Did a tour through the cruise company carnival on June 4 wasn't sure what to expect as this was the first tour we did through the ship. Cycle Alaska does the tours and damn I'm impressed. It was organized very cleanly with all of us meeting at the pier and getting into one of two vans with trailers full of bikes. Along the way to the bike destination Dan and David we're extremely knowledgeable about the area and showcasing the highlights of Juneau with their own experiences of the area. During the tour the Dan and David explained the area and I thought I was in a history class on a bike. Enjoyed every moment of it. Weston was following us to ensure our safety and looked after us as we were busy learning. Good job to the team. At the end of the tour we got to wind down with a beer flight tasting which is great! What a way to end the tour. Dan David Weston

From the moment we met Lea, our tour guide we knew we were in good hands and about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Not only was Lea knowledgeable and oh, so capable, she was a wealth of local insight and legendary lore. Her team was just as spectacular; Lisa, Cami and Alena, all superstars in their own right. Safety was number one and wild abandon number two as the perfect combination of bike trek bliss. The secret trail to the remote side of the glacier was the money! Thanks Lea!!

Had an amazing time on our tour! Chase and Emilee definitely need a raise or huge bonus for how helpful they were. They had the best personalities and so down to earth! The weather was beautiful and the scenery was even better. I definitely recommend this company and make sure to request Chase and Emilee!

Saw an eagle while crossing a bridge.

We took a bike and brew trip to the Mendenhall glacier from an NCL cruise excursion. Emilie and Chase were wonderful guides and took great care of us. They made the trip interesting and fun. The biking is relatively easy with just one modest hill to climb. Highly recommend!!!

The worst excursion of the entire trip…read more What was bad? 1) The bikes. 2) The guide. 3) What there was to see. 1) The bikes were old, decrepid, beat up, and all together not worthy. The helmets smelled very badly of sweat. Not all of the bikes had the little mud flap on back. And we did go through mud. This was in sharp contrast to the wonderful bike tour experience we had in Skagway the day before. 2) The tour guide was the most awful public speaker I had ever encountered in my life. She started EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE off with "ummm.... now...." And I mean every single one. She spoke in the most droll, monotone voice. Evening news is more entertaining. She also spent the entire time wiping hair from her face, adjusting her hat... for the 30th time, or otherwise touching/blocking her face with her hands. 3) There is nothing to tour. There is nothing to see. The town used to do canning and logging. It doesn't anymore. But, the town is conviently located between 2 other big cruise ship ports. This is a case of the town going to the cruise lines people and saying, "If we build it, will you come?" Unfortunately for us passengers, the cruise lines said yes. My advice, stay on board that day and book a spa appointment.

This is without a question the worst experience that I paid to have happen to me. The only good…read morething I have to say about this is learning what NOT to do when talking to a group of people. There is an issue of locals stealing bike seats, so they just take them off... and store them in with the helmets. If you don't know what sweaty dirty seat-helmets smell like when you put them on, be happy. The gear was horrible, the town has nothing of interest, and the guide didn't know the first thing about public speaking. If you ever get a chance to do this while on a cruise, stay on the boat with screaming children, you will have a better time.

Foggy Mountain Shop saved our vacation! We were on an Alaskan cruise departing from Seattle with…read moreJuneau as our first stop. The airline lost our luggage so we got on the cruise literally with what we had on our backs. We had 45 minutes in Juneau to shop between the gangway dropping and our first excursion. As we got closer, I called the store and asked if they could please pull a few things in our sizes so we could just quickly try on and run out. We ran to the store from the ship and the ladies handed my husband and I stacks to take straight to the fitting rooms. They took excellent care of us and we were in and out in 15 minutes with enough to get us through the rest of our trip. We got pants, socks, hiking shoes, shirts, undergarments, and belts. We're so thankful for the staff of Foggy Mountain going out of their way to help us in a pinch.

What a great stop for all things outdoors! We had plans for some fun adventures this week and were…read morelooking for some better equipped shoes to handle all the rain, not just while here, but back at home . The service here was phenomenal. Locked up a hill away from the tourist traffic, but close enough to walk to the port. The store was clean, organized and had everything we were looking for including sizes. They even laced my shoes for me with different laces to my comfort while we had great conversation. I didn't feel rushed or pushed to buy some other pricier items. Great weather prof jackets, shoes, bags and more. Great stop with even better service.
