There seems to be a shortage of workers in general if you need help with anything. They have a few self checkout machines which is nice. Store can get a little messy and chaotic at times but if you're not looking to buy a lot of stuff, it's fine to get by. read more

It's chaos at this location, especially at night. There are boxes for stocking merch on shelves in the randomest of places and tight aisles that make no sense. And it's unclear who's a manager, cashier, or any employee at all, particularly since customers are basically forced to use self-checkout. Another visit during afternoon hours went much more smoothly, I have to say though. And, regardless, each time I've gone in, I've pestered someone enough to get what I needed. Was in Sunnyside visiting a friend and stopped by the local CVS to pick up a few useful items before heading back home . not bad overall as place is organized and well stocked with plenty items on sale with large stickers on shelves giving the customers the scoop . Didn't spend to much time but took advantage of the cereals on sale and 24 pack of water for 3.49. CVS has gotten better with the prices as it was taking heat for the last few years for doing otherwise. I spent about 40 bucks and saved about 17 dollars which ain't that bad when u use your CVS card and use all the discounts and perks on your card as the more you buy the more perks are added to your card . For the most part, I don't usually agree with bad ratings, but I have to say this is my least favorite CVS in NYC. It's always very busy so that definitely contributes to the hectic environment. This location is open 24 hours but the pharmacy is not. There is always a long line for the pharmacy so just be aware when picking up your prescription. I haven't figured out what the best time of day is yet to avoid the line. I tried ordering a photo printout here once and it was supposed to be 1 hour but I waited until the next morning and still hadn't gotten the order is ready notice. When I went inside they were extremely backed up and not very friendly about it so I don't recommend this location for photos. The self checkout is my preferred method for shopping. Also I definitely recommend becoming a CVS extracare member as they're always giving out great coupons so this is one perk I regularly take advantage of. read more

The magic upgrade of a decade ago has faded so hard that this CVS is now in the pits like many of the other stores. The good news is that it's still 24 hours and close to the subway. The bad news is that things have gotten considerably worse during the pandemic, mainly because of the urgent need for basic supplies and sanitizer. However, that's not the problem since the circumstances have been crazy since 2020 came around. I have issues with: * the lack of quality service. I'm not just talking good customer service, I'm just referring to actual store employees. They did away with a whole crew of folks years ago and now have prioritized self-check-out machines. The latter isn't bad per se, I'm all for efficiency. But much of the time, there is at least one or two machines not working and folks are still backed up line-wise. * their Incredibly slow pharmacy. During peak times you have folks standing around random aisles just waiting to be serviced. There are two seats for folks waiting, but those are usually occupied. I would recommend trying around 10AM or 3PM in an effort to avoid the peeps. Doesn't always work though. * the lack of inventory. Where they once were constantly restocking shelves with shelves, I find that I'm never finding the things I'm looking for. A manager mentioned that things don't come as quickly anymore, but I see the trucks lining up week and out. I suppose demand is really just that high. Also is it me but are employees not as masked up as they should be? Maybe it's not a priority during off hours, but I think they should be on properly (not the nose tuck even) anytime there are customers in the store. Seeing as they're not wiping down the self-checkout machines as often, makes me less interested in coming here. read more

I come here at least twice a week to do shopping. I dont know if he was manager or whoever it was let me give you an advice if you dont like the job than leave dont give an attitude to customers! The paying booth whenever I go 3 of them are not working so sometime it's a long wait which gives a frustration to others. Only one person at the register struggling with one customer. I been here couple times and the other times I been there I was treated respectfully and nice but past weeks It became disrespectful with the customer service. This place always out of stock! So it's really hard to come here and leave with what you wanted to get. The shampoo and conditioner I have noticed one thing. They sell it $5 more expensive here. 2 weeks ago I stopped by target to do appliance shopping. I only use nexus shampoo conditioner and nexus products. Here I saw the price as $21.99 for conditioner. At target the nexxus shampoo and conditioner was $14.99. Must compare with other places before buying. Sometimes one of the each aisle are messy, and half of the products are not there. This CVS pharmacy has consistently been the worst I have ever experienced. Lines for perscriptions can be up to a half hour long. My perscription is a controlled substance and has a 3-day flex period for pick-up. Regardless of the day I get it refilled they treat me like I'm a drug addict and do everything in their power to not get me the thing I need to function. They are consistently out of my medication or refuse to give it to me. Do not use this pharmacy. Everyone I have talked to while waiting in line say the same thing and either dont have many other options or are looking for alternatives. I have recently signed up for a delivery service called Capsule and they are amazing. If your insursnce cocers them sign up asap. This place sucks and most he stuff are rude or generally unconcerned about your needs. I will never go to a cvs pharmacy again, and I'll be recommending that my friends and family do not as well. read more

