I am totally obsessed with CVS and their discounts. When my health plan selected CVS as the default pharmacy, I began shopping there more and receiving coupons and special offers, and the more I shopped there, the more discount offers and coupons I got. I have never been a coupon queen before, so I'm not sure where this obsession comes from, and it only applies to CVS. But boy, do I get some good deals here! Today I racked up a total of $108, and my discounts, coupons and specials took the total down to $60, plus I got $11 of ExtraBucks to use towards my next trip there. Shopping at CVS is one of the few things in my life that actually gives me a feeling of success and accomplishment! This is a full-sized CVS and it's a standard layout. It's in a good location in East Passyunk, and it has a parking lot, which is helpful in this neighborhood. It is well stocked, though some items like toothpaste and soap are locked up and you have to track down a worker to access them, but that's pretty standard now in Philly and other big cities, unfortunately. The pharmacy staff has always been friendly and efficient, though the other day I heard a man swearing because the pharmacy had closed for lunch, so be aware of that if you're picking up a prescription at that time of day. I will be returning shortly, because as soon as I checked out I received a coupon for $6 of my purchase of $20 or more, and it expires in a week! read more

The two kids working the cash register back there were just giggling and laughing about the fact that they were afraid to pick up the phone when he stepped away. The guy at the cash register had a gallon of water he was drinking out of & was munching on a bag of chips. Feels pretty much like a free-for-all run by high school students. So convenient & they have a great selection, now improved thru store reorganization & yes they fixed all of the checkout machines! S and I had been galavanting in the deep south and we had run out of cash....my brilliant fuzzy brain said AHA! I will buy something in CVS and the magical machine will spit cash out at me! Voila and it did. I love drugstores and grocery stores. I am weird like that. I go to a different state, I'm dying to see what local fare can be had cheer wine, moxie, fiddleheads. In Mexico I once took a taxi to the grocery store and paid him to sit outside so I could peruse the store and have a ride back to the hotel. It was worth it. Every CVS is different from Maine to Florida. This one is much bigger compared to the ones in center city. I would definitely frequent it if i lived nearby! read more

This store is an absolute disgrace and the manager should be fired immediately. I went in to get a covid test after two days of waiting, and it was completely unclear where they were located. I called ahead of time, and the person who answered was rude and ended up hanging up on me. I then waited in several different lines, first at the pharmacy and then at the front of the store. Then, I see a man with a bunch of boxes yelling "covid tests" near the self checkout, as if he's Santa Claus throwing presents to people. It isn't clear whether there is a line to get the tests, or if the line is for the self checkout, and also zero clue as to where any of these lines should be formed. Please, for the sake of everyone facing the beginning of a long apocalypse, learn how to run your store properly!! And don't hang up on people, dickwad!! read more

If you need sometime after hours, grab what you need. The staff I find to be extremely rude, and unwelcoming. There are also random times its a dead zone. No employees to be found. This CVS enforces the self check out which I do not prefer. Infact the employee checking me out was complaining about how people can check themself out. And when I explained that I prefer a store clerk check me out, he went on to say there is an employee there, that watches. I will ship here as little as I can. Wow- I thought I would be helping out the community with my review, but it appears that all the other reviewers have experiences the same thing! The staff at the pharmacy generally are unorganized and act with little sense of urgency. On one day, I've experienced 5 employees behind the counter and many customers not being helped. I was standing at the consult counter and two of those said employees looked at me, neither coming to assist. I decided to give them a minute. They proceeded to talk about their chex mix and complain about another customer that just called. A third employee then walked by the counter and she was shocked to see me and asked if I was being helped. This is not an atypical situation. The employees who assist in the self check-out are generally friendly and assist as needed in that area. The only reason I keep coming back for more, they are open 24 hours. read more

This is a solid 24/7 CVS in South Philly. Good to know this if you are traveling to the city from out-of-town and need to get your essentials. There's a parking lot in front of the store, so it gets points from me for that (parking in this part of town can be tough). There's a Santander ATM inside, and it's a pretty large CVS store. The greeters, cashiers, and pharmacist were nice to me when I went. However, as I read the other Yelp reviews, maybe I was lucky that day. This CVS is located close to my apartment and has a parking lot attached to it. The inside is usually clean and has a good amount of things you can purchase. The staff is nothing to rave about but they do their job. I don't come here late at night so mostly speaking on the day time staff. The place is open 24 hours a day which is great for people who aren't early birds like myself and stay up late. Theirs also a Dunkin Donuts next door and some type of car shop as well. The parking lot really helps because street parking can be a hassle in this area. I also enjoy the fact they have coupons inside and I at times use my rewards to save some money on purchases that I make. The ATM inside is a bonus but you can also take cash out I believe when you check out but don't quote me on it. I feel as if the pan handlers in the area aren't too bad for the most part. I'm not really bothered by them as I just keep to myself. However their are some unique individuals that like to spend time in the immediate area for some odd reason. The pharmacy here I'm sure is great but I've never personally used it. All in all a solid place to come for little items and such. read more

