    Free fruit!

I've tried a few spin/cycle studios (boutique and otherwise) in Hoboken over the last couple of years... this is probably my favorite coed option (there are one or two places that are female only in town). I've now come over 200 times, so this review is a culmination of those visits. Pro's: They give you free shoes! Comes with every class all of the time, so no need to remember to bring the right footwear which is awesome. They have bathrooms (which they share with local barre which is right next door). They have lockers, chilled water, free water bottles (with your first ride which is also free), fruit for a post class nutritional snack (apples and bananas usually), and free hair ties, earplugs andthat. You don't have to wipe off the bikes (the staff does that for you), and the weights and towels are waiting for you when you arrive. The instructors are all pretty nice/helpful and upbeat. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. You get your first class free, and then they have intro specials (and the run specials for regular members a lot too). Con's: so pretty few and far between here, but you should know-there's nowhere to change (unless you use the shared bathrooms, and there are only 2), zero showers, so don't plan on coming here and being able to turn around and go to work or out-you'll have to make a stop home. Last but not least, although there are lockers there, the area is small, and when a full class of almost 45-50 people let's out, it's a bit of a bottle neck trying to get to yours, or get a seat. Try using the area next doir Definitely worth a try-even if you're a beginner-they have special classes for that! Just too bad I couldn't give them a 5-The showers are the biggest reason!

It is a really friendly place. For my first class, everyone was very attentive and helpful. I have done spin classes before, but they still were incredible helpful. They keep everything clean and organized. The classes themselves are ready good as well. I have had a variety of classes with a variety of teachers. There is a little variance on who I like better, but they are very strong in general. They have really good programs that mix things up and keep things challenging with hills and sprints. One of the instructors had a really awesome meditation period and she was really motivating as she spoke. I really think this is one of the top spins places in general. I have done several different franchises and CycleBar is very close to Soul Cycle (sorry, my favorite one).

I work about a 20 minute walk/7 minute Uber from this studio. One of the studio gals reached out to offer a free ride to our office of employees. We gladly accepted! The short: The studio is beautiful. The instructor was incredible. It honestly would be a 5 star experience for me if it had showers (but would be 5 star if I lived locally). The longer: the space is totally brand new, with clean bikes, shoes, locker rooms & bathrooms. The instructor we had was awesome and all the staff were so, so nice. The studio has a surround sound system, you cycle to the music (which I LOVE), and they show stats from time to time to tap into our competitive spirit. It felt like a mix of soul cycle and Swerve to me. The only flaw is no showers. Since I don't live locally, that means I can only go for night rides or afternoon rides if I have no afternoon meetings and can chill in the office with a sweaty bun. But, overall, great new spot and I'm super jealous of all the North Hoboken people who live near it!

I decided to try a different cycling class since I usually go to SoulCycle and I found that I really like CycleBar. There are monitors to show your speed, power, and other performance specs in comparison to the other riders which I love the most because it motivates you to push harder even more. I didn't have to pay for renting shoes so that was a huge plus! There was also a Yelp Fit Club event today so we had a lot of healthy snacks and goodies! Totally recommend this place even for someone trying it out for the first time.

I'd assume since it's Hoboken parking is impossible?

The equipment I use is always in service and the locker rooms are clean. I love the tiny steam room and sauna. I have taken a few classes which were good, but the morning class schedule doesn't work with my work schedule. I would love a 6 am low impact class! The one thing that I dislike about Crunch Hoboken are the hair dryers, which are old and take forever to dry your hair. I wish they'd upgrade to fast Shark hair dryers and add some hooks in the shower stalls.

At first…read moreglance it's not much, the size of the gym is smaller than other locations but what makes this one stand out than some of the other locations is their "Signature" branding which includes better equipment and towel service. As of recently they've upgraded their treadmills to Woodways which I was very excited to try out. They're quick, smooth and compatible with your smart watch, I just wish they would upgrade their entire line up of treads and not just half the room. The gym itself is a bit warm and kinda humid all year long, there's no fans blowing anywhere to keep the place cool. I've had no issues with staff, everyone has been very friendly. Parking is a nightmare though. It's all paid street parking and everyone is just sharking for the next spot. Sundays used to be free parking but as of recently that's now changed. If there's something I would ask to be improved is for the hours to change. Open up earlier and close later. Lifetime Fitness opens at 5AM and closes at 11PM. Take some notes and learn from them, some of us have chaotic work schedules and the business hours at this location (especially on weekends) are lame. Also please finish updating the rest of your treads to Woodways, I can't stand having to wait 15-20 minutes for equipment to open up.

I joined this gym in January and its the best investment I've made this year, im a shitty day trader so thats not saying much. The Yoga studios are so peaceful and the instructors are all masters. Notably Jason Morris hot yoga classes are energizing and therapeutic, he is such a Guru Ive learned so much about anatomy and making a mind body connection that it spills over into weight training. Luliias voice is so soothing and her classes are so fun, the Friday class specially feels like everyone is connected Gigis class is super cool on Sundays it should be renamed Juicy Yoga with Gigi lol, shes so funny and connects with everyone, the class feels like cuddles after sex. Spin with Juggy and Melora is elite. Ive gotten so much faster in my road bike after just a few classes. Functional training with Nyerre Mays is un-unreal. He is such a cool dude and such a Pro. The pool is epic, the Jacuzzi forget about it. The entire staff is super friendly and makes everyone feel super welcomed. I truly feel at home whenever I make it to the gym. The MVPs of the gym are the cleaning staff though, everything is so spotless all the time. In a city so chaotic is nice to have this peaceful oasis.

Well, that's how I felt during my first class at HRA. My favorite thing about this gym is the community and diversity of its members. After moving back to the area on March 1, 2020 and having the whole world shut down soon after, I was at a loss for community. However, a few months later I was fortunate enough to get connected into HRA because they were on top of their game with Hoboken to get things going in a safe way. They have 3 main types of classes offered: WOD's (CrossFit workouts), RPM (strength and conditioning), and yoga. All of the coaches all have their own flavor and approach and teach with heart, passion, but most of all expertise. This is the first gym I have been to that I do not feel that I have to avoid "that" coach. If you are searching for a gym that is doing things the RIGHT way, and I am not just talking about working out safely during a pandemic, I am also talking about focus on form, positivity, and taking care of one another, this is your gym. From events such as Hero WOD's at a Jersey Farm to raise money for 31 Hero's, to decorating the gym for the holidays, this truly is a special place. If you choose to drop in and try a class, come over and say hi if you see me. That's just what we do!
