Barry's is expensive... but for me, it's worth it. It's a great atmosphere to workout. I frequently take my friends here. You won't get 1:1 guidance unless you ask for it, but that's fine with me. I feel encouraged to push myself while working out and most instructors leave you with words of inspiration. If you're having an off day, Chelsea's inspirations are the best! I will note that the music can be really loud, so sometimes I wear ear plugs to dampen the noise. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I've had to cancel a few classes due to last minute work meetings and they're understanding with me. I've been to a few other Barry's locations where you have to reserve classes weeks out and it's nice that I can sign up the day of (most of the time). Barry's Charlotte also has fun events - DJ classes, happy hours, brand sponsored events, holiday parties. The amenities are kept clean! I shower here quickly if I'm running to a meeting or dinner after. I've never had issues - products and towels are stocked. I've been a member since they opened in Charlotte and don't plan on leaving! Join me!

As a former ClassPass member in NYC, Barrys was always a must try so when I saw a Charlotte location, I decided to give it a whirl. I opted for a 3 class pack as I am currently part of a CrossFit box but just wanted to switch things up. I loved the customer service immediately when I walk in the door and how clean the gym was - from the floors to the walls - its literally spotless each and every time, the locker rooms are fully equiped with spray deodorant, hair ties, and other amenities. You always get a clean, dry workout towel as you enter the red room and a lavender scented, refreshing cool towel as you leave the red room. At the beginning of each class, the instructor asks if there are any injuries - if you have one, please BE SURE to tell them! They can help you modify moves in the class, and you don't want to risk hurting yourself. The instructor is super attentive ( never on their phones) clear and informative on what you should be doing and when. Dope space to vibe out, enjoy the music, and get real sweaty!! The only thing I wasnt a fan of was parking - it was a 30 min nightmare as all levels within the lot were filled to capacity - not sure what the resolve is because this area is high volume due to all the retail and restaurants so plan accordingly. Sidebar: I really appreciate Emory Yearwood (Manager) for adjusting my account as I was super sick last week as she didnt want me to lose my credits and also prevent the spread of any germs at the facility. Overall, great community, coaches and unmatched quality service.

I went to my very first Barry's Bootcamp class at the new Southend location last week. I was extremely nervous and intimidated before going to the class. Everything I've ever heard about Barry's is how hard it is...and I'm definitely not a runner, so the treadmill part of the class was terrifying to me. When I got there, I was welcomed by kind and energetic employees behind the front desk. They immediately greeted me and made it clear I sign in with them. This made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I've had horrible experiences at other gyms/workout classes where the staff aren't friendly or welcoming, and have felt lost about where to go or what to do. The staff at Barry's truly made me feel at home from the beginning. The entire studio is beautiful. It is so CLEAN! The locker rooms literally have everything you could need before or after a workout. There is clearly so much thought that has gone into their gyms and it makes a huge difference in the overall experience. Chelsea was the instructor for my class. Before she let everyone in the red room, she asked first timers to come into room. She quickly explained how the class was going to go and ensured us that modifying is OKAY! I loved that. It created such an inclusive and empowering community before the workout even begun. During the actual workout, I was pushed to my limits and ran faster than I've run in years. I loved the red room (it makes it look like your face isn't red at all!), Chelsea's playlist was bomb, and surprisingly, I loved the mirrors. Everyone in the room is focused on themselves. It doesn't feel competitive or hostile- it's really just you against yourself. I loved it. I will absolutely be going back. It may be pricey, but it's worth checking out if you're even the tiniest bit interested. OH, and they have a juice bar where you can preorder smoothies before your workout and they will be ready when you're done! I didn't get one this past time, but I am looking forward to trying on after my next class at Barry's!

I've been to Barry's a few times in NYC, but have fallen off my workout regimen for quite some time. I was in Charlotte visiting my in laws when I remembered Barry's opened a new location here! I booked without hesitation, but I'll admit I immediately regretted it. I grew pannicky, stressed, and nervous about my first workout in months. Let alone a Barry's workout! The women's locker room has you covered with spray deodorant, hair ties, and other amenities. The workout itself was awesome. I did the "double floor" workout so I was doing strength the whole time, which was grueling in a great way. Some things I'd change: there wasn't much of a "intro" for me, even though I was new to this studio, and admittedly I did feel a little lost when class began. That said, once I got into the groove of things, the class became 'easier'. Secondly, the hair ties are intended for super thin hair...so they don't really work for folks with thicker hair. I forgot my hair tie and had to rely on the ones they supply; it barely held my hair back. All in all: I will definitely be back!

