I bought my 2016 CVO Street Glide from an HD dealer in OC, had them do some motor work including an SE race tuner and Dyno tune, Mistake number 1. Bike never seemed to run right despite being tuned twice by them and being told it was a good tune. After several disappointing service department visits to the dealer, I decided to ask around about a good HD mechanic who was also knowledgeable and experienced at Dyno tuning motors. After doing my research, Cycle Doctor seemed to be the place to take my bike with a high likelihood of a good end result. I met with Geoff and he was more knowledgable about tuning Harley's than anyone else I had spoken to in OC, and I visited all the recommended top shops and HD dealers. Up to this point, my experience with the dealer was one disappointment after another. I was a bit skeptical that anyone would get it right after my dealer saga. Geoff took his time and answered all my questions, and I felt confident in his abilities after our discussion. Dyno Tuning a Harley correctly is an art mastered by a select few in the country Geoff is one of those artists. Geoff said he would need my bike like most dealers do for almost two weeks, so I agreed and put my faith in Geoff and his crew of excellent mechanics. Geoff finished the work which included a 5K service, Manual Primary Chain tension upgrade which Geoff suggested. I am glad he did as this saved me from an expensive repair bill down the road. I also needed a complete new tune with TTS Master Tuner (the best tuner on the market). Geoff called me early after only having the bike three days and told me it was ready which was surprise number one. Geoff had me ride the bike first for a bit before we discussed the results. He did not want my opinion to be biased by the HP and Torque numbers which mean nothing if your bike runs poorly. As Geoff says, "Let the seat tell you how the bike is performing." It did not take me long to notice the difference. It was night and day from what the dealer called a good tune and was noticeable with the first twist of the throttle. No more popping or back firing when letting off the throttle. Now the throttle response is smooth and crisp and the bike is much faster off the line. All the way through the power band HP and torque were improved. Sixth gear even had more response at 80 MPH. I returned to the shop 15 minutes later with a grin from ear to ear. FINALLY, my bike was tuned right - surprise number two. Geoff then went through the entire tuning process and showed me all the results. The final result was about an 8% increase in HP and Torque over what the dealer produced. This surprised me as it felt like much more with how the bike now responded. My 110 now has 103HP and 117 Torque and purrs like a kitten. I was not happy having to spend money twice to do a Dyno Tune, but even at twice the price this was money well spent. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time at a dealer or with others who think they know how to tune a Harley. Go to the best and do it right the first time. DYNO DOCTOR = Dynamite!!! I have been utilizing Cycle Doctor for over 4 years, first with my 2001 Heritage Soft-Tail Classic. Geoff and Steve always were on top of any needs I had, from tires to service to repairing electronic and mechanical issues. Earlier this year I traded in my Soft-Tail for a 2009 Electra Glide Classic. The bike had been upgraded with new pipes and potentially other upgrades within the engine that the dealer did not specify. I wanted to understand more about my new bike and was there anything I could do to get it to run more efficient and feel right. Geoff explained that a Dynometer test would be the right way to go to ensure the air and fuel flows were tuned to a perfect match throughout each RPM and Gear. I will say, I was a little leery of spending the 4 hours of labor and the purchase of the box to set the tune. I decided to bite the bullet and have the Dyno Test performed. Geoff has been riding and working on bikes for years and I entrusted that he would be excellent in the service. I have to say, after the Dyno was completed I went on a good 200 mile ride and the difference was Night and DAY. Number one, the first thing was the acceleration at each gear change was immediately noticeable. Secondly, I was blown away that the RPMs never went above 3500 as I raced through each gear.... In 6th gear the bike was running at 3200 and I was going between 90 and 100 miles per hour. Absolutely amazing. The bike runs so smooth and quiet even at high speeds. I am getting at least an extra 40 Miles out of every tank. And by the way, I still get the Lions Roar and growl when