I leave pictures at restaurants, but if I took pictures at a gym, people would be creeped out, so I ain't doin' all that. I have been on this app for a long time so you will just have to trust me, and if you do trust me, then I can tell you that this is a 4.77-star gym, which we will round up to a 5. First let's hit the positives. This is a big gym. If you like big gyms, you're in the right place. And you're going to get a great workout. Unless I have to get back to work, I usually work out for about 1 hr and 15 minutes. If I need to get back to work, about 15-30 minutes but intensity way up (shorter time = higher intensity). If you want Smith machines, you will find heaven. The big 'negative' is that it's no racks but the Smith machines and free weights will get the job done. If you go at an off-peak time, you will have plenty of room for free weights. If it's lunch or dinner, good luck! They have two Pec Decks and one is the best Pec Deck I have ever experienced. It controls the correct motion/for for you. I feel a superb burn after using that mfer! You also get a bunch of universal machines with cables, an ab workout room, and more cardio equipment than you would find in a training facility for Ultra Marathoners in Argentina. Stairclimbers--I like the stairclimbers but they don't have as many hang-on-for-dear-life areas as AF did. But that can be a good thing. I don't recommend using the one closest to the rail/front door because people walk through that little crevice and it's awkward--it's always going to be awkward when you drip sweat on a stranger. Well .... most of the time. The staff is great. Always working and friendly. Don't listen to the Karens and Chads. For the record, I have never had a problem with any Karens but have yet to meet a Chad I like. The bathrooms are okay. Only two urinals and two stalls. This doesn't seem to be enough for the amount of traffic they get but we survive. Overall, I highly recommend this gym. Keep in mind, they charge your debit card, not your credit card. Also, side note to the dudes in the gym--the other dudes there aren't your competition; they are there for the same exact reasons as you. You're competing against yourself (if you want to be happy and have a sustainable fitness lifestyle). read more

After checking out all the Planet Fitnesses in the Lake Norman area, this one became my regular. They have all the equipment I look for; Total Body Enhancement, the newer stairmasters and Hydromassage beds (loungers too but I just want the bed). The woman's locker room is a good layout and the showers are hot. The gym floor has a good layout with room to work. the staff are on top of cleaning and are friendly and helpful. read more

Trying to get back in shape and augment physical therapy. Had hip replacement surgery last March and the Surgeon wanted me to wait till things had healed a bit before starting Physical Therapy. Did not push the issue but when I saw a video of me from Carlsbad CA meeting my Daughter, I noticed how wobbly I was. Decided to check in with the Surgeon and he recommended Physical Therapy which I started at Lakeside in Rosedale, Huntersville and we did that for about 7 weeks. Wanted to do more since I had an upcoming trip to Israel and wanted to accelerate the process. Checked with the Physical Therapist and they thought it was a good idea and a neighbor who is a real Gym Rat said I would probably enjoy Planet Fitness. New Years Eve, I signed up on line and went in for the first time 8 days ago. Cody worked out an exercise program for me but he asked for input from the Physical Therapist which Amanda provided the next day. Same day as Amanda and Cody worked out the program, I went in for orientation. A lot of equipment with a lot of emphasis on upper body strength. For hips, the stationary bicycle machine and the hip press with accomplish most of what I want. It's nice and clean and the equipment is well maintained. Only saw one pad that needed to be resticked but otherwise clean and neat Excellent staff but the way they are set up is that they work with for as much as you need them because in the end, progress is only made by how much you put into it. There is currently six machines down and both the hamstring machines have been down for over a month. I've spoken to the manager and the DM, I even reached out to PLanet Fitness via FB. It's funny how they take my money out for maintenance fees twice a year on time but they can't get the equipment fixed on time. This is ridiculous and sad. Get the equipment fixed Planet Fitness! Why do you guys keep telling me to reach out to other emails and managers . I've done my part! I pay my maintenance fees twice a year. Fix the equipment or refund my maintenance fees. read more

Facility continues to deteriorate. Staff does an excellent job of keeping place clean but are detached from members because they spend their remaining time with their faces in their phones Owner not repairing equipment or other bathroom fixtures. I almost never write poor reviews, partially because I feel like people do their best job for the most part.. I just had the WORST gym shower experience of my life.. I just traveled 9 hours straight from New York on a multiple day journey, without a shower. I am only 15 minutes From my final destination and stopped for a much needed warm, enjoyable, efreshing and relaxing shower.. Espevially because I am in great need of a good and restful night of sleep.. Unfortunately for me, .the water never warmed up. I let it run for 10-15 minutes. (I just came from New England and it can take that long for the hot water to come through the pipes..) Eventially I put my cloths back on and went to the front desk to ask the employee if they could check to see if the hot water was switched on. I was informed that was the warmest the water got!.. We are talking cold hose water.. I would have had a more enjoyable time cleaning myself in a cold river.. Part of the reason why I have a planet fitness membership is so I can shower along my cross country work trips. This planet fitness failed miserably. Now I am in a significant amount of physical pain, not only from my long drive, but also from so much shivering as a result of how cold the water was.. I am unsure if the water heater is in need of replacement or if they choose to keep the water set so low to a point where it never even warms up the water in the water heater. Maybe they don't even have a water heater.. All the other showers were dry, so it isn't like they ran out..I am feeling so very disappointed on so many levels.. Please fix this issue. read more

