9/11/24, 9:30 a.m.: The parking lot was litter-strewn, as well as the first fifteen feet of the carpet entering the building ... There was also graffiti in the parking lot ... Not a good first impression. They didn't have their store brand 'alka-seltzer' I was looking for and their foot cream was way overpriced. A disappointing experience all the way around. Worst! I only go here since it's the closest. They (at most) have two people working the entire store. Lots of things locked up, so you're trying to flag down a swamped worker with a key to get what you need . Good luck finding them! One of the front doors has been broken for over 6 months and still not fixed. Rarely even have paper bags to put stuff in at self checkouts. Derrick and Erica, who work in the pharmacy, have been my Pandemic Superheroes! I don't even know what I'd do without their help and their kindness. They've repeatedly gone above and beyond for me! I couldn't figure out how to set up online prescription delivery, and they walked me though it. My pills got lost in the mail, and they sorted it. When I got anxious, they calmed me. When I felt overwhelmed, they SENT ME A LOVELY CARD, which I will cherish forever. Who does that? Who sends a neurotic customer a Hallmark card during a global pandemic?! I even wrote to corporate, and informed them of what amazing employees they have in Derrick and Erica, because they have been so wonderfully kind to me. They're working so hard, and it's all so stressful, but they still find the time to go above and beyond. That's so beautiful of them. I really hope that CVS appreciates them! read more

It wasn't great, and it wasn't awful. Nothing particularly interesting about this place. I stopped here quickly on a long drive. Workers were pleasant, the store was pretty well-kept (with the exception of a few misplaced items here and there... ex: a cereal box in the makeup isle) and I was able to use self-checkout easily. Man, do I hate that it announces the prices of each and every item so loudly tho. It's so embarrassing! Anyways, it's a nice place. I didn't hate it and I didn't love it. The lead pharmacist Tamer is wonderful and so helpful! He is always willing to help me find the best price using whatever discount cards I have. We appreciate that he takes the time to do this as does Derrick. However, there is one pharmacist who will not accept the discount card for certain medications which means I have to see the manager for those. For the most part the staff are pleasant and accommodating and a pleasure to do business with. I'll stay with CVS pharmacy as long as I can. read more

I like this CVS store, I *hate* this CVS pharmacy. The good thing about the store is they've got everything your typical drug store would have, but they have 4 self check-out stations. If you're anti-social like me (or just don't want to deal with incompetent cashiers), it's perfect. The pharmacy, on the other hand, is nothing short of a nightmare. It would be stupid for me to type out a lengthy description of the nonsense that happened yesterday when I went to get my most recent medication, but just know this...if you're going to have anything filled at this store, be prepared for: 1. Someone to tell you that they don't have your medicine(s) in stock. 2. Someone to get your name wrong (in my case, every single person got my name wrong, even after correcting it with no less than three people) 3. The folks behind the counter NOT communicating with each other. That's especially awesome because one person tell you your medication is ready and the other will say it isn't. 4. A. LONG. WAIT. This review is primarily for the photo department. The store itself, fine. Like just about any other CVS that I have been to. Staff is actually pretty helpful. Now I understand that one hour photo places are rare, you get what you expect, and there's no real cause to complain, but my negatives came back with significant streak marks across it, the prints on disc were extremely dusty. The exposures were actually pretty decent, they weren't printed so bad. But if you value your negatives then you shouldn't take them here. I personally didn't mind an incredible amount but I am sure a lot of people would think otherwise. The plus is that the turn around is very quick. read more

24 hour pharmacy!!!! When you google 24 hour pharmacy so many places pop up that aren't actually 24 hours but this one is and I couldn't be more grateful to the late night pharmacist on duty. He was quick, helpful, and caring when I was in desperate need of a last minute prescription. Even gave me some sample supplies to go with it. Amazing customer service! read more