One star is really too many stars. This place used to be better, in fairness I need to point it out. But the store has gone way down hill. It is dirty and usually a mess, with crates in the aisles and badly merchandised shelfs. The price signs on the edges of the shelves are frequently not acurately synched with the items behind them. The shelves are frequently bare, and it is common that they do not have the basic pharmecy items that one has come to the store for. But all of this is relatively minor in comparison to the incredible rudeness and hostility that many of the employees put forth. OMG! Some people don't know how to operate self-checkout service machine? Don't tell me that there's not one attendant there because I come here all the time and there's always someone working to assist customers who don't know how to use a self-checkout service machine. There's a person checking service too. The staffers are helpful, ask them. The pharmacy in the back is also doing a good job. When it comes to the products they carry, now that sometimes can be a problem because a lot of stuff I see at other CVS cannot be found here. Maybe they need to stock up more. It is open 24 hours, has a pharmacy, photo lab (3 Kodak self-serve printing stations), perishable and non-perishable food aisles, an Extra Care Coupon Center machine to scan your rewards card for printable coupons, and 4 self check-out stations. You can run in and out with zero fuss! There is generally only 1 real cashier on duty at any point in time, so if you need human interaction, try going later at night when the store is quite empty. For all you holiday hoarders out there, this location offers deep discounts (up to 75% off) on related items (i.e. Easter candy, Halloween costumes/candy, Christmas decorations...etc.) immediately following the actual holiday. I have always found the employees to be extremely helpful, even during peak hours. They also have a 30-day refund policy on unopened, damaged, or defective nonprescription items with accompanying receipt. I really like the fact that this CVS is open 24 hours in case I realize I am out of shampoo, q-tips, or O-T-C medicine late a night. Score a point for availability! Deduct points for the following: 1) Today I went to purchase some in-soles for a pair of shoes that have lost all cushion and support. The rack said $8.95, the register said $16.99. When I asked what the deal was, the employee said, "it was probably put on the wrong rack" as though it was my fault for not verifying if the fine print on the rack matched the product packaging. It's probably just me, but I really HATE when stores can't display things correctly and then surprise you at the register with a higher price. Granted, sometimes customers mix things up, but in this case it was the store (verified when I went back to check the price on the rack). I wanted to leave out of principle, but I had lots of walking to do today so I kinda needed the support. 2) There were probably 50 gallons of milk sitting in crates on the floor waiting to be put in the fridge. The jugs looked dry and I thought that was peculiar with how humid it has been lately. To satisfy my curiosity, I touched one and it was about room temperature. I was told after waiting for 30 minutes in line that they would call me yesterday morning so that I can come and pick up my prescription (never did). Tried calling three times yesterday to confirm, waited 20 minutes before giving up each time. Called again today and was on hold for over an hour before someone picked up and AUTOMATICALLY HUNG UP ON ME. I was transferred from another pharmacy to this one, and I would bet that this pharmacy never even bothered to get my information from the other pharmacy bc of how INCOMPETENT it is, but I don't know since they won't pick up the phone unless it's to hang up on you. This place is absolute garbage, use any other pharmacy that will actually pick up. Two and a half stars is way too generous, should be negative one billion. read more