I've been looking for a change since quitting my last gym and wanted something that would target my whole body for a whole class instead of only 20 minutes at other gyms. Everyone was friendly from the staff, owner, and even others attending the class. They took the time out to explain everything to me in detail, the process, what to look for, and the heart rate monitors you wear during the class. The class itself consisted of 6 stations, rowers, bench, weights, and cycles, and you do different kinds of workouts in each station for about 2 min and then switch to a different station. It felt awesome, and I felt like I was able to target every muscle I wanted to in just this one class. I took advantage of their black Friday deals and will def be returning to get my workouts. If you are looking around for different workout options, I def. Recommend scheduling your free intro class here and see what it's all about. This is their only location. They do have a parking deck, but the ticket can be validated. Also, some street parking if you're lucky enough to snag a spot.

The studio and equipment are top-notch, parking is free (validated garage parking), and they have showers! As far as the workout goes, I would say its a hybrid between F45 and Orange Theory. It's a circuit style workout, every workout is different, and the workout could include anything from battle ropes, slam balls, body weight exercises, assault bike, rower, dumbbells, kettlebells, pull ups, etc. Overall, it's a high-cardio class that incorporates strength training. Similar to Orange Theory, the class uses heart rate monitors (not required, but strongly encouraged). The goal of the class is to get "20 points," or 20 minutes at more than 70% of your max heart rate. If the above is the kind of workout you're looking for, then I recommend Volofit.

I was clear that I didn't want to be locked into a contract, so they suggested a month-to-month option, but it ended up costing over $200 a month. They were also constantly trying to upsell me on add-ons like red light therapy, pushing yet another membership even after I had already signed up. It felt excessive and uncomfortable. When I later decided to cancel, I was told I needed to give a 30-day notice, which was never mentioned when I signed up. The way it was communicated felt dismissive, basically telling me I would definitely be charged for another month. It feels like they treat your card like it's theirs to charge whenever they want. The atmosphere also changed completely after I became a member. Before joining, they were attentive and friendly, but that disappeared once I signed up. It's easy to get in, but a nightmare to get out. The classes were unreliable as well. The instructor I signed up for missed a lot of sessions, sometimes resulting in weeks without classes. I was promised discounts for those missed sessions, but they never followed through. At one point, I went almost an entire month without the class because the trainer quit, yet I was still charged the full amount. On top of that, I was offered a $50 discount that never showed up. Instead, I was actually charged even more. When I asked about it, they said it was a billing mistake, but that doesn't change the fact that I was overcharged without my consent. The only good class was the heat/and tone and the trainer left. And you have to book a class to go and guess what if you can't go they charge you 20 dollars! EDIT: She will say she gave me a discount, after a month with no classes I never got it! Why do you think I'm upset? She also says there was not any classes only for thanksgiving? Ha what a joke, the trainer was gone for weeks after and there was not a sub once. AND this whole month, I have not been able book a class, because there are NONE. I feel bad for the people who bought a heat/tone package and never have a class to go to. This lady is lying through her teeth.

She had mentioned…read moreloving her yoga studio and I was interested in joining a class based gym rather than continuing my YMCA membership. I would say I was a true beginner at yoga when I joined with very limited knowledge of yogi terminology and definitely not familiar with heated yoga. I started with Topaz class which I would consider a foundational class. Once I became confident/comfortable with the heat and teaching style from Topaz, I began to branch out to the other yoga classes like Diamond, Krystallos, Black Opal, and Bloodstone. Diamond is one of my favorites - it's super dark in the yoga room with candlelight and the flow is very slow. Black Opal is a fun class if you want to try fun poses like wheel or headstand/crow. Bloodstone and Krystallos are true workouts - hydrate before!!! I attended Arrichion for a whole year without trying the circuit training side of the gym but finally gave it a shot during the Athena challenge in May of 2025. My favorite circuit class is Warrior and is different every class. If you're nervous to try the circuit side, bring a friend and come a few minutes early and take some time to look at the TVs above the line of treadmills! There are video clips of what you'll be doing so nothing will be a "surprise" once class gets started. The teachers are very approachable during class and I feel able to ask questions easily no matter who is guiding that day. Around the same time I started trying the circuit side, I began booking private sessions with Jenna who is one of the owners of the studio. I attend with the friend who originally recommended Arrichion to me and our private sessions have helped us both become more confident yogis. Jenna makes unique flows tailored to what we want to work on and even takes our music recommendations to add in. I learned how to hold a headstand within 2 private sessions which was shocking considering I was a complete newbie only a year prior. The recovery options available just make the gym that much more loveable. I use the sauna at least once a week and occasionally brave the cold-plunge (worth it, just scary to get into it at first). The red light meditation room will 100% make you want to take a nap and is nice to do pre-class. This membership is 100% worth it, not only for my health but for the community and fun being a member brings. I am an unlimited monthly member and pay for the membership with my HSA account through benefits at work which the studio helped me figure out how to set up. Highly recommend this studio to anyone who will listen! :-) Do it for the pops!!!
