I came here for a cycling class and had a good workout. The class was high energy, and it was fun. I usually try to avoid cycling classes because I get knee pain, but I was able to pace myself. I would come back here for a workout. read more

CYCLEBAR - Cycling Classes Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

Love me some cuclebar and tried this new call location which was a bit tricky but luckily was early. I walked in and was welcome with a hello and checked in luckily cause I knew how the process worked but they didn't seem too interested in talking unless I made it known I was knew to the studio or was a usual. The studio is smaller then the Jersey city and 67th street location which I have been to. The instructor was late to the class but still made the class worth it and got my workout in. I thought the vibe was a bit different to the other locations and not sure if I would visit again but got the job done. read more

Since the Cyclebar is located on the third story its a bit tricky to get to, but once you get up there it's the best cycle/spin experience you can hope for... seriously. My first class was a last minute booking, so I ran (as fast as I was able) over and was greeted by the staff with open arms. Within minutes I had my velcro bike shoes on and I was ready to pedal! By the end of the class I was exhausted, that good type of exhausted that makes you want more the next chance you get. I've been here 5 times and I love it! read more

I've tried a few spin/cycle studios (boutique and otherwise) in Hoboken over the last couple of years... this is probably my favorite coed option (there are one or two places that are female only in town). I've now come over 200 times, so this review is a culmination of those visits. Pro's: They give you free shoes! Comes with every class all of the time, so no need to remember to bring the right footwear which is awesome. They have bathrooms (which they share with local barre which is right next door). They have lockers, chilled water, free water bottles (with your first ride which is also free), fruit for a post class nutritional snack (apples and bananas usually), and free hair ties, earplugs andthat. You don't have to wipe off the bikes (the staff does that for you), and the weights and towels are waiting for you when you arrive. The instructors are all pretty nice/helpful and upbeat. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. You get your first class free, and then they have intro specials (and the run specials for regular members a lot too). Con's: so pretty few and far between here, but you should know-there's nowhere to change (unless you use the shared bathrooms, and there are only 2), zero showers, so don't plan on coming here and being able to turn around and go to work or out-you'll have to make a stop home. Last but not least, although there are lockers there, the area is small, and when a full class of almost 45-50 people let's out, it's a bit of a bottle neck trying to get to yours, or get a seat. Try using the area next doir Definitely worth a try-even if you're a beginner-they have special classes for that! Just too bad I couldn't give them a 5-The showers are the biggest reason! read more

It is a really friendly place. For my first class, everyone was very attentive and helpful. I have done spin classes before, but they still were incredible helpful. They keep everything clean and organized. The classes themselves are ready good as well. I have had a variety of classes with a variety of teachers. There is a little variance on who I like better, but they are very strong in general. They have really good programs that mix things up and keep things challenging with hills and sprints. One of the instructors had a really awesome meditation period and she was really motivating as she spoke. I really think this is one of the top spins places in general. I have done several different franchises and CycleBar is very close to Soul Cycle (sorry, my favorite one). read more

CYCLEBAR - First ride, get an exclusive locker #special - Cycling Classes Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

So far so good - been here once now for their free trial class and here are my first impressions: 1) the spin room is spacious! 2) the instructor was intense but good! 3) self check in - awesome Going to take a couple more classes, then I'll be back for a full review read more

I work about a 20 minute walk/7 minute Uber from this studio. One of the studio gals reached out to offer a free ride to our office of employees. We gladly accepted! The short: The studio is beautiful. The instructor was incredible. It honestly would be a 5 star experience for me if it had showers (but would be 5 star if I lived locally). The longer: the space is totally brand new, with clean bikes, shoes, locker rooms & bathrooms. The instructor we had was awesome and all the staff were so, so nice. The studio has a surround sound system, you cycle to the music (which I LOVE), and they show stats from time to time to tap into our competitive spirit. It felt like a mix of soul cycle and Swerve to me. The only flaw is no showers. Since I don't live locally, that means I can only go for night rides or afternoon rides if I have no afternoon meetings and can chill in the office with a sweaty bun. But, overall, great new spot and I'm super jealous of all the North Hoboken people who live near it! read more

