While in Charlotte for a work event, a few colleagues and I decided to venture over to Cyclebar for the Tuesday @ 6AM class with Ali as the gym in our hotel was under renovations. We were able to take our first ride at this studio for free and the representative who called us to help us get scheduled made sure all of our bikes were together for the class. Once we arrived, the person at the front desk greeted us and showed us around the studio (lockers, area to get ready, shoes/ check-in area, etc). We were then taken to our bike which they help you set up if you need it. The studio room is dark with only a couple of lights and looks more like a club - it's fun! The class itself was fantastic and was fitting to the theme of that day! Ali had great music and included fun choreography which provided an extra good workout. Our team loved it so much that we went back the next two days to ride with Kristen and then Ali again and more people joined us each time. I would definitely sign up for the monthly membership with them if I lived in the area! Great studio! read more

Today, February 10, 2026 i went to the 6:35 class given by Madelynn. i was deeply offended by her behavior. On the two big screen video screens during class she played a video of two guys naked and making out in a bed and then there was another scene where the two guys were sitting on a couch and then one leaned down to the man's crotch and unzipped his fly in preparation for oral sex. What the heck??? I have done about 20 classes here and I had never seen anything but helpful statistics on the board. Apparently Madelynn bought her own video to go along with the music. Completely inappropriate. I don't want to see sex on the screen gay or straight during my workout. I saw others in the class looking at the screen purplexed. I thought the scenes from the video were done and i was going to try to forget it--then the scenes started playing from the beginning. They were on a loop! I walked out of the class midway thru fuming. I complained at the front. The ladies upfront shook their heads and apologized. They credited me back from the class. Shame on you Madelynn. Keep politics out of things and just teach the class. I felt disgusted-like i was forced to watch gay porn. Whoever owns cyclebar-you need to know about this and correct it immediately. read more

I've been a member here for a little over a year and it has been such a blast! I wasn't a very consistent person when it came to getting excercise and this place has changed my schedule for the better. I first tried out a class on class pass and I was instantly hooked. The class itself is super challenging and makes you stay engaged but they fly by so fast because the instructors are so much fun and encourage everyone throughout the class. You are always given the option to make adjustments to the class that fits your style/energy and I've never felt pressured to fit in. When you arrive, you check in on the iPads at the front and borrow cycle shoes for free if you do not have your own. Then, when you turn around the corner there are free lockers to use while you're in class. They also have bathrooms, showers, water, coffee, and sometimes they give out free stuff like energy drinks or treats! If you haven't tried cyclebar, you should give this location a shot because it's so rewarding and fun! read more

This place is so much fun, I was invited to a birthday ride here on a Sunday with about 30 others and the guy doing the class was high energy with great music which really made this super fun for me as I have never enjoyed cycling. This class was mostly cycling but combined some strength training as well as each bike has 4lb and 6lb weighted bar on the side so you really get a full body workout. They have everything you need for class, water, towels, lockers and shoes that connect to the pedal of the bike...........sweet! After the 45 minute class we were treated to fruit, cheese and mimosa's. They also sell workout gear here. We had lots of fun during class, but be warned that the soreness is real from this class. read more

If you want your workout to feel like a well catered, high energy party, then this is the gym for you. Opening this week, this family run business really focuses on bringing a positive atmosphere to the cycling experience. They have free use of clip in shoes with each class, free water bottles with room temperature and ice cold water on tap. When you get to your assigned bike, it's already set up with a fresh cleaned towel and weighted bar. General amenities include two unisex shower/changing rooms, and two unisex bathrooms. They also have free use of lockers that you set the combination on, so there's no key to lose. As for the classes, you're in a dark room lit up like a hot night club, complete with live DJ and an awesome leader called a "Cycle Star" who motivates the class with vibrant energy and also tells you what resistance and rpm you should be at for each song in your workout. The specked out bikes are connected to a main computer, so the instructor can post the "class rankings" on the main front screens, so you can see how you stack up with your fellow classmates. But, don't worry, it goes by user name that you set up, so you can keep it fairly anonymous if you want. So head over to King street and try these guys out. I know I'll be back. read more