This particular location gives me the willies. The last time I went into this store, I heard the following quote from the cashier at the photo department: "Shit! I'm going to have to ring you up in the front because this register decided to be a 'tard." (!!!) Then, as I was shopping for odds and ends, I noticed a man following me around the store. While comparing prices on deodorant, I saw him at the end of the aisle, crouching down in a squat, and staring at me. After making my purchases, I was fiddling with my bike lock at their inefficient bike rack (small semi circles 6" in height stuck into the concrete) for several minutes. (Seriously, how am I supposed to wrap/unwrap a U-lock around my bike and into that mess?) Finally, as I unlocked and mounted my bike, I saw the man standing directly in front of me, behind the window, STILL STARING AT ME. The people who work the night shift are incredible, sometimes assholish, but then you realize they're working the night shift and dealing with drunks the entire time. Just the worst, as far as pharmacies go. Big selection of products in the store, but if you want to actually fill a prescription, prepare to wait your life away just to drop it off. This morning I arrived with the store empty. One man cut in front of me at the drop off counter (fine, I defer to my elders. No problem.) but then I wait twenty minutes behind him while the tech fills what must be the world's most complicated order. At least fifteen people are served at the pickup and consultation stations, while not a single worker comes over to the drop off. No one apologizes for the wait. No one even acknowledges me. So I walked out. It would take less time to drive across the city to another location and get it filled than it would to wait here. Sadly, this is at least the third time I've walked out rather than wasting my whole morning here. Sigh. read more

My instinct is to compare the atmosphere to a low rent methadone clinic, but I wouldn't disparage the fine reputation of said clinic. The pharmacy is a joke. I just stood waiting to get an rx filled while the woman ignored me and talked on the phone for 10 minutes. Finally takes my script, walks to the back without saying anything, comes back and says "we don't have it. It's on order" and walks away. I've never had a smooth transaction here unless it's the self checkout. The only plus to this place is the people watching. Any CHUD hunters out there, just roll into this place any time after 12 (am or pm) and you'll find more outpatients than teeth, and don't even get me started on the customers! Whoever gets kicked out of the 24 hour dunkin donuts for being disruptive just strolls 2 doors down, shambles into the lobby and starts asking for toenails. This place is hot garbage. Just go to the good cvs on Washington. The pharmacy Manger there is awesome. Side note: why is there always, ALWAYS, someone parked in front of the store, caddy corner, not in a spot. Always. I've never been here and not seen someone parked like an idiot. They have a big lot. This location doesn't seem to have that ONE aisle where all the sale items are. This is something I'm used to from the 19th & Chestnut CVS and it was really helpful. Like all the other CVS stores, the sale items are located at the end of the aisles and are also marked within the aisles for easy spotting. As far as service, there are more young teenagers here than any of the other CVS I've been to. Don't be surprised when you're at the register, there are about 4 of them behind the counter carrying on, as kids tend to do. That doesn't mean these kids are total jerks, they're just young and the ones that have rung me up have been polite and friendly. This store is part of a mini strip mall. It is 24 hours, has an ATM inside, as well as pharmacy and 1-hr photo. It has a big parking lot and is next to a 24 hour Dunkin' Donuts. There is also an Acme and Rita's in the area. read more

The convenience of being open 24 hours is nice. The incompetent staff is slightly less nice. Plenty of stores operate smoothly. This one has almost all staff arguing with customers at almost all times. The issue appears to be laziness combined with an unwillingness to serve the customers putting money in their pockets. "Can I get this and this script filled?" "Yes. *fills all the wrong scripts*" It's also super fucking annoying when the pharmacy fucks up and won't apologize and then makes you wait an hour for them to correct the error. read more

They just recently renovated this CVS and it is fantastic. I was already satisfied with the selection of products they have available here, but the only problem I found with the store was the check-out line and sometimes the customer service in the check-out line. With the new renovation, they have added in self-checkouts, so that eliminates this issue. Great selection of high-end hair products and cosmetics. I'm pretty certain this is the case with all CVS stores. It's great that I can purchase these items at a lower price than at most salons. read more

