So it's not a bad CVs - location is in the middle of a hill off a busy street, and you can get in and out at a light on a side road. Not completely ideal, but okay. It's a tall building, which prompts my constant question - what are they keeping up there? Vitamins? Christmas? Secret controlling the world documents? The height is just to compliment the architect's love of unnecessary clocktowers? Truly, I will never know. The inside is bright and clean. It's well stocked in everything you may expect from CVS, including bottle recycling and a foot assessment station for Dr. Scholl's. Frustratingly at night, they seem to understaff to provide no option BUT the self checkout. There is no discount for being your own cashier, and they don't accept cash. When I applied enough coupons to bring my drink down to $.09, I actually had to charge that! I'd rather deal with a human myself. read more

Let me just start by saying this CVS in Southbury has incredibly competent, knowledgeable and the kindest staff. I stopped using Walgreens in Southbury because they messed up my meds, always, and it would take me hours to get them to fix it, in person or on the phone. I have to have a good pharmacy to count on because I need meds that can make me go through withdrawals and seizures if not taken. Walgreens could care less if you died at their counter, they would probably just step over you! CVS is the only place to go, trust me, dealing with Walgreens gave me panic attacks! read more

I have been a CVS customer for many years, at multiple locations. This is the first one that has ever been an issue. For the last 4-5 years (I moved one town over 7 years ago), the pharmacy has gone downhill with no improvement. In fact, it's getting worse. The staff, except for a few, usually has a bad attitude...and they really dislike being questioned. In my case, I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for almost 19 years. I know my prescriptions: which ones need prior authorizations, which ones I pay for out-of-pocket, and which ones can only be filled 30 days at a time. I am always prepared. It's not my first rodeo. When a prescription isn't filled correctly, I have kindly informed the pharmacy that there has been a mistake, and the answer is always some lame excuse or a snotty, "Take it up with your insurance! Don't give me an attitude!" I always contact the insurance company and they have needed to call the pharmacy and straighten it out every time. The staff is condescending, abusive, and loves to gaslight you. It's unnecessary and ridiculous. I have called the CVS corporate phone number multiple times to give feedback on this store, and it's unfortunate that I've had to do so. Improvements need to be made, and soon! read more

My Rx is a day late in being filled. It is an extremely important medication & I cannot miss taking it. After all the annoying voice prompts, instead of getting to actually speak to a pharmacist, I had to leave a voicemail & hope I'll get a timely callback. Was called back in an hour & was told the truck was being unloaded & the woman with whom I spoke wasn't able to tell me if my Rx had come in & that I should call later in the day. Called at 5:00 & somehow managed to get a human by continually pressing "0". The young man with whom I spoke was rude, unapologetic about the situation, & hung up on me. This CVS has declined...fast. With recent negative posts about this CVS I wanted to come and give a positive review. I had to stop in tonight. Line had about 8 people. It's rush hour so to be expected. I have found this staff to be lovely and accommodating. Honestly, I think they are so used to locals being awful to them and probably showing their exhaustion. CVS across America are understaffed. Not just Southbury. Everyone is so used to "instant" that they don't understand waiting and patience. One of the Lab technicians mentioned they all try their best with what corporate has handed them yet earlier today an older gentleman called them a derogatory name. Offer some grace to this staff. Awful! I dont want to minimize the importance of a break or break for lunch to anyone, but shutting down the entire pharmacy and inconveniencing customers who are trying to pick up a prescription is just poor service and shows just how important the employee is over the customer. Here is an idea...how about taking lunch in shifts so you dont shut the entire pharmacy down? Every other business along Main Street in Southbury seems to have that figured out. Clearly this location is undersized as I am often told that my prescription just filled by my doctor will be filled in four days. Four days? Worse is getting the daily or sometimes twice per day text or phone call telling you to pick up your prescription...I am trying but you are closed for lunch! Came for a minute clinic appointment. My appointment was great. Then the pharmacy was a long wait to be told they don't have the medication. I could go to Walgreens and they will send my order there. Picked up a prescription and the pharmacy didn't have it; even though it was transferred and confirmed from my other cvs. The lead pharmacist checked and said there were two persciptions in my name. I noticed my first name was a different variation, but the girl checking me out joked about so I thought it was a simple mistake, even after I gave my birth date and correct spelling. I paid $12 and left, but with someone else's medications! When I called back from my home, I was transferred to a women who asked me to bring it back immediately before they closed for lunch, and I said I was unable to. Then she asked me to bring back the wrong medication whenever I could. When I asked for delivery of my medication, there system was down and I was told to do it online. Luckily I was able to have a family member grab it for me. Just a major inconvenience and a horrible mistake on their part. read more