Upon arriving, we were greeted by front desk Tracy who was super friendly and showed us how it works there. I love that they provide shoes at no extra cost and free water bottle with your first class! Lockers are self lock, you create the code and lock yourself, they're also a great size. They offer healthy fruit and filtered water. Class was intense, not in my best shape but the workout was great. Love he ambience the instructor Kaitlyn. She was energetic and friendly. Helped me out with my bike :) it's was a great and I'll definitely be back here again. The only bad thing is parking for those morning classes during the week. I take a lot of 9:45a classes and will be circling around for 10 min looking for a parking spot since the lot connected to the Monroe center is always filled so be sure to add 10 min to your commute if you're driving! read more

I've taken three classes here. The first class is free. On your first day, they decorate your locker with a welcome message. You also get a free water bottle. The salon has snacks to much on after class, free water, and supplements to add to your water (for hydration). Shoe rentals are also free. The classes themselves are intense and rewarding. They do a lot of work with your core. There's also a weight portion. Each instructor is different. I would recommend Liz or Samantha. If you're a member, you get discounts on other places in the area including Local Barre, One Sol, and Glow and Co. Plus if you bring your water bottle and get it signed after class, you'll get a free class after 10! This place has become my new favorite workout because they have flexible membership options with no cover charge and they have discounts on other places in the area. Plus the workout is extremely rewarding. Go here! read more

I was in town and decided to sign up for a CycleBar class. I got there with my sister early (though getting to the studio was incredibly confusing). It took us about 10 minutes outside of the building to figure out where CycleBar was located; there was no sign or instructions on their site to help new-comers identify where this studio is. After we made our way into the studio, we did get a very warm welcome. But once we entered the cycling room, we were pretty much left to our own devices. I had done cycling before at Flywheel and my sister had done some cycling in college, but every studio is different. I was pretty surprised that nobody explained the various positions to us. As such, when the instructor was calling out positions, we literally didn't know what to do. We had to look around and figure it out ourselves. It also took us about 3 minutes to figure out how to clip our shoes in (it's a bit different than Flywheel). The workout itself was ok, but we could have had an even better workout had we gotten some orientation to the bike, to the positions, to the safety precautions...etc. read more

It's a bit tricky to find as there's no outside signage. I only found the entrance by seeing someone in workout gear slip through a gray door. Turns out that CycleBar is located inside Monroe Center - my first time here but seems like others are very familiar with other businesses and programs offered inside the Center. For the grand opening, they offered more than a week of free classes! I was fortunate enough to attend 3 sessions, led by Kristin, Kim and Olivia. While everyone was energetic and fun, each instructor has their own style so I recommend trying out a few sessions to see who fits you best. It's worth mentioning that CycleBar provides free cycling shoes for the ride. I've taken one cycling class at a different gym in regular sneakers and the clip-ons make a world of a difference! Especially for the sprints. Also, I did notice that everyone comes dressed for class. There's not a private locker space so I guess you can use the bathroom if you need to change. I signed up for one of their promo packs so will be back soon :) read more

Amazing cycling studio. I love coming here to get my days started. The instructors are passionate and are very engaging. The music is always energetic too. Best cycling place in hoboken! Highly recommend read more

HORRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY!!!! Only go here if you want them to randomly charge you for classes you didn't buy over the past year. This business continues to fraudulently charge me without authorization and they don't even have a working phone line. How are you a business that charges people without their authorization and don't even have a working phone line???? I encourage all Hoboken residents to stay away from this business. read more

This location lacks basic amenities that other studios have and leaves a lot to be desired if you're used to what the cyclebar standard is and should be. The last two classes I have attended have been disrupted by other riders either coming in very late or having to switch bikes because they for whatever reason are letting riders book broken bikes. Additionally the amount of bikes they cram into the small space make it very difficult to move around. I am also perplexed as to why they don't have the bikes that allow for you to place your weighted bars into the side slots so you do not need to ride with your weight on the handle bars the whole time. It's an ok ride when your bike works, the instructors mic doesn't stop mid class and when you're not forced to book one of the bikes in an inconvenient spot...which is much more difficult than you would think. read more

I decided to try a different cycling class since I usually go to SoulCycle and I found that I really like CycleBar. There are monitors to show your speed, power, and other performance specs in comparison to the other riders which I love the most because it motivates you to push harder even more. I didn't have to pay for renting shoes so that was a huge plus! There was also a Yelp Fit Club event today so we had a lot of healthy snacks and goodies! Totally recommend this place even for someone trying it out for the first time. read more

