I'm new to the area and was pleasantly surprised at the level of courtesy of both the clientele and the staff. I was looking for batteries and a pleasant young employee directed me to the right spot. I was in and out with relative ease, and they had every single item in stock that I was there for. I picked up tools, batteries, food and various other supplies, all at great low prices. I've been to many Walmart's in my lifetime, all up and down the east coast, and this particular location is head and shoulders above the rest. This Walmart easily earned 5 stars with me. Just my two cents. .

Let's start with the thing that customers want to see...cashiers in the checkout lanes. This Walmart had them! Remember when Walmarts everywhere would open up a new lane if there were more than 3 people in line. THIS Walmart STILL does that! And many of the morning employees, no matter what job they are assigned that morning, are cash register trained. So, if the lines start forming, even the managers and floor managers jump in and take a register! These folks are a well oiled machine. Speaking of managers, the ones at this Walmart have excellent people skills. It looks almost effortless, how they get quick, agreeable from their employees. I never heard a harsh word or demeaning criticism. And I never saw a manager stand still, much less sit down or just disappear. Let's talk about the associates at this store. They were smiling 99.9% of the time. Genuinely. And there was no drama among them. They really did like working with each other. This is so rare. Their main focus is the customer, so each associate is trained well to just flow where the need is most. It's a piece of cake to use the self-checkout at this Walmart. If you can't get it, there's an associate right there to help, often even before you ask. The produce section is laid out well, attractive and inviting. From my vantage point, the shelves stay well-stocked. Their pharmacy is run by courteous, efficient and knowledgeable pharmacists and pharmacy workers. The wait time appears to be minimal most times of the day. That's handy when prescriptions are need as quick as possible. Located on one end of the city, this Walmart is situated to cater to senior citizens, families with young children and local college students. It's a great atmosphere at this Walmart and one that would make anyone's trip to the grocery more pleasant than just another errand.

After explaining, customer service transferred me back to pharmacy. The pharmacist answered & I had to give him product details that employee from original call was supposed to be checking on. He then reported that product wasn't available. He didn't mention if it was stocked at all or to order online. I thanked him for checking & ended call. Later on same day, as I was shopping this location, I went by pharmacy to check for myself and found the EXACT product I had inquired about earlier! Brought the box to pharmacy window to comment on this issue & employee was quite rude. No apology, only saying 'we'll know about this product for next time!' Since I needed the product immediately, I had to purchase it for almost twice as much at another national brand pharmacy! It appears that my product inquiry was either too difficult to handle or too much of a bother!

When it was being built I thought, why build a gas station across from a gas station? Tucked in what appears to the naked eye as a simple gas station/convenience store is Donuts & Deli. It's no secret I'm from California as I reminiscence often of cool balmy beach weather as I swelter in the humid heat of Southern Louisiana. Louisianians love their snowballs, but we Californians LOVE us some donuts. We have as many donut joints as you have snowball stands, maybe even more. After hearing about this place ( from darling Alexis), I was eager to get my hands on some donuts. They serve a selection of classic donuts, glazed, chocolate, Bavarian cream, jelly filled and sprinkles. But then.......a wide grin as big a the Cheshire Cat creeped across my face as I eye spied a cinnamon roll as big as my head. The little Alice in Wonderland within me jumped for joy as I drooled over the various donut holes and miniature apple fritters, perfect for any mad hatter tea party. We order the giant cinnamon roll, chocolate covered donuts and jelly filled holes, all delicious! I thought I'd try their original potato, filled with the yumminess of bacon bits, cheese, butter, sour cream and green onions for a whopping $3.29 ....their menu includes sandwiches, burgers and smoked meat lunch plates....it's was obvious that some knew about this place as a dozen or so worker guys were chowing down at tables located inside..... And I was assured that the sign is coming soon....... What I discovered, even though my name isn't Alice nor did I follow a white rabbit down a hole....is that I won't have to travel far to grab delicious donuts or a bite for lunch.......Donuts & Deli gets the California stamp of approval, I'm a fan!
