Yes, they gave me someone's else's medicine, which thankfully I noticed when I was filling my pill box. When I returned to the store and showed them the (dangerous) problem, they took the bottle (of someone else's medicine) and told me my insurance wouldn't pay for a replacement because I had already picked it up! The pharmacist was like, "Yes, we called her name" when I asked if it was ready yet, which was strange as I absolutely didn't hear it. Strange they're not up to date on their technology, but alrighty. I also had to tap my card twice to pay. All in all, glad I stopped in as it saved me a trip at home but the vibe sure was something else.

This CVS is smaller than some others so it's not as well stocked with holiday items during the end of year holiday season, and have a small refrigerator and freezer section. With the lack of a grocery store in Old City, the smart thing to do would be to expand those sections. But I can usually find what I'm looking for here. And the pharmacy rarely has a wait. They recently added self checkout machines, so u can generally avoid that person holding up the line complaining about something or asking for a rain check on a coupon. This CVS has been a welcome addition to my Old City neighborhood since the day it opened.

He cheerfully fills my prescriptions and has given me manyhelpful pieces of information over the years concerning pharmacology and which prescription drugs I need. I…read morecould totally see something negative happening if you over-demanded or had complex shopping requests, but on the whole, I have found this CVS to be reliable, quick during most visits, and relatively orderly. One plus is that they are pretty well staffed here. I've been to other CVS locations in the city, where you hit the button to ask for someone to help you open the Tylenol cabinet, only to wait for an inordinate amount of time before you have to walk all the way back up to the front to get the person yourself. You're able to get the help you need in almost every part of the store here. Granted, you're dealing with Philly folks, so they're not going to give you the nicest smile or friendliest service. But they'll help you out with what you ask, and frankly, when I'm coming to CVS, I'm not looking for the red carpet anyways so that's more than enough for me. Only knocks are probably the fact that aisles are often getting clogged up due to constant restocking happening. Not their problem honestly, because they're serving pretty continuous traffic opening to closing because of UPenn and Drexel nearby, so the fact that they're on top of inventory in the aisles instead of letting shelves stay empty is a good sign to me. Pharmacy folks are also helpful in the Philly fashion. Don't think I've had much of a wait ever, except for right after work, as expected, but even then they recently installed these partially self-serve kiosks within the past year that have greatly sped up prescription pick ups here. On the whole, I think you shouldn't believe all the revenge reviews happening here. This place is more than sufficient and above average for CVS locations in the city.

The employees are nice & helpful. Nova Star is one of those increasingly rare places where it's always a person to person experience. It's a tiny store. But the owner has such good taste in products and somehow manages to stock the store with a wide variety of things that are high quality, unique, and cool. Skincare, bodycare, vitamins and supplements, teas, candles, soaps, everything. A lot of organic and artisanal products. A lot of smaller brands. A lot of imported things that you don't see every day. It's like a magic trick. They're also super nice as pharmacists. And just super great customer service all around. IMO, this is not one of the best pharmacies in Philadelphia, it's one of the best stores overall. Period. This is one of those almost flawless things. I have no notes. They could not be better.