First off, I'm a beginner. I was nervous and frankly a little nervous before my first ride back in January. But after my first ride, I was pumped! I didn't think I could be a Cycle Workout kind-of-guy but this place makes you not only feel welcome but it's really a great place for beginners AND pros. The instructors are top notch. They're fun, enthusiastic, down to earth and great motivators. Shout out to Todd and Samantha! I've always felt welcome, never felt out of place and always have a great workout and a great time. The facilities are clean, easy to get to and plenty of water available to fill your bottles! read more

I love this place - the instructors and staff are friendly and motivating. The location is clean, the equipment is new, they provide water (bring your own bottle or you can buy one there) and shoe rental is free of charge. Class wise - I've been spinning for probably 8 years now (usually at gyms) and this was my first time trying a boutique cycle specific location and it's amazing. The instructors keep you on the beat, the music works with the workout and it's very enjoyable. They have control over the lighting systems (for example lights are dimmed when "climbing a difficult hill") and everything just flows. After trying this location with a Groupon on, I promptly enrolled into their unlimited monthly classes. Favorite rides - wine down Wednesday and happy hour Friday, such a cute idea! read more

My cycling experience was great. Some room for improvement however: Since they offer free shoe rentals, they usually have shoes in your size already held for you inside the cubby matching your bike #, they never got my shoe size right and I'd have to search for my size, which was a little annoying vs. admin asks for your size and they grab it for you. The idea of it being available as soon as you walk in without having to ask is excellent, except it didn't work out that way every time and I was on my own searching for my size. My biggest regret signing up for membership. Should you try and freeze your account, you will be charged a monthly $10 fee, for basically nothing. Otherwise, should you try to cancel, they will charge you an additional month as cancellation doesn't take into effect until 30 days after you cancel and if you cancel a couple days after your monthly term end date, then you have to pay for the current month that "just started" plus the next month. For me, I paid for two full months after submitting my cancellation because I was shy of 2 days, no exceptions. Even if I was not shy of the 2 days that passed into the "current" month, paying an "extra" month knowing you can't use any of those classes is ridiculous. Because it essence it's like a penalty for cancelling. They should just cancel and perhaps charge a small cancellation fee or something along those lines, even that is ridiculous. It was a big headache and waste of money. The bikes were always slimy and gross. I wondered if they were cleaned after each class. For sure the bar weights were not cleaned regularly, they were so gross and slimy, I cringed every single time we were at that section of the class and sometimes opted out because I didn't want my hands which were touching my tower which was used to dry my face and rest of body to have all that yuck on it. If I do ever decide to go back, which may not be likely, it will be single classes only. With the premium, I have a piece of mind that I don't need to pay extra fees post a decision to not go, and it's usually due to scheduling conflicts, work demand, or child care. So I need that flexibility, like most people. The premium would not have at all added up to the total I paid for membership after I couldn't go to the studio anymore. read more

I went to my first class at CycleBar last night. It was 90's hip-hop/rap themed, which is what got me into the class in the first place. The playlist was pretty good and I was having fun at first, but I got bored about halfway through. One thing that I'm not a fan of in spin/workout classes is when the instructor makes the people in the class cheer and yell about how excited they are to be there. When you ask the class how they're feeling and not a single person responds, you just have to either A) drop it or B) make a joke about how everyone sucks. But don't MAKE us all half-enthusiastically cheer not once, not twice, but multiple times throughout the ride by repeatedly asking "How ya feeling? How ya feeling? I SAIDDD... how ya feeling?!" We're dying on the bike. We're great. The studio is new and very clean, but it is small and there are no showers or even locker rooms to change. This makes it pretty hard to go right to or from class. A notable plus: CycleBar does offer shoes free of charge, which is rare. read more

Don't do it! This Gym has been the worst experience for me they don't have showers and they kept charging me for a membership I canceled and they're saying they have no way to refund my money because it doesn't show on their system although I sent them my bank statements customer service is really bad just take your money somewhere else it's not worth it read more