This is my drugstore of choice because of three convenience factors: it is close, it is twenty-four hours and it has a drive thru. I enjoy their makeup selection and sales, which are quite often. They recently remodeled, added self checkout, and fancy health drinks and "fresh" salads and sandwiches that sort of scare me. You can now buy coconut water and Naked drinks here so that's pretty cool. One time I hid in the makeup aisle while three Fishtown teenagers fought in the hair products aisle. It was a little scary, but at least it entertained me while I waited for my prescription. read more

The store has good stuff, but the pharmacy is terrible! I gave my prescription and told them to give me brand name only. When I come to pick it up I have generic prescription. I tell them i only want brand so they slowly go to change. After 10minutes they tell me to wait but I come back next day to pick up. I pick up and it's not in a normal white paper bag. It's in a brown paper bag that you would use for lunch! I come home and notice one medication that I need to take for 3 month is already expiring these month! So I bought an expired drug. There no way I'm going there again, there rite aid across the street and there no way there worer than this crap! read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever, I am so sorry that I left Rite Aid. I have had nothing but problems and they are so ignorant about it that I dread going there for the one pharmacist is the most abrupt and rude man, he should at least be a little kind to the customers he's dealing with, I have been taking the same medication for over 15 years and they changed it to something else and it's not doing what my usual medication does, it's not the same..his response to me was " Well that's what your getting and nothing else" seriously I am definitely changing Pharmacies..I deserve to be treated like a person, he was hired to take care of the customers not treat them like that especially an older person like myself who left in tears..I love the girls at the front they are very caring and sweet..they take the time to make you smile and feel.special... read more

The store itself is fine but currently the pharmacy is terrible! No one ever picks up the phone! I stay on hold for 10 minutes before I hang up. The front store staff is no help either and there is no way to leave a message asking for someone to return your call. For older people who may have questions for the pharmacist about medications and can't easily get to the store to talk to the pharmacist in person, this is unacceptable. read more

I write this as I wait for my prescription. For some reason, doesn't matter if I refill my prescription online or over the phone, cvs pharmacy always loses my order. Of course then, I must wait 30 minutes for them to fill my prescription, forcing me to wander around cvs to kill time, and then I end up purchasing a random array of snacks I never intended on purchasing. i chose this cvs purely because they have a 24hr pharmacy which allows me to grab meds at any time of day or night but unfortunately after hours they deem it necessary to pull the gate down at the pharmacy counter and they leave it down while serving customers! not cool at all. even if they feel some need to have it down they can at least raise it enough to make eye contact with customers/patients who are clearly there to pick up meds. read more