Nice gym, very clean. It's almost like the staff requires the wiping down of equipment after each set...most Everyone cleans up. Sometimes the cleaning is too much, as my picture shows... Which gets annoying because I have to wipe off the excess. One other beef is it doesn't have all equipment that I would think a gym would need - no preacher bench for curls, no shoulder rotation machine, etc. read more

This gym utterly sucks!! The girl in the morning, the not so thin one with her attitude didn't let me in because I I had a guest. I pay two different membership. . For a technicality she didn't let me in like I was committing a crime. Like seriously ?!! didn't know she was owner of this joint. I believe her name is Caroline. Great location and affordable! The cardio area is huge!! I love that they have the rolling stairs machine, it's tortuous and always available. The gym is quiet and everyone is respectful to each other's space. I am very excited about the cross fit, abs, 12 minute and 30 minute workout station in the back. They areas are in the corners it's very popular. read more

I love the size of this location, how quiet it is at night but I have had enough of this awful staff. They either sleep in the office or workout during their shifts. I'm all for getting your workout in but when people have to wait at the desk for help because you won't stop your workout? Come on. This is at least the fifth time I've had to go ask them to use the Black Card amenities while they get a lift in. I've seen folks come in looking for help, wanting to buy a beverage, wanting to use the massage chairs and the workers are just no where to be found. This has been going on for literal MONTHS and I've seen so many people frustrated with it as they waste their time searching the gym for help. I know there are different workers here almost nightly but please please please make sure you're doing your job first before ignoring us all to get your workout in. read more

Good workout, dirty Dyson hand dryers in bathrooms and no paper towels (even they are everywhere else). Gross! It looks like mold growing in the hand dryer and blowing in your face. Clean that! And keep the paper towels full in the gym area- thanks. read more

This Planet Fitness is so much more than I expected. This is place of healing. Brittany has a degree in post operative physical therapy. When I first met her, I imagined Brittany would show me how the various machines worked. She put me on a regiment to help with recovery from surgery. I have progressed at a much better rate than when I was paying $85 a session at a local clinic. ALL of the staff is not only polite and helpful, but also highly knowledgeable. Exceptional staff. This is a great gym. My wife and I went for about 2 years and loved it. We plan to go to another Planet Fitness when we move soon. It is extremely affordable; great equipment (we use the treadmills a lot and they are great); check-in takes 1 second; the whole gym is very clean, including the locker rooms; and the staff is extremely friendly and eager to help. What a scam. Last March, just as COVID was hitting, I decided to quit this gym. Easier said than done. I went on their website and was surprised to find you can only stop it by going there in person or sending a letter. I sent a letter and assumed it was a done deal. Not long ago, I guess when they reopened, I was charged a partial fee. I called last week and was told by "the manager" my account would be cancelled. But not so -- I was charged again a few days ago. I called again today and was told I would have to send a registered letter or come in, in person, and there was nothing this person could do. He also said they did not have a corporate phone number. Why is it I can get ANYTHING else done online -- but Planet Fitness "has to have my in-person signature" to stop charging my bank account!? And what's $10 or $20/month x 10 Million members? While it's true, I probably couldn't have been more rude than I was on this call, neither could the person who "helped" me on the phone. read more

Very disappointed to see that barely anyone is wearing masks, even though there are posters saying to keep your mask on! The staff are wearing masks, but are not enforcing others to wear one. This is the worst gym to go to. I've been a member of PF for a while and recently changed my membership status to $10 a month and did not realize you did not get the state to state visits. The staff didn't offer me 1 day free to get things worked out with my home gym in Virginia. I left there and got a sweet deal at Gold's gym. This gym is great! So many good things to say. There is plenty of equipment for everyone. Even on a busy Monday night, you can still find a machine of your choice. The weight area is very spacious-there are 2 machines of the same equipment, so you never have to wait. The staff is always friendly. The equipment is always clean and never out of order(like some "other" gyms). The fact that this gym is open 24 hours a day makes it very convenient to work out at any time. No excuses now! Also, there are plenty of parking spaces. Even on the busiest weeknights, I can always find a parking space. I would definitely recommend this Planet Fitness to anyone in the area. General manager told his staff members me and my friend were annoying and asked why they were talking to us. I find this very unprofessional as we are both paying customers and we've both only spoken to him one or two times.
