This place reminds me of the pharmacies I grew up with in both NYC and in Rhode Island...places where people honestly got to know who you were. The service here is certainly more attentive, personal and caring. We were able to chat with the staff...we were the only customers in when we arrived one late morning. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We were in and out in about ten minutes. I have nothing against CVS and frankly have done a lot of business at one of the CVS pharmacies in my town, there are several. But we may be slowly shifting more of our business to this lovely pharmacy for more personalized care.

The only reason I'm not giving this place more stars is because the workers who were there at this pharmacy on Washington Street in Weymouth are very nice and polite. The corporate pricing practices are really out of control. People often run into a pharmacy to buy quick items that they might need, but that they might usually have purchased elsewhere such as at a grocery store, for instance, you might go in and grab a quart of milk, some cheese or a box of crackers. This is where CVS skewers the customer through the chest. I know this is a convenient store, but that doesn't mean that a company should frequently screw the customer for example there's no reason that a box of wheat thins, a small box at that, should cost $6.49!!! One might do better, price wise, buying snacks in the ripoff stores at an airport! Or perhaps at a concession stand at a baseball stadium! Don't expect any bargains. Don't expect ethical pricing practices.

The line was horrific and the entire team took their cues (hate the customers) from this pharmacist (tall Asian guy). Today, I went to the Norwood CVS on Nahanton street. CVS is generally good, often clean, but even tho' they have a coupon and rewards card system, and…read moreyes they do accept expired rewards coupons, the prices are still WAY UP THERE. The pharmacists are actually REALLY GOOD, very nice, but they actually also overcharge you on some items, like prescription items. This pharmacy isn't a 24 hours one. Nonetheless, the workers do work very hard, are very professional, and deserve to be treated with respect. In this economy, I generally shop elsewhere most of the time now, unless I need something and can't get through traffic in time elsewhere. There's surely a number of good points, but the prices are really painful, even with the rewards card thingy. Come on people, you have to recall the Bargaineer! I think it had another name in between, but the Bargaineer is what I will always remember. I still remember that they had a clothes section, a fake flower section in the back and, my personal favorite, the stationary section in the middle. I used to buy romance novels that had the covers ripped off them for like 25¢ Maybe I should credit all of those Danielle Steel novels that I bought at the Bargaineer for becoming an English major?