New doctor, new Rx. Took a week to get the Rx, charged full price. Asked about Medicare; told their system was 'down'. Left the Rx to be adjusted, got called to pickup, again full price. Called, spoke with a very nice, empathetic person, said she follow up. Got a message next day to pickup. Full price. The employee (although it was chaos and short staffed) got someone to work on it. 20 minutes later, had my Rx, zero cost. How many people right now can just drop $70 like that? My wife has been given medicine that she will be taking for the rest of her life, and the pharmacy has had her jumping through hoops for the past month for these meds. Caremark- and CVS are supposed to be together. But, they are on two totally different planets. We were told her meds were ready for pick up, and when we went to CVS they told us that they knew nothing about her order. Good thing we had an email to prove that we didn't make anything up. But, to CVS that still meant nothing. We still left with no meds. Everytime we got on the phone to confirm something with the pharmacy, more and more we felt as if we were an inconvenience to them. We went to finally pick up our meds on a Saturday evening, and they looked like we were doing something wrong for showing up, and while we were there the phone kept ringing while the workers ignored it. This place looks like it's being ran by a bunch of people who don't want to be at work. I would never ever recommend CVS to anyone. You are a number to them, and only a number. This is not the usual CVS location I was using before the pandemic hit. I would pop over here after I got out of the gym if there was something I needed or bestie needed me to pick up something. However, since I'm not back to work and haven't hit the gym since mid-March, I come here a bit more. The minute clinic there is very convenient. You can make an appointment on the app. They used to have a computer there to set up an appointment, too, but had to do away with it for the sake of not spreading the virus at this time. I went there last year before the flu season started and got my flu shot. This time I went for a necessary vaccine. Both times the nurse practitioner was very friendly and thorough. She explains what she is doing and why. I definitely recommend them. The store is very clean and usually stocked well. The cash register line moves pretty fast. The staff practices the mask wearing and proper social distancing, and the cashier is behind plexiglass. Despite the extra sanitary measures, the staff is still very welcoming and helpful. The parking is plentiful. Avoid the drive through if you can. That line has been long since March. read more

Just your average CVS, which happens to be in a convenient place if I happen to need something quickly. The staff seems to be as enthusiastic about being there as I am. It's hard to find someone to answer questions or help you locate something, which is pretty much the standard at every CVS. If there were better alternatives, I'd probably go there, but since all the chain pharmacies are pretty much the same, I guess this is as good a place as any. read more

Prices are high and product selection is a best average perhaps liens more towards poor. Rewards programs and discounts are cumbersome and awkward. Pharmacy wait is generally long and parking is difficult. Most people I know uses pharmacy only because it is the preferred pharmacy for the insurance plan they have. Otherwise they would use wall greens or independent pharmacy just across the street. read more

I'm not a CVS fan as a whole, but The Nurse Practitioner at the minute clinic was great! She was amazing with my kids. We went for a last minute physical for school. Although they took insurance for the flu shots we had to pay out of pocket ($89) for their physicals and to have the paper work filled out. I was surprised at how thorough she was. My kids actually enjoyed getting their physical. She made it fun for them. Till we find a good pediatrician in the area we will continue to go here. read more

MINUTE CLINIC ONLY. I am a pretty gnarly infection in my eye (minds out of gutter). I have been going to a fantastic new boot camp class and the sweat and my hands near my face did not mix. BOOM. INFECTION. So I have a schedule to keep. I need to run to this minute clinic on the way home from work so that I can go to the hospital to see my dad. So I think...MINUTE clinic....get it??? get it?? MINUTE.... no... no no no After waiting for about 15 minutes for these two female patrons to stare at the sign in computer blankly and yell at each other (it took me 2 seconds to sign in) I took a seat..... My eye was swollen shut...I was in pain..... The wait list said Nurse (at lunch)... Patron 1 Patron 2 (me) I waited....45 minutes later. The PA comes out looks at me...i smile...i sign... I say. They were first. She cuts me off... Yeah, what's wrong with you? (huh?) I remove my glasses. "My eye" she says......... Well....... you need to come back. I have these people in front of you and I need to take my lunch!!! (It was 4pm at this point...lunch?...I get people can get busy...but MUST people take lunch?) I stare at her blankly...a bit taken aback. Really? I say... and she says.." Well! these things happen!" and walks away and walks away!!! I am BLOWN away. I will NEVER go there again and waste my time with such behavior. I understand that people need a break....I understand that she was probably busy but you DO NOT do that. CVS said it never came in but all of a sudden it was ready at 9:30pm on a Friday night!! Minute Clinic Experience- my experience was fantastic. I work in Southbury and was feeling terrible. The urgent care in town had a 5 hour wait. Then I remembered the Minute Clinic. I checked in online and waited about 20 minutes. Saw Linda the LPN. She was awesome. Technically they are really urgent care but don't bill as such so instead of $75 I paid my regular copay if $25. Will definitely be back! As with all urgent cares, it's really not a minute wait but was way quicker than going to urgent care. Thanks for the quality treatment! read more