I'm only giving this location 5 stars because it sucks way less than the other two CVS locations at my disposal. This one is open 24 hours, has some refrigerated food options like salads and wraps and stuff, and has a self-checkout. The self-checkout is the real clincher here. The other two CVS locations in my area (11th and Washington and 11th and South) have the slowest check-outs of any store i've been to ever. I can't tell you the number of times i've stopped into one of those stores on the way to work for a drink or a pack of smokes and just left in frustration because the line was too long and moving too slow. I used to work at a Rite Aid. When we had more than 3 people in line we called for backup. CVS apparently doesnt have any such rule. But, i digress. This particular location has self-checkout so you don't have to wait in long lines with slow cashiers! It's the only in the city CVS i'll go to! read more

The store and employees are fine. In fact, a couple of the employees are VERY fine...as in "sexy as hell." But all these complaints about the pharmacy are 100% accurate. They never act with any sense of urgency, even though the line of customers is usually at least 5 deep, and they display almost zero empathy. When you call, you're always on hold for at least a couple minutes before you end up talking to someone who sounds too bored to be bothered. My doctor said they sent a prescription to CVS a few days ago. I still hadn't received the call from CVS telling me that it's ready. I just called and a girl (who sounded too tired to fully form words) managed to tell me that she sees it in the system. She said they can fill it today if I'd like to pick it up. I said, "Well, yeah." Her response: "It'll be about an hour to ninety minutes." #1. WHY WOULD IT TAKE 90 MINUTES TO PUT PILLS IN A BOTTLE?! #2. WHY DID THEY NOT FILL THE RX WHEN IT ORIGINALLY CAME IN FROM MY DOCTOR?! The answer to both questions is "incompetence." read more

can't say anything bad about this 24 Hour CVS except the pharmacy lines can get busy during peak hours around 6 to 9pm. I've stayed here because their pharmacy is open 24 hours a day. They have a very disorganized system. It took forever to find medication when it was sitting right in front of them. They have 4 self service counters to expedite checkouts. shelves seem organized. I am a huge fan of CVS. There is rarely a time when I can walk out without spending $50. I used to live in Margate, NJ across the street from the CVS there and in the summer there is no way the line isn't 10 deep. But I was content to wait everytime because they always had at least 2 or 3 registers open with all associates helping someone. Last week I went into this CVS for the first time only to buy paper towels and toilet paper (The good/expensive kinds were on sale). I was very unhappy to see that there was a line around 12 people deep and instead of just ringing people up and also having the self check out available, the store associate was handling technical problems in the self check out lines. First, there was only one worker available and there were so many issues with the self checkout system that if the regular register was open, it would have taken about 1/3 of the time to get everyone checked out! I was very unhappy with this system and already have my own issues about self checkout taking away important jobs in the community. I obviously will be going back to CVS, I love their rewards program and all my favorite hygiene products are in one place, but I will protest self checkouts forever! Or until we develop jobs to replace those lost by technology! read more

First of all, all the cashiers looked pissed off every time I go in to shop???? and whatever happen to "hello, welcome to CVS" The thing with make me pissed-off along with horrible customer services is why give me the CVS extracare coupon when your cashier give me a hard time when I use it...If this is your marketing strategy to make the consumers shop more at your store, then train all your staffs to deal with a smile. Also with the manufacture coupons too. It's not your cashiers own money, it's from the manufactures that give out these coupons for consumers to use, not CVS, or those cashiers whom work there so stop give us a hard time. I don't want to shop here anymore even though I live 2 blocks away and I've shopping here for the last 10 years...But now I get the message, YOU DON"T WANT ME TO SHOP HERE so I won't anymore, from now on I would rather go to Walgreen or RiteAids which are further for better customer services and better deals. This has got to be the worst pharmacy in Philadelphia. The amount of pharmacy tech's almost always outnumbers the amount of people in line for prescriptions, yet somehow, they are all too busy to acknowledge the people in line, or worse, actually HELP us. Every single time I go here, and I go to the pharmacy at least twice a month,I have to stare down someone for a few minutes before one of them tells another one to help me. Don't even bother to ask them to hold a prescription for you, because they will ignore you. The pharmacy techs here do not give a shit about you, or doing their job efficiently. I have had so many issues with this incompetent staff that I can't recommend this pharmacy to anyone. read more

