In February 2016 I weighed in at 248lbs and had never done a chin up before. It's now July 2018,…read morethe scale says 195lbs, and I can crank out 8 chin ups without stopping. I mention this because even though nutrition is probably 75% of the day to day in health and weight loss, this place certainly helped me get to where I am now. Snap was the first real gym I ever visited, and though I've tried a few other places over the last two years I've settled back in where I started. A well equipped gym is an invaluable tool and Snap covers all the basics. To the left of the entrance are five each of treadmills and elliptical machines, as well as three stationary bikes. The back left corner has a smith machine, a plate loading leg press and a machine leg press (and usually the scale is hiding back there too). Left of center are five or so different machines for biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Dead center is a large machine that has two cable pulleys and a lat pull down all in one, and directly behind that is an assisted pull up / assisted dip machine, with the restrooms right next to that. Right of center is the majority of the free weights. There are two dumbbell racks going up to pairs of 100lbs, a rack of fix weight curl bars (also up to 100lbs), five or six different benches, and three plate loading machines, one each for calves, chest and shoulders. Far right wall, starting in the front moving back we have a small nook with 5 different abdominal machines. Next is one squat rack and one bench press with an open floor space typically used for dead lifts or box jumps. Almost to the back there is a single rowing machine then the "studio" area. This back area is a wooden floor with a big mirror running along one side, a long metal frame over top with 3 separate pull up bars, a small rack with some 5lbs-25lbs weights, a slightly larger rack with kettle bells (up to 50lbs maybe?) as well as storage for foam rollers, yoga mats and resistance bands. This is also the area they hold the Intensity group fitness classes. Snap Fitness really is a nice place to get a workout in. On top of all the equipment they offer personal training sessions and group fitness classes if you need a little help. The staff is pretty good at keeping the place clean and putting in work orders should something need fixing. There are a few things I wish were different here though, most notably only having one squat rack, one bench press station and only single stall restrooms. Unfortunately those things are mostly a space issue. There was a time when I hoped they would absorb the vacant space next door and expand, but it seems that opportunity has come and gone. I'll just have to settle for really good instead of perfect.

I love this gym because it has a great variety of equipment yet, is not overwhelming large. This location also features recovery areas which includes sauna room, excellent massage chairs, hydromassage chairs, tanning and red light therapy. There is also a small exercise room separate from the main area that contains equipment for a more creative workout (e.g. bands, balls, straps, punching bag, rope, stools , etc). Access to the smaller exercise room and recovery areas requires an additional fee to the basic membership fee. The gym is overall clean / well-maintained although there are a few cardio machines that seem to be chronically broken (e.g. still useable, but some buttons may not function). However, I am sure this is not atypical for equipment encountering such high traffic! I rarely encounter staff since it is 24-7 access (which is another perk for me), but on the few occasions that I have they always seem pleasant. Also, because the facility is key card access there have been times when there is a malfunction which prevents access to certain areas or even the gym itself. Thankfully these occasions have been rare. I definitely plan to continue attending this location and would recommend.

This leaves the area concentrated around the heavy weights and complex fitness equipment partially dark during the entire evening hours. I asked the front desk staff if they could leave the lights on since there were many patrons and staff still using the facility and they vehemently denied saying they were instructed to turn off the lights every night regardless. I asked if it was an unreasonable request to leave the lights on during business hours and they said I was "elitist" for making such a request. Forget the fact that it's disrespectful to turn the lights off on customers while they use a facility, but it is unsafe or possibly downright dangerous to leave a partially dark fitness center while both staff and members are in it.

This is a female-only gym…read more I have worked out here as a guest for a couple of holiday seasons while visiting my family and I really like the facility and staff. Plenty of parking, too. Spotlessly clean, lots of TV's, new and well maintained cardio equipment, a variety of classes, plenty of weights, bosu, personal trainers on staff, spa-like atmosphere, smoothie bar... etc... They even had a really nice holiday party for their members, with plenty of food and wine and a big raffle (prizes included a huge Lancome gift basket, membership credits, spray tan gift certificates, etc) and a fundraiser for one of their instructors husbands who was recently paralyzed. They are also a member of the IHRSA, so if your club participates you can work out at this club while traveling... without being a member.. simply paying the normal guest fee. As much as my mother would loooooove for me to move to North Carolina, (I'm from California) ... that's not happening.. ;-) However... if I did, I would consider becoming a member here. The classes I took could stand to be more intense (I took Zumba and Cardio Kickboxing and it was NOTHING compared to the intensity of California classes) but the facility and everyone involved is very nice.

My husband has been going to True Warrior for a few years now. In those years I have seen his…read moreself-confidence grow, his energy and focus improved, his desire to be healthy and strong increased. It changed the way he leads our family, being more present and wanting more for us as a family unit and wanting to have more of an impact on others - esp those of a younger generation. Earlier this year we wanted to find a family friendly MMA environment for our 9 year old - somewhere to build up his confidence, to feel encouraged, not afraid or broken down or pressured whenever he didn't quite get it right. When he told me about the Tiger cubs program we tried it out for our son. The 1st few weeks of my son attending he was all smiles...hesitant to learn something new but smiling. The kids are helpful and supportive, as they're encouraged to help teach new kids as a way of also earning stripes and advancing. Coach Toby's style of teaching is admirable - teaching them beneficial skills while also having fun; never putting the kids down or making them feel less than or shaming them, but encouraging them and partnering them with the right kids to help them. As a mom that meant a lot to me knowing I could trust this coach to have my son's best interest at heart. Shortly after, what was supposed to be just me observing turned into me joining my husband boxing, and then also joining the Warrior Women's Self Defense class on Sundays. Up until that point I was just a mediocre long distance runner, training every few years for a half or full marathon. Joining True Warrior/Warrior Women has made me feel stronger and capable (mentally and physically), more aware and wiser, and part of a community of women/men who support each other. Saturday family Boxing Day has made such a positive impact on my family - a day we look forward to working out together and training together, being close and stronger...together. That's what this school promotes - community, strength, skill, people helping people, faith and positivity, all in it together. We are grateful to Coach Toby and Coach Ryan for all they do and how they do it! Their skills are unmatched and amazing to see, but how they teach it and coach others is impressive. It's an environment that can be intimidating walking into, but walking out of those classes you feel welcomed, included, empowered, absolutely humbled at times (haha!), thankful, unified. I absolutely love this school and what it's done for my family!! -Rodriguez fam