The studio was kinda difficult to find. It's located in the Monroe Center and the studio is located on the 3rd floor next to Local Barre. When you arrive you check in on the iPads and also get your cycling shoes (which are free) at the check in counter. The lobby space is small with lockers along one wall. There is no changing room as the lockers and lobby are one in the same. There's a bathroom they share with Local Barre that can be used if needed. They also provide filtered water and fruit, which is a nice touch. I tried 2 classes with different instructors. My first class was tough and definitely a workout but my 2nd class was a little less intense due to the instructor and her playlist. There's also a scoreboard for those who are competitive and like to see how they are doing compared to the class. Beware that it can get a bit chaotic as you're leaving the studio and trying to get your stuff from the lockers due to the space. Overall, I enjoyed CycleBar although I don't think this will be a regular workout for me. After class you immediately get an email with your stats, rank and also the Spotify playlist played in class. read more

I've been to CycleBar Hoboken ~10 times and I absolutely love it. It's on the same "level" as SoulCycle so do not worry you will still get bumping music and a great workout! I've been on the weekdays and weekends and it's always a seamless process. The check in process for each class on the iPads is key, along with the shoe rack with your riding shoes already prepared makes it so quick and efficient. I've only taken the classic ride before and after experiencing a handful of teachers my favorites are Olivia and Samantha G. From my experiences they have the most current/best music, have great personalities and are very approachable but are also tough and will push you to your limits. And not to mention CycleBar is the cheapest cycling class I have been able to find in Hoboken. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, I love coming here! read more

Cyclebar offers a great workout! Kaitlyn is an awesome instructor -- motivating and energetic. The place is super clean and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Self check-in is easy and quick! Cool water is provided by the locker area near the lobby. The lockers are spacious and allows you to create your own locker combination. Shoes are FREE of cost!! I also received a free water bottle with my first class. If you bring the water bottle 10 times you can earn a free class! Some downsides include the parking, but many Hoboken businesses face this problem. The entrance can be confusing to find for first-timers. I also wish they had a shower in the facility so I can workout before work. All-in-all Cyclebar offers a great workout! read more

I'm an avid cyclist and runner so I decided to try out CycleBar. Kristin was the instructor - she was motivating and made the class fun! The studio is nice too. My only complaint is the studio is a bit narrow. When the class before got out as the next class was trying to go in, it was a bit chaotic. I imagine this will calm down a bit though once the free trial period is over. I'll definitely be going back again! read more

Classes during the first two weeks of grand opening were free so I signed up for as many as I could to get a solid feel of this studio. Took classes with Kristin, Todd, and Rick. Their styles are so different but I like them all as they kept me challenged. Such a huge plus that spin shoes are included in the classes unlike other studios that charge a rental fee if you don't bring your own. Staff was friendly & helpful with checking-in, answering questions, and assisting with bike setup. Purchased one of their promo packages and look forward to being a regular here. read more

I have been going for a few months. I really can't think of anything bad to say! Super friendly and attentive staff. I'm greeted by name every time. Easy class scheduling on the app. All the instructors are beyond enthusiastic. It's perfect! I might suggest they add some lunchtime classes (I'm not an early bird). But overall I'm happy with CycleBar. read more

I used to love this place until my recent experience. I was put on the waitlist and got into class the night before - I even received a bike assignment email. I showed up to class the next morning for the 545am class to be told I was never actually added. No apology, no explanation. The front desk attendant was very rude and did not make me feel like I belonged. I don't cycle that often so I already felt out of place. She acted as if I was ruining her morning and inconveniencing her. I stood at the desk for 15 minutes while she ignored me. At the last minute she told me what bike I was. She didn't help me find it. The class had started and I struggled to adjust my bike. This was THE WORST experience and customer service I have ever received. Afterwords I texted a friend who said this has happened to her too. Needless to say I will be going to soul cycle going forward. They are more expensive but WAY more accommodating and help you always with your bike. Update: The studio director reached out to me and was beyond kind and understanding of the issue I faced. She went above and beyond to reassure me this experience was not up to the service standards of the studio. Olivia is truly kind and I hope I will be able to take one of her classes and give CycleBar another try. read more

