I signed up for two classes through the ClassPass app while I was in town. The first was a Restore class with Wendy, which I loved. Wendy is a great instructor and had a great playlist. She's kind and encouraging in a calm and friendly way that motivates me more than being shouted at throughout class. The Restore class was a solid block of rowing for the first half of class and then strength and stretching on the mat for the second half. Unlike other classes, you don't use the monitors to view your stats and row more on feel, which I liked. The second class I attended was Signature with Joy. Joy is positive and upbeat, and her enthusiasm makes class enjoyable. For this class format we had three sets of rowing and two sets of strength on the mat, and used the monitors to track our stats throughout some sprints and power intervals. I really enjoyed both classes, and wish there was a Row House studio near where I live for me to attend regularly. The studio is inside The Block section of the Northway Mall, and there's plenty of parking. The studio is clean and bright and has self-locking lockers, a restroom, water bottle refill station, and branded merchandise for sale. The rowers and all other equipment are in excellent condition, and there are more than enough weights of each heaviness to go around. They provide the mats for the floor exercise portions. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the instructors to the other people in class. It seems like they have a lot of regulars, and several people were doubling up on classes the days I was there, which speaks well of the studio in my book.

Upon entering my first day, I was greeted and prompted to get all sign information completed. It was a quick process. They are also taking great precautionary measures due to covid-19. Class attendance has been reduced, the row room is cleaned thoroughly between each class, lockers and water fountain are not available for use. I was able to take 2 classes during my 7 day trial. Joy and Justin were both helpful and informative. Justin took time after the class to chat and be encouraging. They remembered my name the second time I came in and asked how I liked the first class - so customer service is on point! Although no one ever tried to sell me a package which I didn't mind because I already knew it wasn't my type of work out long term. The foundation class is 100% the class to start in if you have not rowed before. Form is so important and not having rowed before, I never realized there is a technique to it. I enjoyed the floor work outs between row sets. Justin's floor workouts during the foundation class were my favorite. I recommend taking advantage of their free trial and exploring classes before committing. They really are fun, just not my style of work out for a long term commitment.

I've worked out at The Barre Code a few times…read more The staff is welcoming and the workouts are surprisingly challenging after awhile! The instructors are kind of like friendly drill sergeants, guiding you through each movement and telling you that you can do it. It's a lot about repetition and light weight for a more toned result. I've definitely felt sore the next day. I will say I think there's a difference in the class depending on who you get as an instructor and what you're doing during the workout. The first class I went to was incredibly challenging and was pouring sweat by the end of it, but the other, while challenging, I barely broke a sweat. The workout room is very small. If there's more than 12 people in there it feels like you're bumping into others, which wasn't great. No shower at the facility, either. Barre probably won't be a go-to workout of mine, but I enjoyed it!

The music helped keep you on pace and even as a beginner, it was easy to keep up while getting a great workout in. I enjoyed how easy it was to follow along and how you shifted focus across the body so after 45 minutes, you really felt the difference. It was easy to park, easy to check in, and the lockers made it easy to drop off your stuff and get stretching before the class.

I love this place. Love it…read more The Psycle experience is unlike any workout that I've ever attempted. It's spinning on steroids and it's amazing. The instructor teaches class from a lit platform and the student bikes are arranged stadium style on risers. Coupled with black lights and four corners worth of speakers, you'll feel more like you're in a dance club than a gym. The music selection varies by instructor and refuses to disappoint! I've heard remixes in this class that had me up all night searching the Internet! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and somehow managed to remember my name by my second visit. Now if that doesn't make you feel welcome, I don't know what does. They also provide complimentary bottles of water at the start of each class. Nice touch. If you're like me and you have a hard time self-motivating, Psycle is the answer. The workout is hard (you will leave drenched in sweat) but the format is delivered in such a motivational way that you'll end up surprising yourself. At this point, I've only tried the spinning classes but they also offer aerobic-style classes like Kettle Bell and TRX. I plan on signing up for both. For the first time in my life, I actually look forward to working out. I really can't say enough good things about this place and the dedicated staff members that figured out how to make fitness both challenging and fun.