I would highly advise not shopping here. I came in there shopping for things I actually need and for Halloween decor and was followed around the entire store as a black woman by my former manager. Yeah, former manager I was followed around and when I confronted him he denied that he was not watching me. Please be careful, I literally quit because I felt discriminated, I was spoken to behind my back, and messed with my schedule. They just can't keep up, and they're putting people's health at risk by delaying refills (sometimes for up to 6 days!!!!!). They never pick up the phone. They don't honor appointments made online (such a waste of time). The employees behind the counter are obviously overworked: cranky, grumpy and sometimes right out nasty. March 2nd 2021, 2:15pm An employee was kindly helping me in the photo area when all of a sudden her manager, Rock, came busting into the register area and ripped my photo out of her hands. "Go watch the registers! I'll deal with this.". Rock proceeded to put my photo down and completely ignore me for a different customer and would periodically eye ball and point at who he wanted the employee to watch in the register area like a mad man. 15 minutes later when he was done aggressively telling this Spanish woman over and over again that he can't help her, he ignored me again and went to talk to some delivery people while there was a line. The MVP employee who is obviously was scared and fearful of Rock and his intimidation tactics as a manager, came and helped me once again and apologized on his behalf. In most situations, its the manager apologizing for the employees behavior. Not the other way around. Rock shouldn't work in customer service and they should give this other employee his position. read more

Zero stars. Every single employee here (that works during weekdays/daytime) needs to be fired, and these jobs needs to be given to people who actually have human decency. If you notice there is never anyone working the front desk or photo area. They will literally have someone standing there for assistance and ignore them until someone else is willing to help them, which is no one. I have not ONCE spoken to an employee here that is willing to assist prior to you waiting your entire life at the front. Then if u ask twice they will point to air and tell you to ask them. Horrible service by pharmacy. Had surgery on a Friday. Called on Sunday to have emergency pain meds prescriptions sent over to be filled after calling to confirm the meds were available at 9:30am. Was told they were. Upon arrival my designee was told the prescription was not authorized due to the doctor not being authorized. Had the matter resolved by 11:30am. Went back to pharmacy to be told that we would now have to wait another 1.5-2 hours. All the while this is an emergency medication for a post op patient. Will never use this pharmacy ever again!!!! read more

This place is just locally centralized that is why they are always so busy. Its near the subway station and sometimes easier to just pick some basic things up if you don't care about price without going all over the neighborhood. What I find really annoying is that they don't really have cashiers. They have one person over looking the self check out line which can be really long and you have to check yourself out. If you don't want to you can tell the one person manning the self check out to do it for you and pack it for you. That one person manning the self checkout really work hard. If there is a person who is just standing behind the cash register they point you to the self check out. They have a real racket going on and they are making money by really not having a full staff. read more

Pharmacy service has really gone downhill. Lived in the area for two years and the past few months have been a nightmare getting prescriptions. They must be under new management. They rarely answer the phone (if ever), prescriptions are never ready and several times they've claimed they "just got them and are processing" when the day before they said they were filling them. With so much going on right now, all we need is a little decency. Please don't keep medicine hostage and then proceed to not pick up the phone for more than 45 minutes. This was a waste of time and we are going to have to call again tomorrow until we can get our medicine released. Also don't pick up the phone after 45 minutes and hang immediately hang up. We were NOT automatically disconnected, yes, we can tell the difference. I understand that this may be very difficult times, but just so others who read this know, we have transferred our other prescription to another pharmacy that answers our phone call and resolves our issue after just 1 call. As soon as we get this last prescription for my child released, we will no longer be using this location. Furthermore even though the store and pharmacy are not associated with one another, this is a poor reflection on the store as well & we have no plans to ever shop at the store again either. As you might be able to see, I don't write many long or mean reviews, but this is not the first incident with this pharmacy and my family have reached a limit where we refuse to be frustrated by this one more second. There's been too many games played by this pharmacy recently and enough is enough. It seems like every prescription for the last month or so has consistently come up with a problem. For a simple order to be filled for a couple vials of medication, it became a big issue of the staff. To begin with, the dosage was significantly lower then what was sent by the doctor. The next issue came through their refusal to give the exact number of bottles needed. The pharmacist were rude and caught a quick attitude after being questioned on the issue. Instead, they gave the run around and snickered it off like a joke. What kind of a medical business is allowed to run like this? God forbid this medication was life or death, they had absolutely no concern whatsoever. Check out another pharmacy in the area.
