I have frequented the CVS on South Plaza Road for years for my prescription's. I have gone to other pharmacies over the years but this one is my top choice. Customer service is always good to me. I've had issues getting things approved with my insurance but this CVS makes everything painless and takes care of all pre authorizations needed. I've been using CVS for years and I genuinely love how convenient their app makes everything! My dentist called in a prescription, and as always, the CVS app notified me right when it was ready. I was able to pay for it right through the app -- super smooth and stress-free, especially when you're not feeling your best. The drive-thru line was a little long, which is understandable, but I do wish one lane could be dedicated just for app pickups to make it even faster. That said, the young man working today was incredibly kind, friendly, and quick -- and he even gave my Boston Terrier, Lexi, a little treat, which totally made our day! Cvs is a place I try use occasionally and always regret my decision. CVS stands for convenience-value-and service is I recall. I find none of these words describe actual experiences in the store. tried to fill a pet prescription here and was told after answering multiple questions (answers were all on a paper in front of technician) they did not take good rx for pet prescriptions. I have used good rx at other pharmacies before so why? They claimed because of a missing mpi number ( a number which identifies the Dr writing the order). The website for good rx clearly states the drs dea number is a replacement. Cvs instead offered to use another unknown program. Cash price was over $120 when good rx was $12 for the same item!? I declined and will go to target instead. I know cvs is generally understaffed but lack of service and high prices make for a bad combination. I went home and find on the +cvs website+ a tool for cash pricing! Why couldn't the two employees who "helped" me state this simple fact and use their own tool? The predominant issue with this store is understaffing. The pharmacists are skilled, caring and professional. The pharmacy techs are as nice as they can possibly be, given their horrendous working environment. This store recently had a mass exit of employees. All for the same reason. Dismal working conditions. It's corporate greed at its worst. I'm sure CVS will use the old "bait and switch" on the next group of naive and optimistic employees they hire. I walked into the store last afternoon around 5p.m. to get my Rx's and there were 12 customers queued up ahead of me. Behind the counter I saw 1 Pharmacist and 2 Techs. Customers were being told they'd have to wait up to 2 hours before their Rx's would be filled and that no-one would be able to receive a vaccine. I was told the same last week when I came in for my SCHEDULED vaccine! "We don't have enough people working". Hopefully I won't get the flu and/or shingles while you are sorting out your staffing crisis. But what about the customers who were simply picking up their meds? How long did they wait? It's 8 a.m. the next day and I still haven't been texted from CVS that my Rx's are filled and ready to be picked up. Please don't recommend calling the pharmacy to check on my Rx's. I've been on hold for over 20 minutes in the past. Not interested in going down that worm hole again. I'm out of patience with CVS. Harris Teeter has been awesome the few times I've gotten Rx's from their pharmacy. Plus they have fuel points! Easy choice. Shame on CVS. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service! Obviously they were closed but I made it barely after 6 and asked if they were closed and if they could help me they said no. I walked away and out of sight and I could hear they making ver rude comments about me because I asked if they were closed "I really hate people like that" "No sh*t we're closed our gates are down* And then just kept making fun of me saying "are we closer, are we closed?" Pharmacy Service was rude and no compassion at all. My wife got off at work and went straight here to pick up my sons inhaler. She was standing in the line at 5:59pm and by the time she was at the counter was told that they close at 6:00pm. Ask the lady if she could just pick it up really quick and she was like "nope" So I told her to just shrug it off and don't need that energy. It was only going to take a couple minutes for the pick up. I know they close at 6pm but she was right there at the store. I know this because I was on a video call and we were looking at the time on our phone and I even glance on my Alexa screen equipment at home. the absolute worst pharmacy to call when you need something. i wasn't able to auto refill my prescription so i needed to speak to someone, i called first thing in the morning, early afternoon & around 4:30 & each time i called i was on hold for 20 minutes!! never spoke to anyone. I called the front of the store & asked if she could get me through to someone & her response was "i can transfer you but they're busy" & then she cut me off when i was trying to tell her i've called 3 different times of the day. If I could rate this pharmacy a zero I would. This pharmacy repeatedly screws up long term drug orders so that I go days between running out and getting refilled. The staff can't make up their mind as to whether I can call ahead to get the drug ordered to be ready for pickup in a few days or if I have to wait until I am out to get the order for refills started. They are snotty when trying to get answers from them if they don't put me on hold for 30 minutes...or more before they hang up on me anyway. There used to be really nice people in this pharmacy and I never had an issue. But in the last year or so they have gotten increasingly rude, snotty and anything but helpful. read more

