I called up to see if my prescription was ready, according to the app on my iPhone they said I was to be charged $174 but that is not correct, because Medicare cover 80% and my supplemental Blue Cross Blue Shield covers the 20%. I waited on the phone 30 minutes for someone to answer then they hung up on me so. So I went down in person , when I got there, the pharmacist wasn't able to give me my prescription without $174 charge. I had to wait till Danielle came in on Wednesday to get it through so my Medicare B would pick up 80% in Blue Cross Blue Shield would pick up the other 20%. I would give zero stars. The cashier was the rudest, most obnoxious person I have ever dealt with. Rude and dismissive. Needed something changed and they made it into a giant to do. I get conctant calls and texts that 3/4 of my prescriptions are ready - great! - except I'm not making two trips and I'm happy to wait for the 4th to be filled. Once it was filled I go to pick up all 4 meds. Mind you I'm getting calls and texts and voicemails that day saying all 4 are ready. They then tell me that they only have 1/4 and the other 3 likely were re-shelved after 5 days. I ask what to do she says I have to know all the names of the medications to reorder them. I don't know the names. So now I'm having to call my dermatologist and have her reorder them. Oh and I signed into their difficult website and there's absolutely no records of any orders or prescriptions. So I'm really not sure what they're thinking but what a huge waste of my time. A faulty system as well. I wish Oldens pharmacy wasn't closing they were actually high quality. read more

They never have prescriptions ready. You could wait a week. And still wait 45 minutes when you get there.

I am an avid couponer and visit pharmacies often due to the awesome deals they run. While Walgreens will never compare to CVS in terms of deals every week, Walgreens does sometimes have one or two promotions that are great. I find couponing great to get stuff for free or really inexpensive, even being able to donate goods occasionally. This store makes it extremely difficult to be a couponer. I shop at many different locations and this is the ONLY store that has EVER said that internet printable coupons are not valid at their store. I shop at all three of the Newton locations every weekend, and all three always accept all of the coupons I ever want to use. Store seems to be well stocked and well organized, but not a place for couponers. They said that too many people copied coupons so they don't accept them anymore, but I find it odd that it's just this particular location. I'll stick with my regular stores, I apologize for stopping here since I was in the area.... absolutely ridiculous. 1 star. read more

Called at 8am on 11/1/22 to see if they had a cough syrup that was on back order at every CVS. They had one bottle left. MD sent script right over. I went there about 45 minutes later to pick up. The young lady up front was wonderful. She did not have my insurance info as I use CVS but she looked it up and ran it through for the coverage before I even got there. Waited no more than a few minutes for it to be ready. Best experience I have had in a pharmacy. read more

Red headed pharmacy tech is an ABSOLUTE horrendous human being. Like beyond atrocious as is the pharmacist that was working with her on 10/28/22 just after 7:30 PM. Prescription that is literally life or death was "filled" two days prior and they suddenly had not filled it even when confirmed, they refused to fill it because they were closing, fine whatever I just asked for an emergency amount until they filled it, and even when they were told that I was experiencing symptoms blatantly REFUSED to help me. This is BEYOND negligent and should be reported, which is my next avenue. These two people should be fired immediately, this is unacceptable to refuse a person such necessary medications. This if utter negligence. Salt in the wound is trying to call another pharmacy panicked just to try to get help and the muzak and message saying it's October is pharmacist month, I sure hope these awful people aren't reflective of a likely very hard working group, these two people were AWFUL. read more

I called about a vaccine and they said my insurance covered it, and it would be in on Monday. I called back Monday to make sure the vaccine was received and they had no idea what I was talking about and offered no solutions. I called corporate support and they told me the request was denied but I was never contacted so I wasted 4 days waiting. Thinking I could get the very time sensitive vaccine today. This review is also for the Pharmacy, all you ever get is attitude, and a hard time as if your inconveniencing them by going there. Some staff have no clue what there talking about, I was told that they only had a certain amount of my prescription so I said ok that's fine I'll take what you have and come back when you have the rest and then they said well if you take the amount now you can't get the rest later....what? That makes no sense and he didn't know why so he asked someone else and they told him he was wrong. What if there was no one there to tell him he's a idiot and miss interpreted what was told to him, or he was doing this to a bunch of people and they were sent away thinking that's the policy. read more

Worst Walgreens ever. The staff smoke right outside the only entry making it hard for people to go get in or out of the store. The entire checkout area smells like a wet ashtray all the time. They have no regard for their customers or the law. I have also seen girls in the pharmacy fight with each other and give attitude to each other while the Pharmisit just watched. Do not use Walgreen's. The pharmacy is so so bad! I called my Doctor to fill a prescription 1 day early so I could go on vacation with my family but I made the mistake of using Walgreen's the refused to fill the prescription 1 day early. if it was a wrote for a 30 day scrip it had to be filled in 30 days not 29. I didn't know this at the time I Booked my flight. So I had to book another flight and it cost me a $150 rebook fee, So my family and I all changed pharmacy's They kept calling us so we did an opt out of phone calls for all 5 of us in the family. Then they called us for 5 times everyday asking if we wanted to opt in to the alert calls. I called them and told them to stop calling my house. the did for a 30 day period. Was with my parents this afternoon while they picked up their prescriptions. My dad has trouble walking so the drive through is convenient. Was shocked to see a huge window with no sliding door and watching a woman pick up a phone to talk to us? The wait was awful. We couldn't hear her and she looked like she didn't even want to be there. Cvs is so much smoother.....Open and close windows, very helpful employees, smiles, accurate and fast. This trip was awful. ALSO putting cards and IDs in the bags and handing them back to customers especially the elderly is not right. When we got home my father realized this morning when he picked up my mothers prescriptions that he left his cards in the bag. My mother ended up throwing it away that morning. I would NEVER recommend anyone to get their prescriptions at a Walgreens drive-through. read more

Reading past reviews, it looks like nothing has changed. Went to pick up 2 prescriptions yesterday that were called in from the doctor hours before. The young kid there said they only had one called in and it was out of stock. First, the 2 prescriptions were packaged gel and lotion. After an hour back and forth with the doctor's office and Walgreens, I went back and all of a sudden they now have them but I would have to wait 20 minutes for them to be "filled." What? they're already packaged! Meanwhile employees behind the counter are arguing with each other and no one is doing anything. Several times I asked about my pick up and got the same answer, 20 minutes. I was pissed! This whole thing took an hour and a half for boxes of lotion and gel while they were sitting on the shelf the whole time. This is the worst Walgreens I've ever been to. I am now switching over to CVS as I never had a problem with them in the past. Walgreens management has no idea how to hire and manage employees for that pharmacy. Every other day there are new young workers there, not knowing a thing about their jobs. Very unprofessional for a national chain. Never going back. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. For multiple times when I submitted a prescription I was told it would be there the next day. When I went in the next day I was told it was not there and would come in the next day. I was told the same thing the next day also. It seems like they are not communicating with each other and not doing what they say they will do. I do not recommend that anyone go to a Walgreens store and especially not to their pharmacy. They may mess up your prescription terribly and hurt the regimen you are on. read more

I love the staff here, they're fantastic. Sharon, Sarah, Charlene, Alex, Jessica (I think) and Sandy are all especially friendly and welcoming. I have noticed a change since new management took over. Outside lights off at 8pm when you close at 12? Lawsuit waiting to happen. They do a great job keeping everything well stocked and looking nice. The store is quite clean. read more