I rev up the throttle, so I didn't lose my ability to let the 4 Wheeler's know I am there. Thanks so much Geoff for the DYNO. I am extremely disgusted with my experience at Cycle Dr. I brought my motorcycle in for repairs and was charged a significant amount for a long list of fixes. However, the bike remained in the same condition, with the original issues still unresolved. I was also without the bike for close to a year. For instance, I was informed that the carburetor had been cleaned, yet fuel continued to leak. As a solution, I was advised to burn the tank and apply a new tank liner. Despite following this recommendation, the fuel leak persisted. Seeking a second opinion, I took my motorcycle to a different mechanic, who discovered a significant amount of sediment inside the carburetor, confirming that the service had not been performed. Additionally, the bike continually exhibited problems with starting. As a result I had to pay for multiple tows to Cycle Doctor immediately after having picked up the bike from them. After finally taking the bike to the new shop, it was discovered that the wiring, starter and solenoid needed replacement. I was shocked because Cycle Doctor had already charged for these items. This raises serious concerns about whether any of the work I was billed for was actually completed. I feel that I was taken advantage of. A mechanic who claims to specialize in motorcycle repair should possess the expertise to accurately diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. Throughout this process, I encountered a lack of honesty and transparency. If the necessary repairs were beyond their capability, it would have been more professional to communicate that upfront rather than charging for incomplete or ineffective work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business and strongly encourage others to exercise caution when considering their services. read more

Met Geoff today for the first time, what a Rockstar Mechanic he is. My back story, I have a 2017 Softail 103. Two weeks ago I had my local dealer take it to stage 2. I picked up the bike and went for a ride. I was disappointed. It didn't feel any different then the stock cam, the only difference was the EITM came on often, even at night with the weather in the high 70's, I knew this couldn't be right. The Harley tuning MAPS we not going to cut it, they were not right for the cam. Read the reviews about Cycle Doctor and decided he was the guy. The Cycle Doctor got me on the dyno in 10 days after I reached out to him. Geoff is a serious guy that takes pride in his work. So if you're hoping for a mechanic to blow smoke up your ass and tell you bedtime stories Geoff ain't the one. But if you want someone who knows how to tune a Harley Geoff is the man. Brought my 2023 Lowrider S to CycleDoctor for a full build and tune. They spec'd everything: 128" S&S kit, TTS250 cam, Bassani RR3 2 into 1 exhaust, then dialed it in on the dyno. Results: 127.21 hp at 5,190 RPM and 146.86 ft-lbs at 3,520 RPM, with a flat torque curve from 2,500 to 4,500 RPM and AFR locked in at lambda 0.92. The numbers are great, but more importantly the bike rides exactly how you'd hope a built 128 should. Clean throttle response, strong pull everywhere in the powerband, no flat spots, no surging. The crew here knows Harleys inside and out. They picked the right combination of parts for what I wanted, explained the reasoning, and the result speaks for itself. Well my 1997 Road King FLHRI turned 18 years old last week and to bring things up to date it spent some time in a very special repair shop since it needed some real sharp eyes on it to find the gremlin of the past three years. Turns out Geoff Gaites and the Cycledoctor team finally found the problem....a stretched and bad wire in the harness that caused so much grief to so many HD technicians for far too long. I highly recommend Cycledoctor ! I had previously had my 1989 FLST gone through with a recommended mechanic. Nice guy but I almost did not make it to Laughlin. I ended up with several issues and decided to take my bike to Cycledoctor after talking with Geoff. I just picked my Harley up today from them and it not only ran great it also looked great ! Bought a 2011 FLHTK the Ultra Limited and to tell you the truth was very disappointed with the performance off the showroom floor. My first Harley, and yes the ride was plush but after riding a VTX1800 for eight plus years I was wondering where the motor was....Found the Cycle-Doctor on one of the performance forums and went to talk to Jeff since all his feed back was 5 star.I was not disappointed when I picked up my bike.
