have to turn away clients, at least leave them with a good impression of your firm. Two stars for my experience and expectations. My advice is to keep looking.