I wish I could give zero stars! I have had issues with this pharmacy several times, and have given them chance after chance, but today was he last straw. The pharmacist gave me incorrect information, telling me I could not have my prescription filled today, despite my CVS app, another cvs and my doctor telling me today was the day I could fill it. When I tried to explain his, pharmacist cut me off and would not let me finish my sentence. I kept trying to speak, and she kept snapping at me. Whatever happened to customer service? Even more importantly, what happened to treating patients with respect?! Finally, this lady (and I use the term VERY loosely here) told me to stop trying to fill prescriptions too early and hung up on me. INCREDIBLY INNAPROPRIATE!!! I then transferred prescription back to the CVS at 3rd and Market. It's a 15 dollar uber ride versus a 4 dollar one, and I have a broken foot, but I picked up my prescription there within 30 minutes. SEE? SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND THE PHARMACIST AT THE OTHER CVS APOLOGIZED THAT I HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. It is a CVS. As far as I can tell this location is as homogenized and milquetoast as any other CVS across the USA. This to me says that they are doing their job right. I don't think my own ideal of the white-coat clad elderly man with coke-bottle lenses patiently and courteously explaining the various nuisances of my specific problem is even tangentially related to the reality of things. In fact, with regards to convenience (see: 24 hours) and cleanliness and safety, CVS seems to have improved in quality from its original inception after the Peoples Drug buy-out about 15 years ago. At this location in particular the staff is actually really helpful, once I even got a consultation from a pharmacist on allergy medication as my brand was out of stock. And I always see people being helped at the digital photo machine and with the self check-outs. The staff does seem flustered sometimes and this can be attributed to the fact that the Port Richmond/Kensiington/Fishtown neighborhood to which this location is of service is exceptionally diverse and growing steadily. Doling out poor marks to corporate mega stores is quite possibly a case of a peoples narcissistic need to be acknowledged when their media-inflated expectations about the service sector are not being constantly met or exceeded, not to mention futile. 3 stars, no less, no more read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am very unhappy with the way I was treated recently at your Store: # 2205 (aramingo) location. When we go to a Pharmacy we are not usually well and could use more empathetic people. I went to return a medication that my boyfriend was advised to purchase. I had the flu with achy symptoms and a fever. She gave him a decongestant. I wanted something else. So upon returning the item myself, she was quite harsh and rash. When I approached the counter there was a gentleman in front of me waiting for service. The woman who would later "help" me didn't even look away from her computer screen from across the room to tell him someone was trying to process his information through his insurance. (Not very private, to yell this across the entire pharmacy). She waited 3 more minutes to tell me someone would be right with me, also NOT looking away from her screen and sounding like I was an inconvenience. She came over an additional 4 minutes later and I told her I wanted to return the medication she recommended. She explained that this was what I should be taking. I repeated myself that I wanted to return it because it is not what I want. Although, I was clear she continued to explain what the medication does. She basically cited everything off of the box, which I read myself before going out in the cold with a fever. I asked for a store credit and she gave me cash since it was purchased with a debit card. This is NOT what I asked for. Apparently CVS is not as great as the commercials make you out to be. I felt like I was in a free clinic and I had to wait my turn for poor service and lousy treatment. The woman who helped me was Jody. She was rude and her tone was nasty. I was clearly inconveniencing her by being a customer. Jody did NOT listen to anything I had to say and to frank; she was very sloppy to be working behind a pharmacy counter with sick people and medication. I used to love this CVS location since it was convenient to my house and office, open 24 hours, and is generally pretty well-stocked. However, since being prescribed a specific medication, I have had nothing but problems! Without going into too much personal detail, my insurance will not cover this particular medication because it is considered an "experimental" treatment for my condition. This is fine, and I'm more than happy to pay out of pocket every month. But for some reason, every time I came to this CVS to try and have the prescription filled, they were "out of stock." This is odd to me because I have friends who are on the same medication/dosage/manufacturer that have no issue getting this medication. The only difference is that their insurance company has approved it. Eventually, after trying for three months to fill my prescription at this location, one of the pharm techs informed me that their store policy is to not fill any prescriptions for that medication that are not covered by insurance. This is poor business practice to deny patients with legitimate prescriptions from getting their medications - my only crime is having a complicated case that necessitates non-traditional treatment, but the employees and store policy here paints me as nothing but a drug-seeking addict. Apparently, uninsured patients don't deserve to receive medically necessary prescriptions, either. I went to the Rite Aid on Aramingo Ave. and had no trouble with any of my prescriptions. I will be taking ALL my pharmacy needs there in the future, and will tell everyone in my neighborhood to do business there as well! read more

The woman working the night shift @3am 1/14/2018 treated me like total garbage, beginning by yelling at me while I was at the self checkout while making eye gestures to security, she screamed that they only take cash there during these hours, like I should know? And then she continued to speak over me and aggressively ordered me around while I nervously fumbled with my purchase. She said I needed my cvs card and people have problems for not bringing it, I've been using my phone # for 10yrs!! I'm extremly ill, aren't most patrons Ill or in pain in cvs!? It's 3am I'm so ill I can not sleep, I have a funeral to go to in 3 hours. I'm currently uninsured and struggling to find a solution to my illness. I explained this to her and she brushed me off. I really like this CVS. There is always parking. It's easy to get to from I-95, Girard Ave and York St., and it's one of the only 24-hour stores in Philadelphia I feel safe going to late at night (unlike the Wawa just across the street for some reason...). Also, a 24 hour pharmacy is really helpful too. read more