I'm visiting from Los Angeles and have been going to Soul Cycle for 2 years. When I didn't find a location in Charlotte I looked for just a spin class and stumbled upon Cycle Bar. I took an uber there and arrived around 7:30am. The first class was at 8 and they were already open! As soon as I walked in some one greeted me with open arms. She could tell it was my first time, when I told her I was from LA she shared she was from San Diego and we immediately connected. They got me registered for my first class, gave me shoes and a free water bottle!!! So cool. I felt like I had been there a million times, the customer service was extremely good. Once in the class, the volume of the music was good, lighting was good, quality of the bike was good. There is a monitor on your bike to track what you are doing and the instructor tells you what settings they would like you on. I'm kind of type A personality so this distracted me a bit because I became so focused on the numbers that I couldn't clear my mind and JUST exercise. But mid way through the class I covered the monitor with my towel and it definitely made my work out better. The clipping in on the bike was also a bit different from my other spin classes, but clipping out was easy. There is a bar for the weights section of the class (I thought that was so cool "Cyclebar"). After class I got to refill my water bottle, grab fruits and they had chiropractors there and I got stretched out and a mini massage. That was AWESOME! I come to NC once or twice a year, I will definitely return here! read more

If you're looking for a fun and enjoyable workout, CycleBar is for you! Now I've been doing some true cycle workouts lately, and if you are a cyclist you may think this place is a joke. They focus more on riding to the beat, tap backs and using a variety of weights to help raise you heart rate and make you SWEAT! However in my opinion it's not a great ongoing workout. I don't think you should ever be going over 130+RPM ever and there have been a few classes where the instructors push you to go above and beyond. I fear that you will hurt yourself, and spinning that fast without resistance is not effective. Personal opinion!! However don't get my wrong! I love coming here because I like to have fun, jam to the music and occasionally to a workout outside of my normal routine. Not sure if it's something I could do all the time but it will be challenging for you- especially if you're new to cycling. read more

Whatever you do, don't sign up online!!! They charge you a $99 "enrollment fee" that doesn't apply to any classes. They said it's like purchasing a ticket on Ticketmaster through their website. What?! Who would pay $99 for a transaction fee? Enroll in-person to avoid this fee. Actually, avoid this place completely!!! They are extremely rude and don't care about providing decent customer service. The general manager is the worst, biggest attitude and ego I've ever encountered. Get out of customer service, you are terrible at it. Beware of the 30-day cancellation notice as well. They make it hard to cancel and when you do, you are still charged another month BUT only get to use your rides for 2 weeks after canceling- WHAT?!! Just bad and half the bikes don't even work. read more

I love CycleBar - think Flywheel, but with much newer equipment and better pricing promotions. I have been coming to this place since it opened. Shannon and Erin are my favorite instructors. They are so motivational and they play awesome music! I would give this place 5 stars, but they really need to offer better class times. Only morning classes are offered on the weekends and no afternoon classes. Why not a noon class at least (and not an Express 30 min class that sometimes pops up)? And during the week, M/W evening classes start at 5:30pm. Usually these classes are about half full and I would bet it's because it's just not enough time to get there from work. Why not 5:45pm? And why not any noon classes during the week? Also - I really hope they are cleaning these bikes between classes. They ask the class attendees to wipe down the bikes after class (which Flywheel doesn't do - as soon as class ends, Flywheel employees rush in and scrub down the bikes). I have no idea if CycleBar employees are doing any additional cleaning of the bikes - and I think they should be! I don't want to be on a bike that has only been haphazardly wiped down by a class patron. read more

It may be the endorphins talking, but CycleBar is a consistently amazing workout experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a spinning studio. Staff is always friendly and helpful in person, on the phone, and via email! I have seen a staff person work with a latecomer to get their bike set up and then troubleshoot an apparent issue with the bike (the only issue I have ever seen pop up during a class) in the dark with music blaring, and then still follow up with the client after to class to reassure them that they would not be charged because of the technical difficulties. The overall flow of the studio makes sense so new-comers don't feel quite as lost and there seems to always be enough staff on hand before and after to classes to help with questions or welcoming a new client. The classes themselves are exhilarating with lighting the instructor actively controls throughout the class and fun music. Bikes are arranged on levels and all of them face a mirrored wall so if you want to you can keep an eye on yourself from almost any bike. The lighting and intensity of the classes make the mirrors practically optional, I found it easy to ignore them when I wanted to. I have been in themed classes, classes where the instructor was doing high kicks to keep us energized, there has been the occasional music video played during a class to take our minds off a hill climb, and even some 'races' towards the end of a class. Finally, Anthony and Caitlin are both fabulous instructors that both bring such upbeat, positive attitudes that I was always walking out of their classes feeling ready to conquer the world. read more

