I picked it up this morning and it works great. They took the time to look at it and it turned out to be just some old grease that had dried up and was keeping the shifter from functioning properly. Very minimal charge for the work and great people to deal with. Some shops might have just replaced the shifter, maybe the derailleur too, and charged me a lot more.