I've been to several different cycling studios in Hoboken, and this one is my favorite. As boutique studios go, they are very reasonably priced. The staff are always so friendly helpful. They give you free shoes, water bottle, and snacks, whereas many other studios charge you extra. The instructors differ in their music choices, so I feel like you have to try all of them and see whose classes you like. However, all of them are fun and motivating without the gimmicks. There is a "scoreboard" in the class that shows you how you are doing against the others in the class. You can choose to participate in it or not. Because I'm competitive, I like the extra motivation. I highly recommend this place! read more

I looovvee CycleBar. Have been going for about a year now and find it to be such a fantastic workout. Samantha is amazing and has great energy to motivate you to push harder!! read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's much closer to my apartment than Prime Cycle is, which is where I normally take spin. Unfortunately, I really did not like the classes here at all. First, the studio is very difficult to find and when you call them to ask for directions or anything else, they never answer the phone there--super frustrating. Second, there are too many bikes crammed into a very small space--i was on a bike that was literally behind a pole, totally blocking my view of the instructor. Third, the screen on the bikes that shows you the resistance doesn't work--so you never have any idea what resistance you're on. Makes it really difficult to keep up with the ride. Fourth, i found the ride to be boring and repetitive. I would definitely stick with Prime Cycle for spin classes in Hoboken. read more

I honestly hate group work outs. Who wants to sweat and look your worse in front of others? But this is a whole different experience... the room is dark and fans are blowing. I had a great experience at CycleBar. The locker area is fairly big with bench seating and they also have additional changing stalls. Check in is done on multiple iPads, so there weren't any lines! I really enjoyed the balance of the workout intensity and zen energy that the instructor and the staff provide. The studio is spacious, yet cozy with plenty of bikes to accommodate over 40 people. I love that they have TV screens with music videos before class and the leaderboard is displayed on the screens during the ride, in addition to the class statistics as a group :) I will be back soon!! read more

I love Cyclebar! Never really did spin classes before I came here about a month or so ago, now I'm hooked! This location is especially convenient for me, but also class times work well with my schedule. I get such a great workout in a 45-50 min ride and feel so accomplished after class. I love getting my stats emailed to me immediately after class. I usually go to Samantha's classes, she's super friendly and energetic and will be sure make class fun and challenging. The whole experience at cyclebar is great, from the shoes already in your cubbies to the convenient lockers, to the water bottles, and the music and lighting in the class room. CYCLEBAR - Cycling Classes Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

Such a fun, upbeat workout and kicks your butt!!! Love it!!!

Great experience overall- from the workouts to the attentive/super helpful staff. Loved having the opportunity to earn an unlimited month of classes through the inTENse challenge. I'd recommend taking a class with Stacey, Samantha, or Olivia. Only negative is that there's no bathroom/shower inside the actual studio. read more

After moving to Hoboken and trying to fill the SoulCycle void in my life, I tried a few different local studios. CycleBar has definitely been my favorite for a couple reasons. I think I have pretty high standards when it comes to spin classes, mainly because it's just so easy to take a class from good to great - and vice versa. Pros: Free shoes, friendly & helpful staff, free water bottles and snacks, fun little 'swag bag' after your first class, affordable packages (especially for new members), clean and sleek studio, good music (depends on the instructor but overall good), barbells instead of hand weights, consistently good workout. Cons: Location is a little tricky - no outside signage and the building itself is like a warehouse maze. Really only an issue for the first class. Performance stats pop up on screens a few times throughout the class - this could be a pro for some but for me, no monitors/metrics helps me zone out and have a better workout. Even if you're having a great ride, class rankings can be discouraging. Spin is what you make of it, and every class is a personal journey. Making it a competition takes away from that in my opinion, but I get that some people find it motivational. Overall, great studio with great perks. Perfect for those days you don't feel like wandering around aimlessly at the gym. Very motivating and the class speeds by. I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been here several times since they opened. It's located adjacent to Local Barre (another one of my favorites) in the Monroe Center. I really enjoy the facility and the instructors. You get you results emailed to you after each class so you can track your progress. Different music with each class, so it never gets boring (sometimes they even show music videos). They provide the cycling shoes, towels, water bottles and fruit at every class. Will definitely continue to come back. The only thing I wish they had (which another reviewer mentioned) is showers so I could be able to go straight to work after class. Olivia, Kaitlyn and Stacy have been my favorite instructors so far! read more
