The previous driver was a riot and I wouldn't be able to fill those shoes at all, for when I am at work I am more serious than I would be otherwise. For the first few months I would pull in earlier than the previous driver. He would leave The Bronx around 6am, I was already in Atlantic City by that time. I didn't know if he left tips, but I can't afford to tip everyday. Now I am a permanent fixture and get along with most of them. One guy drives a newer Chevy Malibu. Another drives an older Dodge Shadow. I recalled when I test drove a Plymouth Sundance Duster my sister was going to buy when they came out. And that had a V6. I complimented how good of shape it was in. I mentioned that I felt bad for not tipping. I asked how much they get in a day. $60 to $100 a day in tips! I was like, "Damn! I think I am working the wrong job va-tos!" As I was leaving, I said to him, "You are suppose to say, 'So keep your dollar ben-day-hoe!' " He laughed. They are a tight crew and most of them speak spanish. I filled up other places, but these guys are fast. Efficient. And regardless of the fact that I can't tip them, they serve me like as if I do! They have fresh coffee all the time, cappucinos, hot dogs, ice creams that aren't freezer burnt, and a wide assortment of everything you would need for a trip in your ride. They are always busy and are impressive to say the least. If ever in AC? As soon as you go through the Pleasantville Toll Plaza, it is the first station between the plaza and Atlantic City. I'm not sure what is going on these days but if an employee is constantly getting complaints. Businesses need to learn how to complete proper disciplinary action.
