I love CycleBar - especially this location! I used to go to Soul Cycle in NYC - but felt judged at my lack of ability, confused by the system and never felt comfortable. First day at trying CycleBar in Cornelius - someone at the front desk guided me through the whole process and even decorated a locker for me! (See pic.) The instructor was kind and motivational - helped me on and off the bike. I can't wait to officially move down here to make CycleBar Cornelius my go to spot!

Cool studio

This is by far the best cycling experience in the area. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, your experience is what I'd consider "buttoned up." Sign up online is simple from the desktop, but the mobile site could be majorly improved because it's difficult to navigate. However, once you are where you're supposed to be, reservations are a cinch! Choose where you want to sit based on the class layout, and voila! Choose your shoe size ahead of time and pick a screen name so you can show up on the leaderboard during class. Walk in and the lobby is clean and, well, pungent. Whatever air freshener they use is no joke (and after the amount you sweat in class, you realize WHY they pump the scent so strong.) There's merchandise for sale (tees and tanks, etc.) Check in is on multiple iPads that have your first name and last initial, then it reminds you which bike you've selected, which also correlates to your cubby which has your cycle shoes. You can cycle with your own or use theirs. I opted to use theirs. They have lockers with easy to set locks for personal belongings. Options for room temp or cool water are available in the lobby as well as two bathrooms with basics (feminine hygiene, hair ties, etc.) Once you walk in to the studio, bikes are labeled with your number accordingly with a fresh towel. If you need assistance clipping in or adjusting your bike, the CycleStar(your teacher) or staff members are easily available to help you. The classes themselves are intense and fun! I love that they have a leaderboard so you can push yourself individually or with the class. They have an excellent variety in class types, times, and teachers. They dim the lights and blast the music which really gets my heart pumping! After class, they have cold towels to cool off with. The lobby area is a little cramped, but you really can't get around that based on the location. Overall, great experience. Downside is the price. Best option is definitely buying the multiple month membership. I wish it were more affordable because I'd come here MORE than I currently do. Well done, CycleBar. I love it.

I go to the 5:30AM classes and it's a great way to start my morning. I usually take Susan and Seth's class which are awesome. The instructors do a great job being creative with their classes. They incorporate a weighted bar to get arm and core workout in while spinning. The studio is always clean and they usually have some type of fruit to grab on your way out. Courtney, the owner, is wonderful.

I'm not usually one for organized / group exercise, but Kadi Fit changed my mind tonight…read more I had my first kardio dance class tonight, as part of the "your first class is free" offer. For starters, the studio in goregous! It's in an repurposed warehouse space with other businesses. Beautiful hardwood floors, bright lights, plenty of space (with a nice area with a couch & coffee table & literature wall) & a booming sound system. You're greeted as soon as you walk in at the checkin / reception counter. Kadi Fit utilizes the key ring card as your membership card, so you'll scan it when you come in. Katie (the owner) & one of her employees, Emma, are welcoming, super sweet , & were great to talk to. They didn't pressure me into becoming a member tonight (which I'm going to join as soon as I get back into the working world). I got to the studio a little early, so I watched the Primal class, which looked almost like a prep course for boot camp. :D However, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves & pushing their bodies to the extreme. Now, for the kardio class. WOW, so much fun! 45 minutes of high energy cardio with a fantastic music soundtrack. Katie & Megan (I believe that was her name) took turns leading high impact dances moves & steps. I really enjoyed myself! There were a lot of women in this class, but we still had plenty of space to move - we sure needed it! Katie & Megan had us all over the floor. Katie not only offers a ton of class options, she also teaches lifestyle. Her online site features a blog with plenty of useful information. The site also offers you to book classes & services online as well. I can't wait to become a member!

The staff is always friendly and the gym is pretty clean. They never run out of wipes, which is appreciated in our current environment, and have them spread all around the gym. There's a huge exercise room for classes, although I have yet to take a class here, and also a nice size training room. The gym isn't that big, so it was surprising when I saw how much they packed inside. I think you get your moneys worth with a membership here. Depending on the time of day, parking can get a little crowded, but even if you can't park directly in front of the building, there's plenty of parking nearby. The location is great too, just off Gilead Rd, near Starbucks, Walgreens, etc. I've been very happy here. There are just a few machines that aren't available that I wish they had. But like I said, they are regularly updating and swapping out equipment, so maybe I just need to inquire about what I'm interested in.

From cardio machines to weight…read morelifting and an exercise/yoga studio, you can pretty much find everything you need to get in a good work out. It's not a super large gym, perhaps like some others in the area. However, it is a really good size and you never really have to wait for machines or equipment. It seems that they try to keep the equipment up-to-date and every now and then you will see some new/updated equipment on the floor for use. It's also not crowded (usually the regular 1-3 people are there), at least during the super early morning time, when I go. If you go later in the morning, there are a lot more people there and it can become a little crowded. Either way, it's always your average, typical gym folks there that are considerate of others, never any grunters or ones that make you feel out of place when working out. This Anytime Fitness is located in a shopping center with a variety of establishments such as Walgreens, Starbucks, FedEx, and many other eateries and stores. So it is a great location with plenty of parking and things around which may be needed before or after a workout. The owner, manager and trainers are very nice and helpful when needed. If you live in the area, definitely try out this Anytime Fitness for your workouts.

This is a female-only gym…read more I have worked out here as a guest for a couple of holiday seasons while visiting my family and I really like the facility and staff. Plenty of parking, too. Spotlessly clean, lots of TV's, new and well maintained cardio equipment, a variety of classes, plenty of weights, bosu, personal trainers on staff, spa-like atmosphere, smoothie bar... etc... They even had a really nice holiday party for their members, with plenty of food and wine and a big raffle (prizes included a huge Lancome gift basket, membership credits, spray tan gift certificates, etc) and a fundraiser for one of their instructors husbands who was recently paralyzed. They are also a member of the IHRSA, so if your club participates you can work out at this club while traveling... without being a member.. simply paying the normal guest fee. As much as my mother would loooooove for me to move to North Carolina, (I'm from California) ... that's not happening.. ;-) However... if I did, I would consider becoming a member here. The classes I took could stand to be more intense (I took Zumba and Cardio Kickboxing and it was NOTHING compared to the intensity of California classes) but the facility and everyone involved is very nice.
