Before I begin I would like to say that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences…read moreand my personal experiences alone, so without further explanation let's begin!. This review is just about checking on a particular item and not finding it at this particular location. Maybe they had it and I overlooked it or could've been out of stock. And I was pressed for time and didn't have an opportunity to ask a store clerk. I'll be back if I don't find what I'm looking for at other store locations!.

Friday afternoon I called to see if it was ready and was told by the tech that it would be ready in 15min. I decided to wait until Saturday. Called multiple times with no answer. Drove up to drive thru at 1:00pm and no one was there so I went inside. Was told they didn't have enough and my prescription wasn't filled. He contacted the High street location and informed them I was on my way at 1:16. I asked if they would be open and he stated I could get my medication if I got there before 1:30 because that's when they take their break. I got to High street Walgreens at 1:27 and saw the windows closed and the last tech leaving. If the hours are posted for the public at 1:30 why is it closed before? So I rushed following the advice of Toby from this Walgreens only to be made to wait anyway. Just awful. Why do they not let customers know if they cannot fill the prescription or when it is ready? They rarely answer the phone which I attempted calling back to back for hours. It's a goose chase. I already don't like taking medication but should not be sent on a scavenger hunt to get a common prescription filled.

Today we had the breakfast-eggs, bacon, potatoes and my toddler had the French toast! Delicious as always. They always have their specials posted and they always seem to have fresh cake slices available. I can't say enough how I love the kids/toy aisle! They have toys from when I was a kid, my toddler loves them all and we never leave without buying something! They also have new types of toys as well as puzzles and some large item educational toys. I was surprised to see they had the original pound puppies for sale today! Right now they have a lot of beautiful Christmas items for sale, we love looking at all of the festive stuff and of course we stopped to see the Christmas bouquets. I absolutely love the flower shop inside this pharmacy, you will not be disappointed with the fresh flower arrangements they have.

She decided to call me to say they didn't want my profile because of the medicines that I take. She thinks she is the DEA if you're getting pain medications there be aware that she is a person that thinks if you take pain medications you are a criminal. She tore my prescription up in front of me. No Pharmacist should be able to tell you or your Doctor what kind of Medicine a person should be taking. I take a lot of medicine due to having a lot of surgeries. I feel like if you don't want my profile for prescription the store doesn't need my business.

The location is pretty convienant being on a corner in Old Towne's High Street. The sign is kinda of small so you might have to take a double look and the name has also changed to Good Neighbor's. The inside has all your small items needs and theres also a tiny pharmacy in the back. They sell your typical snacks and candies found in other convience stores as well. I haven't used their pharmacy but I would if I was in the area because the people here definitely care about their customers. I came in here to fax some papers since our office fax was down and I needed these to be sent ASAP so I was refered here by the Portsmouth Library. The fax service is in the back and I was attended to quickly. The ladies there are super nice and caring. The people who were getting medicine seemed to get their prescriptions filled quickly. Overall, if I lived in the area this would make this my go to pharmacy because the people and service is great!

I can NOT be the only person who feels this way about these large conglomerate pharmacies who trick…read moreyou into thinking because a computerized VOICE takes your order, and affirms in advance that you have nothing to worry about, and your prescription WILL be filled. Yesterday I started to lose my temper, today I treated the pharmacist so badly, I'm embarrassed. But here's my point; I cannot think of one time that I've been able to walk into a Walgreens (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) AFTER being told via text message, my prescription is ready, and have everything simply go smoothly. There's always a problem, it's NEVER ready, and the price is constantly changing. I have to take a drug that's extremely dangerous. In fact, if this medication is abruptly taken away from me (after using it for over 27 years), I could die. So, I assume any and all pharmacists ALSO know this. Yesterday I went to pick it up, dreading every second I waited until I was to pick it up. At the counter of Walgreens on Fredrickson Blvd. Portsmouth, a pharmacist actually looked me in the eye, and said they were completely out of stock. Not only was this Walgreens, but all the Walgreens in a 50 mile radius was also completely out. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED. My next thought was; 'I need to get to an emergency room. OMG how could this be happening?' She goes on to tell me that I should start calling pharmacies OTHER than Walgreens because as far as she knows it won't be until mid OCTOBER, that they will have this drug back in stock. In a daze, I'm completely outraged that I HAVE to call around, that I need to hunt my prescription down, by calling random drugstores, I think to myself, Why didn't they tell me this when they first ran out? Why did they put me in this dangerous situation. And when I say dangerous, I'm not exaggerating. So I remembered how much I love to use Mom & Pop businesses in my community, I flipped open my local YellowPages and the very first druggist I saw, (Drug Center Pharmacy),was still open and they had my medication . Wow, so I didn't have to expose myself to COVID-19 last night in some random emergency room. I was so relieved. I knew they were closing, and I didn't want to hassle them with the "Drug exchange " part. So today I called Walgreens and after waiting on hold for over 13 minutes, I told the pharmacist I found a drugstore and they have my Rx. I began to give the man the phone number and all my information, when suddenly he interrupted me and asks "WHAT'S THE DATE OF BIRTH?" I tell him. That's followed by, "Okay, if you can have THEM give us a call..." I lost my mind!! "YOU WANT ME TO CALL THEM BACK AND HAVE THEM CALL YOU, give me a break." "I can't give you a break ma'am, it's Virginia State law, blah blah blah" Wow, I'm not even a human being to this man. And when I really realized that, I told him he just lost a customer. But something tells me, he really didn't care. And he probably gets that A LOT! EERRRRR! Makes me so angry And I'm easy going, it takes a lot to push my buttons. So if anyone is STILL reading this, and feels anxious about these places like I do, I have some good news. In Portsmouth (a stone's throw away from that Walgreens) exists the sweetest Mom & Pop's true Drug Store, called, 'DRUG CENTER PHARMACY'. I promise you, you will be treated like a person. No lines, and no waiting. Oh and they also DELIVER!! That's right. Free delivery. A beautiful girl name Ariana, helped me. She even listened while I spilled my anger over what had just happened. I'm never going back to Walgreens, CVS or RITE AID, again!
