This CVS pharmacy is very hit and miss. Some days they are friendly and on point, other days I have to give them my insurance information "yet again" because they oddly revert to using something outdated like a GoodRX number. I would probably give them one or two stars because they tend to frustrate me with inefficiency with the insurance, texting me my prescription is ready and then saying it isn't when I arrive, or oddly deciding to stop texting and start calling me with an auto-alert about my mediation - I prefer texts and had my app account set up that way! But today, the lady who helped me was great! I went to pickup my prescription that was way overpriced (and when I called in advance the person who answered claimed they did indeed use the right insurance - but of course they didn't). When I arrive I tell her I have two prescriptions to pick up but she can only find one. I told her I just got a phone call the 2nd one was ready. She then looks into it and sees that they had applied one of them on an old account I had when I lived in another state many years ago. Why they would use that account when I they have my Maryland account information and have been using it for the past year I have no idea. She then checks and confirms the price I was given was indeed wrong and she fixed that - saving me almost $20. Lastly she said she would consolidate my accounts so this won't happen again. Now that's service! She should get employee of the year at this CVS, because many of their employees can learn a lot of customer service skills from her!!! read more

Drive-thru is temporarily closed. So you have to come inside and stand in the long line. Which can be a painful hassle for those of us with mobility conditions and limitations. I come to this pharmacy because they offer the drive thru option. The pharmacy counter attendant, Angie was very pleasant so she made the experience better. She was absolutely a hoot to watch, as she interacted with her customers. What a phenomenal attitude she exudes. Shows she really enjoys what she does! Angie for president!! read more

I was in a lot of pain, hadn't slept, and called in to see if my medication was ready for pickup since I'd received several calls saying the prior authorization was approved as well as texts. After going through several frustrating attempts to call because their prompt system works very poorly and wasn't responding to my answers to its questions. I finally had to leave messages. Finally, a young lady calls me back and I'm thinking great it's ready and my wife can pick it up since she was on her way home from work. Well, the young lady says to me I need prior authorization, so I yell back at her that CVS said they have it. She says they don't, and I yell back that your text messages and the calls said you do. She says sir, if you're going to yell at me I'm going to hang up on you. I told her I don't care if you hang up on me. She then says I will check to see and then preceded to try and tell me how to behave, I told her twice I'll hold on while you check. Maybe 5-10 minutes later a man gets on the phone and says the same thing about needing prior authorization, so I start yelling at him and he hangs up on me. Instead of him trying to hear me out, even though I'm yelling, he was dismissive and arrogantly hung up on me. It's customer service and you're going to get yelled at occasionally, that's par for the job ask me how I know. The proper way to handle that is to hear the customer out, allow them to vent and say sit/ma'am I apologize for the inconvenience, let me see what can do to resolve the issue. No reasonable person will be upset about that response. Elvit, who is the Pharmacist/Doctor was completely out of line, arrogant and disrespectful, that's not how you handle a situation like that. He didn't know why I was upset, because he never bothered to find out, he simply hung up, unacceptable and as a disabled USAF Veteran that served my country honorably, it triggered my PTSD, so I'm here to let him know he can't treat me that way. If he's done that with me I'm certain, I'm not the only one, so I hope this is shared so others can express their experiences. I will NEVER use CVS again, Walgreens just down the street from them, since my business clearly isn't important to them! 7/21/2025 - My surgeon sends prescriptions to be ready for pickup by 7/24. 7/24/2025 I have back surgery. After my surgery, contacted cvs. Was told that the medication was not yet ready and will be ready for pickup shortly. Called 3 hours later, now being told that there is a "workers compensation communication error". No worries I will pay out of pocket is what I told them. I was then told that they will get it ready for pickup up today. Called 2 hours later, one hour before closing. The ahole who answeres says - "It's not ready, you will get a message when it's ready." I asked him if it will be ready today - his response "yes, we will send a message" then he immediately hangs up the phone as I ask him what time do they close. 7pm rolls around, pharmacy is now closed. I had to go a full 24hrs with no medication after undergoing back surgery on my spine. THEY HAD 3 FULL DAYS TO PREPARE MY PERSCRIPTIONS. Not only this, but everytime i made a call to this pharmacy, i had to deal with someone with a NASTY attitude. The girl at the pharmacy counter was giving everyone the dirtiest looks. When I made my way up to her she was cold, expressionless and rude. She wouldn't even talk - just a whisper mumble. I didn't catch her name but she had a dermal piercing between her collar bones. Why let her work here? Do better cvs! Unfortunately I suffered a allergic reaction and sought this CVS pharmacy for medication. The shelves were bare and little assistance could be had From the Pharmacist (Elvis) or staff. The staff was busy discussing driving lessons and how to get the best insurance deals while I waited for help with no one ahead of me. Finally, it was my turn and Elvis seemed greatly inconvenienced to provide assistance. I even asked if someone else could help and he hurried raced to the shelves and told me to pick one all of them work. No, I was not looking for medical guidance but wondering do you have the specific med behind the counter. I switched to this pharmacy from Walgreens because I had so many bad experiences at Walgreens that I just couldn't go anymore. The difference is night and day. The wait times are shorter and they have more staff working to keep things moving. At Walgreens, they literally lost prescriptions I've dropped off, the lines were always ridiculous and the weight times were terrible. I wished I would have switched a lot sooner. read more

I regularly go to this CVS because it's so close to my gym so it's convenient. The customer service here is okay. I've only been asked if I needed any help maybe twice out if the total times I walked in here. Its organized in the store, the only time I have trouble finding anything is when I got to the feminine product section. The brands seem to be scattered. Like I'll see tampons from their cotton brand at the bottom and that same brand's pads at the top. That's weird to me but ok. There's usually only one cashier when I go in here so the line can move slow. Other than that it always seems to be in stock with the supplies I need so I'm not complaining too much ‍ read more

