CVS in Westport -specifically the Pharmacy- is absolutely terrible. The Pharmacy is a total mess and the people who work behind the pharmacy should all just be fired. Better yet they should just close the entire pharmacy down. For each script we have we need to visit the pharmacy at least twice and call our pediatrician 2-3 times as CVS always claims they "never got the script." New to Westport ... So far I'm completely underwhelmed, especially by the pharmacist at the Westport CVS. After having a prescription sent over three separate times, on three separate days, I was told the prescription would be on the next truck. After multiple days of calling, I was finally told there was no prescription listed for the "same" person. I called the doctor who stated they had verification that the prescription had been verified by CVS. The woman pharmacist, who I tried to explain this to, kept telling me just to leave my number. When I shared that I had already done this multiple times- she proceeded to hang up on me. This is less then an appropriate of a response. We will be finding a new pharmacy. read more

I've been to many CVS pharmacies in TX, CA, NY, NJ, HI and this is the worst one! The pharmacist is rude and short with the most unprofessional, cantankerous disposition I've ever encountered. I felt like there was some limit to questions I could ask as with each one in attempts to figure out why the insurance didn't register, she got more impatient and curt. And although I am sure I was spotted by at three workers behind the desk, none of them greeted me but one finally did after I made my keys jingle and fake-cleared my throat while standing against the "drop off" line minutes after a barely audible "be with you in a second" was muttered at me. They have an unusually wide reception desk. So if you had to put something down for them, you'd have to bend over onto the counter to place it on their half of the counter. Well, that's what I did the first few times I forwarded over my ID cards, pens, etc. Yet every time they returned something, they put it on their half of the counter. So... at this point, I knew I'd never return to this CVS and I was beyond annoyed by their unprofessionalism and messed with them a bit *chuckle* and placed their pen on the middle of the counter; not on my side of it, mind you, just the middle, and I swear because they had to reach over a bit, she chuffed and huffed. The power struggle and job dissastifaction here is real. Customer service is non-existent. Had I not needed to fill my scripts in a hurry, I would've done some research and saw all the negative Yelp and Google reviews and spared myself the aggravation and time on this dump of a pharmacy. I just transferred my entire family's RXs over to Walgreen's down the road. Have had multiple positive, professional and productive interactions with their pharmacist and staff. I ended up doing it and got really sick and threw up blood. Doctor ordered me a 30g prescription and they gave me one 15g, didn't notice til i was home so i guess i will be going back in a week. while waiting more than one person was told their prescription was sent to the other CVS they use in Boca. Parking in front is usually pretty hectic so go to the back but be careful in the alley that you have to drive through to get to the larger lot. read more

I never have a good experience at CVS. Here is today's experience: as usual, I had a hard time finding what I wanted; several employees were standing around, so I asked them; they told me the aisle, I said I had already searched there; they went with me back to the aisle and discovered (typical at every CVS, and these are all large stores with way too many items) they were out of it. I picked a substitute for what I wanted and went to pay. No line, but the ONE cashier was spending a very long time with one customer (remember that SEVERAL CVS employees were standing around throughout the store). So, to self checkout, which CVS is obviously trying to force all customers to use. One of the standing-around employees "helped" me with self checkout, but he was obviously not pleased with my frustration. My 13 year old dog has severe collapsing trachea which he requires a twice daily cough suppressant for. I came with my prescription from a very reputable hospital in the area (Cornell University Veterinary Specialists). The extremely rude pharmacist here refused to fill it for me and embarrassed me in front of a line of people claiming that she had no way of checking if the prescription was valid. Even though the prescription clearly states the hospital phone number and all other necessary legal requirements for a valid prescription. I drove straight from here to Costco and they helped me without hesitation and for a cheaper price. I will switch all my prescriptions to Costco from now on. read more

High traffic 24 hour pharmacy that gets jam packed in the early evening. Frequent lines during the afternoon and evening. Wide selection of face toiletries and beauty products, however this CVS is one of the most expensive I have ever been to. If you're looking for salon grade products, they have more than most. Parking is also a nightmare off of the Post Road during lunch time and rush hour. A second back parking lot is conveniently located and less of a hassle to enter and exit. Remodeled within the last few years to expand the beauty section and increase aisle width. There never seems to be enough staff working the counter. read more

