Would you have the knowledge offered, polite service and 100% awesome experience in another shop? Only if you were in their second location in State College. Great place. Be prepared for a little sticker shock if you haven't priced bikes for a while. But if you seriously want all the things I spoke about above, this is your stop.

My hydraulic brakes were making random scraping noises, and gears 7 and 8 had a slight clicking feeling. I also wanted a general check to make sure everything was aligned and torqued properly. I was greeted by Max and explained the issues. He offered a $90 "Stage One" package--cleaning, lubrication, tightening, tire pressure, and inspection. My bike was only two weeks old, so I was hesitant, but since my requested repairs were only $30, I agreed. Three hours later, I got a call that the bike was done. Fast, I thought--maybe that's why they have good reviews. But when I picked it up the next day, the scraping and clicking were still there. It was clear they'd only done the Stage One package, skipping the actual repairs. They even claimed my two-week-old chain was 25% worn, which made no sense. I called and spoke to Chris, who said I could bring it back. When I returned, Chris seemed rushed and a bit dismissive, but after we went over everything again, he promised to personally inspect the bike and offered a refund along with free repairs. That was fair, so I left it with him. By Wednesday afternoon--two days later--I hadn't heard anything, so I called. Chris said he wanted to test ride it before I picked it up, and I got a call later that day saying it was ready. Unfortunately, the back brake was still scraping. Chris admitted he hadn't touched the back tire--even though I'd clearly mentioned both. He told me to "double tap the brakes" to stop the noise. My gears still click, and the rear brake squeaks worse than before. Even my wife noticed. After four hours of driving and multiple visits, I'm left with the same problems I started with. Very disappointed.

Hi Everyone, I…read morenormally don't write reviews but felt I had to share my great experience with the local Pedego Bike Shop in Downtown Harrisburg. I just recently bought the black Element model with blue rims and can't say enough about the bike. I highly recommend this bike shop. Let me tell you about my experience. I first met Drew and his lovely mom at their booth during the Kipona Labor day event this year on City Island. I stopped by on Saturday with my wife and then came back on Monday to visit their booth again. From there Drew and his mom invited me to stop by for a free test ride. The day that I went to take that first test ride at the shop, Drew went over all of the details and options for the bike. He showed me the necessary instructions on the throttle, pedal assist, the brakes and the control panel that I need to know before I went on my free test ride. He then gave me directions on where to go to ride the bike. At that point I realized he wasn't going with me since he was the only one there in the shop. I am 63 and haven't rode a bike since I was a teenager. I was literally shaking inside my body not knowing what to expect riding in rush hour traffic by myself for the first time on an e-bike. Drew sensed my nervousness and asked me if I wanted him to go with me? I told him that I didn't' want him to close the shop just for me, but he said without hesitation, "the store will be ok for a little without me." Who does that!! Very impressed at this point! It made all the difference in the world for me when he decided to ride with me. We got outside and he told me to just push off and give it some throttle and start peddling. Then off I went and never looked back. It turned out to be a great experience not knowing what to expect my first time out after not riding a bike for 44 years! What a great experience riding along the river in Harrisburg. I was thinking at first, if this doesn't go right, I may end up in the water...LOL! But nothing happened, it felt like being a kid again and had no issues riding the bike. I amazed myself. It took me a couple of days to make a decision to purchase the bike and had a hard time deciding on the color whether blue or all blacked out? So, what did Drew do to close the deal, he told me he had already ordered the blue bike and he had a black one in stock but with upgraded wheels and other options which was a little higher then I wanted to go on price. Once the blue bike arrived he assembled each bike with different rim colors to make my decision easier to make. He went the extra mile for me. The other thing that sold me on Pedego was the 5 year "no excuses" warranty, which also covered theft if you buy their lock for the bike. I researched a lot of e-bikes and no other bike manufacturer had a 5 year warranty. I also bought Bike Insurance in case I have an accident or someone steals the bike when I am out riding or it's not locked up. The cost was only $9.21 per month and worth the piece of mind knowing if something out of the ordinary happens, I'm covered! In the end, Drew was patient enough to answer all of my questions and concerns for my first e-bike purchase. If you want a great bike, just stop by their local shop located on 3rd Street at Strawberry Square and get a free 1 hour test ride to make sure it is the right bike for you. Thank you "Pedego Harrisburg and Drew" for making this all happen. I look forward to a long and lasting relationship with this family owned business. Great job