I have been trying to work out consistently everyday for the past month or so and wanted to try something different. I called Club Pilates a few days ago to inquire, and the receptionist was super sweet and was able to answer all my questions. I found out the first intro class was free so I thought, why not! I'll give it a go. My schedule is limited but the owner, Autumn, booked me for a 30 minute intro session on the day I had originally requested which was super convenient. When I arrived to Club Pilates, it was nice, clean, and quiet. No one was in the studio so the private session made the experience all the better. Autumn made me feel super comfortable and was so knowledgeable about everything! I ended up booking 4 more sessions after my first free one, and I am very excited. Autumn even texted me the next day to see how I was feeling. She is amazing. I love when clients are treated with genuine care and respect. It makes a client for life!

Everyone seems to "know my name" kind of feel not only from the staff but the members as well. It's like an extended family. When I joined the gym, I wanted to work with a personal trainer to gain strength and get lean, (not to look like a body builder). This began my fitness journey at the end of September 2019, with Kyle Walters. Never did I ever say that I wanted to lose weight. However, with the proper nutrition, meal plans, training, encouragement and accountability from Kyle, I lost a total of 23 lbs and 15" off my body. This all the while as he increased my caloric intake 3 fold, added a cheat meal and drink once a week AND a piece of chocolate after dinner every night for 6 months. My positive results came just in time for a really special trip in February 2020, where I wore my swimsuit with confidence and I never felt better or looked better in my entire adult life. If you're looking for a trainer who is educated in the field of nutrition, health and gets real results out of his clients, then I highly recommend giving Kyle a call. If you're looking for a gym that offers a clean, fun environment then Snap Fitness Mars is for you.

Reading the negative reviews made me want to choke at the gross misrepresentation of facts. So you…read morecan believe what I am sure is the same disgruntled person who has written the negative reviews or me, another total stranger, but my recommendation is that you stop and in find out for yourself as then you will know which review is the accurate depiction of the place. The gym was clean before and now has more stringent and regular cleaning practices due to CDC recommendations. The towels are clean and changed regularly. This place is not promoted as a spa, it is a gym where equipment gets used for its intended purpose. There are not people there licking the equipment or people stacked on top of each other. The equipment is touched and sat upon and as a mature adult, if I or anyone had a concern about whether the equipment was cleaned after it was used by the last person, there is a stack of clean towels made readily available to grab and clean the equipment before it is used. The gym also has this stuff called soap and hand sanitizer that is also readily available to be used. Issue solved. The owner could not be a nicer man and I respect him for opening up his business as these small businesses need to be open to survive. Many positive upgrades have been made as well during the shut down: sound system, additional equipment, new window blinds and freshly painted walls. These were some of the things that were being done while the other reviewer was complaining about the trainer and members being let into the gym while it was shut down. It was people helping a small business owner plan for his reopening to enable his business to survive...not his being irresponsible and risking lives. The comment about the trainer also could not be farther from the truth. I am one of the many people that he has worked with and helped to lose over 75 lbs and become fit by healthy nutrition counseling an fitness training. He does not just train athletes and body builders, but women and men of all age groups and fitness levels who have various goals that they seek to achieve. I have met many of them and all have and are achieving fantastic results. No supplements, drugs or voodoo. He teaches people how to eat and live a healthy and fit lifestyle. So any comments that elude to anything nefarious going on is just a lie conjured up out of obvious ignorance of him, his credentials and what he truly does. So if you are looking for a positive environment where you will be known by name and the owner, staff and members are friendly, helpful and welcoming and where a sense of community has been built among regulars and newcomers alike, then this is the gym for you. Like anything in life, your experience in the place is what you make of it. Be friendly and you will find friendliness is returned. So maybe the person who had such a contrary view of this great gym, that is OPEN during this time for business, is reaping what they sow. As I said, come in and decide for yourself which review is accurate and fact based. Hope to see you there!!!