They have lost my prescriptions, they have lost paperwork, they never call or they call too late, etc. Finest moment: they still call my sister saying her prescriptions are ready when she lives in SEATTLE even though she has called repeatedly to say that she no longer uses this particular pharmacy and no longer lives in the area. One Indian woman once told me that I am in fact my sister because they would never process a prescription under the wrong account... when I showed her my ID, she finally stopped defending her actions and called my doctor. I have put up with their incompetence for years because I live by Compo Beach, but they still make the same mistakes and don't take any accountability. The formula for filling prescriptions goes thus: if you need it immediately, they will swear upon their grandmother's grave that they did not receive a fax, email, phone call, smoke signal from your primary care provider or local dealer. If you still have a month's supply of the pills at home, the CVS roboman (Hello! This is a call from----CVS Pharmacy---West-Port-Connecticut), will blow up your phone with messages that increase in direness with each passing day. Don't forget to pick up your benzodiazepines or the pharmacist will return them to their original container and you will be SOOL. If on the other hand you are dying from Ebola and the blood is oozing out of your eyeballs, consider the wait a golden opportunity to shop for cosmetics, cozy fleece pants, nutritional supplements, periodicals, snack items, toiletries, cold remedies, baby needs, feminine hygiene products, and enough candy to give the entire town of Westport Type II diabetes. In other words, this is a shopper's and hoarder's paradise! I usually stick to the cosmetics aisles, because even in the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, it's impossible to have too many lipsticks. If the red haired lady isn't looking, I swipe a swatch of lip color on the back of my hand with all the frail self-loathing of a child predator (you know it ain't right, but you just can't help yourself). The haircare aisle is a close second to the makeup section. Make sure you've checked your balance before you troll this section in search of conditioner. They carry a $119.00 Kerastasse that is the best on the planet (even if it does contain silicones and parabens). When you buy this conditioner, remember to carry your 25% off coupon, or better yet, have the discount pre-loaded onto your card. After the haircare section, it's always a good idea to cruise the candy section. Nothing too high end here--no Jaques Torres chocolates--but enough high fructose corn syrup to keep your fifth grader doing cartwheels in the library of Coley El. Once you've loaded your basket with goodies, head on over to the feminine hygiene aisle, where you'll find all kinds of wonders. Back in the day, this was where your mother sent you to buy Kotex. Now it's the place you go to get condoms, lube and a cheap vibrator. I kid you not, they actually sell a vibrator in this store. It is surprisingly easy to purchase enough sex paraphernalia to stock a largish brothel. But do NOT try to buy Pseudafed without proper ID. If you are lucky, the ID check, fingerprinting and retinal scan at the pharmacy checkout to buy the pseudafed will take just long enough that your anti-ebola medicine will be ready for pick-up by the time you're through. Try not to beat the odds and come at night. At night, the real human employees go home and are replaced by people who couldn't get hired at walmart, circus dwarfs and Hitler Youth, which means you've got to allow an hour minimum to get your scrip! read more

Today I visited this CVS to get a flu shot. It was about 4pm and there were only 3-4 people in line at the pharmacy. When I asked about a flu shot, I was told that they were too busy but I could wait an hour if I wanted. Not wanting to wait an hour, I inquired when they weren't busy. The clerk at the pharmacy told me to come back on Saturday around 9am. After asking that they weren't busy on Saturday morning, I was told... "well not as busy". I told them that the Norwalk CVS on Route 1 sent me to Westport as Norwalk was out of the flu shot. I was then told I could wait 30 minutes.....but decided not to as I couldn't be sure if would only be 30 minutes and found the clerk very dismissive. I live in Westport and do most of my shopping at the Norwalk CVS...nicer people, better parking and a much more pleasant shopping experience. read more

There is always a long line, and they almost laugh at you when dropping off a script (usually sick) that you were hoping to wait for. You know when you go to a place time after time...leave there thinking I have to write a review and warn customers? The time has finally come. This CVS is the worst I have ever dealt with. I go in there 1-2 times a month - and it always sucks. The pharmacy should be ashamed. They are terrible, understaffed, and have ZERO customer service. They never remember you. Why do I need a Free CVS shopper card to validate who I am? I am PICKING UP DRUGS for god sake. They have me sign waivers for it! I do it every month! They have every piece of information on me to pick up my prescription - do they think I am running some covert operation to save $10? Im a customer! A regular one. Get it together. Fine tune the systems for your Frequent shopper incentive program to actually INCENTIVISE people to use their perks in a user friendly way.