During a patients final hours critical medications were out of stock and the staff were unwilling to procure replacement until hospice nurses intervened. MINUTE CLINIC ONLY Guys, I had a terrible experience with the Minute Clinic last night August 30th, 2017. I got there early to "sign in" to the kiosk. Thank my lucky stars because that was a 20 minute procedure and I am very good with computers so first of all if you are at all thinking of using Minute Clinic, get there WAY EARLY. A few weeks ago they told my wife that since she did not sign in correctly she lost her place in line. If someone were on the kiosk when I got there I might have been subject to the same gloomy exile. I had gotten there at 5:00 pm for a 5:30 pm appointment. It wasn't until 6 that someone appeared from the other side of the two wooden doors and that was to do an eye exam. She did not acknowledge me as I scurried over to her to ask what was going on before she disappeared beyond the wooden door again (mind you I did not want to interrupt the kids eye exam). Luckily a second Doctor I presume, appeared from beyond the second door about 5 minutes later and I would not have this precious chance squandered so I approached. She told me that there were so many physicals they had to do this fateful day that they were way behind. Hmm at what point did they know this...I asked myself? They texted me four times after I made my appointment online to remind me of my appointment and of their stringent payment guidelines yet no text to tell me they were running behind. Long story short I found out nearly an HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES after my scheduled appointment that further delays were eminent because they wanted to squeeze a " screening reading" in, which in their words would "only take 5 minutes" as the patient and her father had just showed up with no appointment. Above that there was still another boy who needed a physical and was legitimately scheduled before me so expect at least another 45 MINUTE DELAY. As she read the bewildered look on my face she provided this insight with a smile, "Sir, I'll need at least 20-30 minutes alone to put your information into the computer and that wouldn't be fair to the other patients who were waiting"....remember twenty minutes at the kiosk, putting walk-ins in front of me, and I had already waited 75 minutes.... stop the madness! They felt that a wait of 2 plus hours is perfectly acceptable. I'm sorry, if I made my clients wait for 2 plus hours for a scheduled appointment, I would not be in business....get my point. Needless to say that after that comment I simply walked out.... Ironically, throughout this horrible experience, the Kiosk was saying that my wait was only 7 MINUTES! DON'T BOTHER! I would only do this if I were sure that I was the first appointment of the day and even then be CAUTIOUS. BTW I still feel sick today! All I needed were some antibiotics. read more

MINUTE CLINIC- The staff is always very friendly, however they are NEVER on time. I have visited this Minute Clinic location about 4 times, and almost always go right when they open in the morning. CVS opens at 8:00 am and Minute Clinic opens at 8:30 am. So you'd think the doctor arrives at 8:00 to set up, and takes the first patient at 8:30. No, not at all. On every single occasion the doctor has been "running late" and has showed up 10, 15, even 20 minutes late! read more

I think people only come on Yelp for places like this to complain, never to mention the good stuff. I always google this pharmacy to refill prescriptions, and I keep seeing the stars go down. I don't really write reviews, I just feel badly that they're rated so poorly. Just to provide a little balance, I've been coming here for years. Never had anything close to resembling a problem, everyone who works there has always been very friendly to me, apologizes if I had to wait in a line for more than 5 minutes (which is not even their fault), and any time I've used the minute clinic, I was seen promptly and got the exact outcome I sought-the diagnosis I expected and the prescription I needed (antibiotics). I'm sorry that others have had such bad experiences, but I never have. And no, I don't work for them, just don't like seeing consistently bad reviews when I know there are also lots of folks out there who go there and do just fine. read more