Loved the Wed. night hop-hop class. Heads up it's moving from 6:45 to 6:30pm in 2018. This studio treats first-timers right. It's easy to find parking in the lot they share. Plus you are across from Trader Joe's if you need to grocery shop after. Or maybe that's a bad idea as you will be very hungry. I was greeted with a water bottle and shoes in my cubby. I was given a quick tour of the facility and locker set-up. Everything is pretty similar to other boutique spin classes but they are super friendly and approachable. I don't recall the instructor's name but his class was amazing. It was like soul cycle and flywheel had a baby. You spin to the beat of the music but also have the handlebar computer with power, RPMs and torque, with a scoreboard for the class on monitors up front. The workout was great and you'll burn 700+ calories (for women)! The studio was a nice space, clean, with warm and attentive staff. Will definitely be back! read more

I've attended 14 classes here so far - 7 during their free trial run (which was a genius marketing move) and 7 with the 10 classes for $99 pass I bought right after the free class blast ended. Another great offer they have now is if you attend 10 classes between 9/5 - 9/25, you get credited with 10 free classes the next day. Nothing pushes me like an incentive to get something free, so that has kept me motivated not to skip a class! The Good (why I gave CycleBar 4 stars): * The classes are intense and effective. I always leave drenched in sweat, so don't even think about hitting up Trader Joe's and Target after class. For the benefit of everyone around you, go to class and then go home and shower! * The instructors are nice, motivating and supportive. Notice I didn't say they were easy - that's not what they are there for. They push you to do more than you thought you could and I've seen every one of them make an effort to talk to participants before and after class. My favorites are Shannon, the manager who I can already tell will have a huge following, and Christy, who has awesome playlists and even encouraged me to dance on my bike (which is frowned upon in some places). * The staff is friendly and seemed to recognize my twin sister and I almost immediately as regulars. The twin thing probably helped with their memory, but it is always nice when you can tell they are making an effort to know who is coming and going and you aren't just another face. * The complimentary water bottles, mimosas after brunch, drinks after happy hour, mints, lip balm, hand sanitizers and fruit are all a nice touch. Hopefully those are permanent and don't go away after they've been open awhile. The Opportunities (why I took off 1 star): * The parking lot is going to be a nightmare, especially for the night classes. I almost had an anxiety attack one night when I was circling the lot before the 5:30 class with no empty space in sight. I was about to call and tell them to cancel my class when a lady in the parking lot told me there are spots right behind the building. Yes, there are, but that lot is SHADY and needs to be fixed up before I regularly use it as an option. Once was enough for me. * A clueless, skinny male must have designed the bike placement for that studio. I couldn't figure out where all the random bruises on my upper body were coming from until I tried to squeeze myself between the bikes yet again and I realized why. If it means putting less bikes in the room, so be it. Getting to and from your bike should not be almost as difficult as class itself. I have no shame admitting I don't always get a wet wipe after class to wipe down my bike because I'm not willing to go through that again! * Since I already mentioned cleaning, I really hope the staff does more to clean those bikes between classes in addition to asking the class to use wet wipes on their bike. If you want to take people from Flywheel, remember that Flywheel doesn't ask the class to do anything after class ends and I've seen their staff cleaning furiously between classes, even if they only have 15 minutes to do so. * I wish they had more class times on weekends, especially when they are having challenges to have 10 classes by a certain date. I think a 12:30 class on Saturday and an 11:30 class on Sunday would be successful additions to the schedule. * I hate the inconsistency with how the "Connect" song is conducted in each class. I loved how in the first few classes I went to, the instructor would tell us to focus on why we came, tell us a speed to aim for, and we'd just zone out while the instructor either stayed silent or said inspirational phrases. Something changed and now half the time they don't even say it's the song to connect and they give instruction! NO! I looked forward to it every class and I hate how now I don't know if we'll have that moment in class. * I do like this instructor otherwise, but I was furious when I went to a class and the instructor got off her bike and started telling people in the front row to go faster and we shouldn't sit in the front row if we didn't want to set the example. I almost screamed when she HIT ON MY BIKE and told me to pedal faster. Granted, I'd had a rough day at work and it took all I had to come to class instead of zoning out in front of Netflix, but that was the last thing I needed! Part of the beauty of spinning classes is anonymity and not being singled out in the crowd. It's tough for many people to go to group fitness classes because they don't want to work out in front of people and their biggest nightmare is being noticed. They would have never seen me again if that was my first class. Just say no and back away from my bike! * Beware of bikes 49 and 50 if you don't want to bike in front of the crowd. I was on bike 50 my very first class and I hated it. Everyone can see you clearly and I was very self conscious. Just take them out of the room and keep them around as spares. read more