This CVS has most certainly decreased greatly in the customer service arena. They never have uour medications ready for the promised time. They are ALWAYS short staffed and can never answer your questions. They are so very disorganized. I will begin using Giant again to fill my prescriptions. It doesn't make sense that my prescriptions were sent electronically at 4:30pm and when I arrive at 7:30pm they are not ready. I didn't hsve my prescriptions in hand until 8:15pm. I love this CVS Pharmacy the Staff members are very nice. Both Pharmacists are very nice and knowledgeable too. I been coming her about 3 years now since the Safeway on Bryans road closed. They get your meds ready quickly. They always ask you do you have any question about your medicine. Which I think is a nice touch. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this pharmacy. I had nothing but great experience when coming to this pharmacy. I will continue to get my medication fill here. Regularly get an opiate script sent there, as it is nearest to my house. Pharmacist states he never received it, even when I just saw my Dr. send it over. Next, they give you the runaround, as they pretend to search their computer system, only to again state they never received it. People that need these meds get treated as though they are the criminals. CVS's lack of customer service, and information to the patients is appalling. If you don't have it, or have run out of your designated amount, just say so, stop treating people like idiots. Now I have to shop my script around like an addict, doctor shopping. My scripts have been signed by authorized medical personnel, and it should not be on myself to scour the streets to find a reputable pharmacy, that doesn't play games with their customers. read more

I have been coming to this pharmacy for years now, even before the new one was built, and never had issues with them until now. I dropped off my child's prescription and told them I would be back later to get it, because they were extremely busy and I needed to get the little ones home for dinner. I came back and was told it was not processed and since they were short staffed and backed up, could I come back and she would put it in to expedite it, knowing they close at 10 p.m. So I waited an entire day and came back this evening to discover, wait for it.....that it still had not been processed. I waited an hour in the store for it to be filled. They weren't rude or anything, but I will try my chances with Walgreen's or Rite Aid from now on. I was not a happy camper at all. read more

I submitted a bunch of refill requests for my mother in law for medicines that are literally keeping her alive. It turns out they had all expired, but I was never contacted about their status because we had switched from La Plata to Waldorf! Now we are out of these medications on a weekend and no chance of getting them refilled this weekend! 1/3/2018: Nothing has improved with this place. There is no counseling with new medications unless you go inside, and I discovered that one of my medications had the wrong doctor listed next to it, someone who does not deal with those medications! This location is horrible. I never receive a call on the status of any prescriptions called in by my physician. Further any time you call your on hold for 30 minutes and they lied about reaching out to my insurance company about a prescription coverage. The staff seems more interested in chatting with each other than helping the client. I will be switching to another pharmacy. read more

As the others have said with reviews, this is a very disorganized pharmacy. My prescriptions are rarely ready when promised and the wait times are outrageous. Someone on their staff put my meds on auto-refill. I get a million calls to pick up meds that I don't need or may not be ready for. I explain this to the staff and have responded to say meds are not needed but the calls keep coming. In an effort to stop wasting my time when picking up, I signed up for text service to let me know when prescription is filled. A service I want, but does not work. It is a crap shoot if I get a message. There is always a staff shortage. Their bright light is Ms. Angie, a pharmacy tech, but she can't be there all the time. I switched from Walgreen's for inefficient service but this CVS makes them look like a concierge service. In the process of switching. I refuse to continue to waste time with them. I normally go to Walgreens and from this point on I will continue. I ended up coming to this CVS because it was more convenient this particular day. Items were in disarray and there was even a shortage of Nyquil, which I thought was odd. One person was at the register and two other employees were having a personal conversation while customers were waiting. I was in line much longer than I should have been and was irritated that the other two employees never even looked up to help customers. Obviously there is a poor management situation there. The last time they forgot to add water to my toddler's antibiotic and made me come back. Their drive thru isn't open half the time and the staff is rude. It is so ghetto and dirty. I visited this CVS for a prescription for the first time on yesterday New Years Eve. Upon entering the store, the vibes were very negative and then when I went to the Pharmacy they were worst. All the employees appeared to be too busy to even take a moment to speak or talk to you and then on top of that I waited over 1 hour for my prescription. My insurance card was never scanned and it was so much confusion going on I almost left to go to another CVS. I never plan to visit this CVS again. I would rather continue to go to the CVS on St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf where they are more courteous, friendly and prompt and don't forget much more professional. Hello everyone, I used to work in this pharmacy and luckily I found a job in the law field. Before you write a spoiled complaint, understand that this store is and will always be understaffed. Everyone in the area ONLY fills here. 750+ prescriptions are filled daily by a single person who also has to step to drop-off or drive-through which never stops, and is also the same person answering phone calls. Prescriptions are filled in the order they are received, so I am sorry that your prescription is not ready when you left the doctor 3 hours ago but there are prescriptions from 7 hours ago way ahead of yours. To maintain a pharmacy you need: 1 tech at drive through, 1-2 at pickup, 1 at drop off, 1 doing maintenance, 1 making calls, and then 1-2 filling prescriptions. When you went im sure there were 2-3 people there. My old pharmacist would come in at 2 in the morning to try and help fill all your prescriptions (which we are not paid for) but people will never be satisfied. Its not your fault, but the people that work in pharmacies have one of the highest workloads from being intentionally understaffed to save payroll money by corporate. So do not take it out on the people that go beyond what you see to make you happy making minimum wage. This is not a McDonalds, there are a dozen steps and regulations to fill even a box of eye drops, it takes time. but if you would rather them fill your prescriptions in 10 seconds let your pharmacist know they can bypass all the safety measures and steps meant to protect you because you dont mind overdosing if you can make it home a little earlier today :) read more