Store manager's customer service is horrible. According to the CVS website, returns can be made without a store receipt for store credit. I can only assume that the young lady/man was indeed the store manager as she/he refused to give me a name other than "the store manager" which was suspect. If following CVS policies there should not be a problem with sharing a valid name. Nonetheless my return was refused without looking at the items stating that the CVS website policies were incorrect. I am disabled. Whenever I run an errand, I make sure I don't have to re-do it. I went to CVS Princess Anne to pick up a script for a family member. This particular script was to replace an older one that was in place for a year. That is something a pharmacy should do automatically. I had received this new script there before. At the register the pharmacist asked me " Is this to replace the ring? " I was ready for the question. I said "yes", then very emphatically " The patch is to replace the ring" and again very clearly "The patch is to replace the ring" . Well, what do you know I end up at home with the ring. The causes all kinds of problems. Per insurance the right script was discontinued and now we can't get it until the doctor calls back. This is the WEEKEND. And it's a hormonal type script. When I called the pharmacist back, she literally argued and argued that it was MY fault because I told her wrong. I kept saying "No" and kept repeating what happened. So now the problem is also that the pharmacist is lying and talking over top of me demanding that it's my fault. This was ridiculous. As soon as this is straightened out and I pick up the script, whenever that will be, I am taking the script to Rite-Aid on Princess Anne. They are the best. read more

This is not a review of the in-person interaction. I am unable to drive to the location due to a medical disability. This review reflects the experience of one totally reliant on online/phone interaction. The misfortune of having to locate my order placed with store 4935. My online order showed that it was scheduled to be delivered on 1/17/2020. Checking online after I didn't receive my medication, I found a USPS tracking number although my order was placed to be delivered by Shipt. The recording I heard while calling to check on my order stated that the order was ready for pick-up. After several calls and lengthy wait times, I was put through to the straw that broke this camel's back. The rep informed me that "we're in the middle of a pandemic." "We only have 2 people working here." The rep had the audacity to identify as a first responder right before hanging up on me. I am not a buffer between you and your corporate office. If you're understaffed, it's certainly not because of my being a "valued customer". If you are this angry about your present situation, call your corporate office, tell them off and hang up on them but NEVER hang up on me. I will do my research and find a pharmacy that values me as a customer. When I do, I'll let store 4935 know. read more

This is by far THE worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Things are not ready when promised. A lady with approx shoulder length brown hair is always nasty. I called to have a prescription refilled and waited over 40 min for the pharmacy to answer. I actually called from my husbands phone to call and talk to a manager as I waited for pharmacy to answer my phone. Low and behold when I spoke to him they answered right away. She was rude and acted as if I was bothering her. I had to remind her that we the customers are why you have a job. She said they were very busy, which I can understand. But to leave the phone to ring and ring because the store is busy is wrong. My med was promised an hr later but wasn't ready for 2 hrs What about us people that can't get in there? Not the place for a flu shot. Dropped in yesterday for one. It was 430 and they looked busy, so I told the young man who registered me that if it was better, I'd drop in today. Maybe there's some silly corporate rule about not turning people away. I was told to take a seat, someone would bring me my paperwork. When I started getting antsy, I decided to do an experiment. Set my timer. 35 minutes later - no paperwork, nothing, not a glance from the folks at the counter, we haven't forgotten you,, etc. So I walked out and won't be back. This is my regular pharmacy, but I think they're understaffed or overworked. How about posting best times to come in for a shot. There must be a solution. Will try the Salem location next. read more

Got an email saying they cancelled my order due to a system error and gave me a 60% off coupon to use towards a purchase--with a link for me to just reorder my prints. Using the 60% off coupon still makes my order total double what it was. CVS made the error, not me, but I'm the one who gets to be inconvenienced and charged more money? You can charge me for something and then just decide not to hold up your end of the bargain? Real nice. Why don't you train your employees well enough to not cause "system errors" or protect your customers when you are the reason an error occurs. This is the worst CVS there is. The pharmacist is rude. They delete emailed prescriptions constantly, then say the never received them. They ignore you when you come up to the counter. I have waited at least 5 minutes before they even acknowledge me. My doctor will email a prescription and I will go to pick it up and they will say come back in about two hours. read more