WOW. If I could give CycleBar six stars, I would. This studio is an absolute MUST for any athlete. Whether you use it to mix up your regular routine (I'm a marathoner) or as your go-to exercise, the workout will kick your butt and give back at least as much as you put into it. I have never done spin prior to CycleBar (found out about this studio at Clt. Pride) and after a few classes, yes there is a learning curve for newbies, you are hooked. I have raved about this studio to everyone who will listen. Good energy and positive vibes hit you as soon as you walk in the door. Super friendly and helpful staff greet you and get you settled in completely (from finding shoes for you, showing you how to check in on the iPads, filling up a complimentary water bottle, and helping you set up your bike). You don't have to worry about feeling lost or uncomfortable if you're a newbie like me. You feel like you are a special guest of the studio as the staff is so attentive and plentiful. There are so many cool freebie amenities (hand sanitizer, chap-stick, towelettes, hair ties, fresh fruit, etc.) and the clean showers are stocked with products (and I love that they provide little plastic bags to stash your sweaty gym clothes in and towels - no carting your own back and forth). The workout itself is topnotch. The instructors, known as CycleStars, set the bar very high but don't make you feel uncomfortable as they remind this is "your ride" and "your time to leave everything else at the door." There are all types of bodies and fitness levels in the class. The CycleStars congratulate you at the door as you leave and are engaging with any questions, concerns, or general small talk (I've enjoyed getting to hear their fitness stories). There is a good mix of resistance training (hills) and speed work during class and I LOVE that they dedicate one song to an arm workout (my triceps are still sore from Sunday's class). There are some themed classes (my favorite is the Friday, Happy Hour 5:30pm class that concludes with a celebratory drink!) Another HUGE plus for me is the stellar customer service. I have emailed the owner Lisa at least five times already (again newbie stuff) and she responds usually within an hour. Lisa always addresses my questions and doesn't seem annoyed with all my inquiries. The very prompt and responsive attention from the studio is noteworthy as I have not experienced the same awesome customer service from other local spin studios. The class also sends out feedback surveys after each class and thus far it appears as though they read and implement suggestions. The only "negative" is that my legs are a bit sore post workout so I can only do a few classes per week (thus far). I'm looking forward to getting in better shape so I can do more classes. For me, this provides more of a full body workout compared to other studios where you are seated for most of the class. There is also a a song dedicated to arms which is an added plus! I've tried several spin studios in Charlotte and think that CycleBar is hands-down the best. I like that their bikes have monitors so that you can see what gear you're on, how many RPMs your getting, and other important metrics. That's the key thing that CycleBar has that is missing at other studios like First Wind or SWEAT. CycleBar also just exudes an overall luxurious feel with their amenities. The teachers are top-notch and super friendly. The only downside is that it is so expensive and unfortunately isn't really affordable for most people. The membership model is sneaky so beware of getting charged through auto payments. I am typically pretty vigilant about charges to my credit card but missed an October charge from Cycle Bar for $59 because they do not send email notifications of on-going payments and it's clearly purposeful - they make money off of people not realizing what they've signed up for. I was a member at YogaOne for years and each month I would receive a notification of charges - the same monthly payment to my email each month. CycleBar does not do this. I bought a four class package in September that I thought was what it was marketed as - four classes. I missed the subtext that said - this will auto-renew. Honest mistake as it's in light gray below the select box. When I called to have this rectified I was met with 'You can call our general manager, but she'll say the same thing, it doesn't make business sense to refund you.' I responded saying that it's clear I have not been in since September and had no idea I was even paying for classes. She said that she could not refund me for October. When asking another question she said, 'we have riders coming in for class and while I would love to talk to you about this, I do not have time right now' then reiterated to call the general manager who would say the same exact thing she did. She did reverse the November charge I caught on my statement, but would not allow me to use the 4 rides in October that I paid for unknowingly. I would not want to go back anyway because I was very disappointed in how this was handled but I at least would have appreciated the offer of allowing me to have the 4 rides back since I had no idea that it was even available to me in the first place. What doesn't make business sense is that they've lost a customer and someone that now, who has never written a yelp review, has gone to yelp to voice this. read more