I tried printing "photos in seconds" on Wednesday, August 9, around 4PM. I hadnt printed at CVS in a long time; the photos used to print right below the screen. There was no printer there so I thought the photos would print behind the register. I left to get groceries across the street, expecting to pickup and pay for the photos after. When I got back, the cashier showed me where the photos would have printed, just a few feet from the screens. I was embarrassed I hadnt seen that, but the photos hadnt printed, and the employees on shift didnt know how to print the order. I didnt get the name of the female employee who helped me, but she said I could place the order again, at the one hour photo kiosk and the photos would print instantly because there were no other orders to print. I had frozen pizza in my backpack, but I took the time to place the order again because I needed the photos for the weekend, and the cashier was really kind about it; I couldnt be mad at her. The cashier told me that she would give me $5 OFF the order to apologize for the trouble. I really appreciated that; I told her that I had experienced this situation at a Target recently so I was frustrated to experience it again. The order was rung up under Davon since the female cashier was showing him how to ring up an hour photo order. Despite the trouble, I really appreciated the patience and understanding of this employee, including her leasership in training Davon. Thank you. I hope the manager on duty sees this and knows how hard this employee works. read more

They must have changed the staff since the prior reviews. I've had nothing but good experiences at this pharmacy. My doctor screwed up my prescription. The pharmacist (Nick) on several occasions was not only patient but went above and beyond to try to get the doctor to correct the problem. Being in the service industry, I appreciate when people put forth the effort to do there job well. read more

The one star is for the pharmacy. This is THE WORST pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. They rarely have your prescription ready when it should be and the customer service is beyond abhorable. I dropped my refill off the other night and was told to wait 35 minutes for it to be filled. I came back about 45 minutes later to a line in Pick-Up that extended around two aisles long. After waiting in this line for about 20 minutes, I was told the prescription was not filled. I was asked to wait to the side with about 10 other people who had experienced the same thing for our names to be called. I waited about 20 additional minutes for my name to be called. When my name was called I was told to get back in line. I refused and went to the front of the store to get a manager. There was a supervisor available and she advised me that she couldnt do much about it because the pharmacy was separate. She told the clerk to allow me to pick up my prescription without getting back in line. When I said something to the clerk about how frustrated I was, she told me "I don't really care." This is not the first time I've dealt with shoddy customer service at the CVS pharmacy but this time was beyond acceptable. I have filed a complaint with CVS corporate and unless they do something to resolve the situation over there, I will no longer be a customer of this CVS. I also will encourage my neighbors (we are a pretty connected neighborhood) to avoid it. This shouldn't be too difficult as many of us who have dealt with the pharmacy have had negative experiences. read more

I live a couple blocks away from this CVS, and its the best one i've been to. I go there all the time to print pictures, pick up odds and ends, or just for a late night/early morning ice cream run. The staff is super friendly, and helpful. There is a associate named Dimary who works at the photocenter, and the last time I was in there particularly, she was a great help. I printed a photo book keepsake of my wedding photos late one night, and even though I chose the one hour option, she offered to put the book together for me if I wanted to wait a couple minutes, i ended up waiting around a half hour, at which she notified me that the photo printer was giving her issues, and she didn't want to give me a photo book with toner marks on the pages, because I had paid for it and therefore it should be of good quality. She told me the machine needed to be cleaned. and if it wasn't to much of an issue I could pick it up the next day. I came back next afternoon, and she not only put the book together for me, but also gave me a discount, and extra bucks, due to all the issues I had getting the actual book printed. I was very pleased with her help, there are not many employees who will go out of their way to help a customer like that, her professionalism and friendliness is definitely one for the books read more

Convenient, but the pharmacy can get backed up from their slow computer systems. Otherwise the pharmacists are great and efficient!

Out of the last year and a half, I can't say the pharmacy has ever actually filled my prescription on time. I get there and wait in an incredibly long line to only be told "Oops... we don't have it ready. Wait 10 minutes?" Then I either decide to sit and wait the 30 minutes it will end up taking, or coming back the next day only to possibly still not have it filled. The rest of the store is OK I guess. Most of the employees are decent and nice except one woman who often works the self checkout. She often seems angry and isn't too helpful unless you happen to ask her to help you get cigarettes. That apparently cheers her up. I think ACME is probably a better place. read more

A fellow customer was verbally abusive and made multiple physical threats towards me directly in front of staff and nobody did anything about it. The fact that a customer was physically threatened by another customer in front of store staff and not immediately ejected from the store is deplorable. Worse yet, this belligerent customer and store staff were on a first name basis. She said multiple times that she was a regular customer to this store which justified her threats. The staff didn't react to this, leading me to believe that this isn't the first time it has happened. I was in your store with my 2 year old daughter on a Friday afternoon, I demand a safe and comfortable shopping experience and didn't receive it. This needs to be rectified immediately, I can't justify going back to a CVS if this is the shopping experience provided read more