So yeah, I'm on the spinning bandwagon. Naturally, I had to check out this new studio. It's a super clean place where everything is new. The bike is fully adjustable on the seat and handlebars that you can move up/down/forward/back. The class itself was pretty high energy. The instructors are incredibly peppy and they have fun playlists filled with modern and older hits. Definitely keeps you going when a great song comes on! I've taken several spin classes and I didn't feel like I got as good of a workout. I came out sweating, but not drenched with heavy breathing. It was also hard for me to gauge how well I was doing because they don't have an individual scoreboard on your bike, and the instructor only put it up at the beginning/end of the class. Hey, what can I say?!?! I'm competitive and want to push harder to see how many people I can beat out! I'm going to give this place a try and check out a few different instructors (I bought a pack of 10 classes on promo). The prices of their classes aren't outrageous, so it's an affordable spin class that's in a great location. If I had one suggestion for this place, it would be to have some lunchtime classes during the week!!! read more

Smartest marketing move ever. Offering 11 days off free classes to get you so addicted you have to buy a package. Was lucky enough to get to attend the VIP preview night, and have taken a couple of other classes since. Studio is nice, clean and trendy. Locker room in unisex. The studio has such a good energy. They have an actual DJ booth in there. Colored lighting and candles. If I am sweating my ass off I at least want it be dark-- makes it better somehow. I have really liked all 3 of the instructors I have taken a class with. All different-- all fun. They each do little competitions during the class. The bikes are state of the art and I love that there is actually a bar that you do arm exercises with for a couple of songs. Really makes it a total body workout. The great thing about cycling classes is you can tailor it to your fitness level. Too hard? Take off some resistance, slow down. Not hard enough? Add some resistance, speed. up. The class is so high energy that 50 minutes flies by. I always feel great afterwords. Even though I have a gym membership, I will be purchasing a package so I can come here too. I will say the bikes are realllyy close together, so hopefully you like your neighbor. You might be hitting them during class. read more

Wow! I was delighted to come to the VIP ribbon cutting ceremony for this brand new location! When you enter the cyclebar, you will be greeted by knowledgable and helpful staff who will sign you in. Once signed in you are given your cycle number and cycle shoes. Then around the corner I chose a locker and entered the cycle room. It's the "rave" type of cycling studio with dark room and flashing lights. I really enjoyed the very INTENSE workout. The great thing is that if you ever need to slow down and stop, that's perfectly fine. The cycle star instructor was really motivating and the DJ did a great job with the music. Arms were really incorporated a lot and I felt truly great afterwards. If this location was closer to my home I would definitely come for more workouts. read more

Had my first class today and absolutely LOVED It! I had only been spinning one or two times before but this was hands down my best experience. My coworker and I did the 4 classes for 39$ groupon and both plan on purchasing packages! The establishment was very clean, and the staff were very friendly from the minute we arrived. I love the free water bottles and fruit provided also! The class was high energy and I loved the music selection, I am not a morning person but at 6 this morning I was dancing on my bike haha! I took advantage of their free classes when they first opened and I am hooked! I bought a promo package and completed a 10-class challenge, which was such an awesome kick start to a cycling routine. The instructors all have their different personalities and for the most part they are energetic and experienced riders. This place differs from all the rest because they offer you a water bottle if you forgot yours, fruit, towelettes and there is no charge for shoe rentals. It's evident that they thought of everything to make your workout worry free. $20 a class is pretty steep when you're ballin' on a budget but they make it worth it with the entire experience. This place is a step above the rest. I'm a pretty competitive cyclist and CycleBar is definitely my go-to when the weather does not cooperate. The bikes are by far the best I've ridden to date. Best cycle class I have ever taken. I took Erin's 9:30 concert series class on Saturday and it was so much fun! They played music videos on the screen and she had a ton of energy throughout the whole class. The studio itself is very clean and everyone on staff was very helpful and welcoming.
