The theming is cute, and it has the nostalgia of an old diner. However, the place was filthy... notified hostess staff that the restrooms were very, very dirty, and one hostess said, "I knew I shouldn't have answered the phone today and come in." The floor of the entire restaurant was very dirty, and it just didn't appear orderly. We were promptly seated when our waitlist time came up. Server was not attentive, and we could see her joking around and playing in the corner by the drink refill station while our drinks were empty and shakes were sitting waiting. We watched our milkshakes sit on the counter for over 5 minutes after they were prepared, and several employees looked at them and walked past them. Milkshakes were delicious after a long wait, and the food was very good too. French fries were great with cheese. We had a chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, cheese fries, and kids grilled cheese! A drink was spilled near our table, and several employees witnessed the spill and turned their backs. A few of them even walked over the spill and continued to serve their tables. About 10 minutes after the spill, someone finally put up wet floor signs and mopped the floor. It's a splurge- expensive for diner food, but the atmosphere could be very fun with better service and a more cleanly environment!

Walked around the candy shop while we waited. Full service sitdown restaurant. Fast and friendly service in a casual atmosphere. Go with the mindset that you're treating yourself, as it's almost impossible to eat healthy here. The loaded milkshakes are a meal in and of themselves. Cost as much as a full meal, too. Cotton Candy 2.0 is one of those special milkshakes. So crazy that it also had a lollipop and pop tart in it! Shared some chicken tenders with choice of sauce as well. Trying not to think how many thousands of calories I inhaled, but it was worth it! Everything was delicious!

Came here after an amazing dinner at Jalea to bring ice cream home to our kids and share in our…read moreanniversary celebration. The experience was just okay and follow up observations mean this business will no longer receive mine. Upon walking in, there was a couple eating ice cream at a booth, but it was otherwise empty minus the five workers leaning against the back counter waiting. They were all patient as we tried to decide what to get, but none of them came across as friendly. We ordered four bowls of ice cream and a cake for my wife to share with our son. Being that we were traveling, I asked for lids and a worker began handing me lids for ice cream that had not been given to us yet. After an awkward interaction, she took half of the lids while reached over the counter to secure the lid on one of the bowls. As for the ice cream, it was good and creamy. The cake was good too. Is it remarkable? No, but it is good. Here is the bad: - the shop was moved away from the heart of Main St. traffic and on a busy night, the shop showed minimal business. - the ice cream, while good, isn't good enough to take a special trip from the heart of Main St. - the workers, while plentiful and free to take your order, did not appear cheerful or happy to be there. - post-election, the owners shared an immature post assuring anyone who did not vote for Kamala that they were not welcome there (pictures shared because they are relevant). It is a disappointment to see what has become of what was once a landmark on Main St. I didn't vote for hate and all of that, but I can recognize the nonsense of refusing business to anyone who did not vote their way - especially in an area where two new good ice cream shops failed (Crave the Curls and The Baked Bear) over the last few years. If you want good ice cream and you are closer and this doesn't bother you, then it offers good ice cream minus friendly demeanors. If you are closer to anywhere in the heart of Main St., it really isn't worth the walk.

We tried their bottled rootbeer and I had a homemade phosphorous soda. Both so good! They have several monthly specials like ice cream, etc. Service was wonderful and the inside is like going back in time. Fair prices as well. I will certainly be back to try some homemade ice cream!

Fun times at Jennifer's!…read more Not only is it a girlie haven in terms of fabulous little party gifts and cutesy birthday ideas, books, things with feathers on it and any sort of frou-frou thing you can imagine, but it's also a great pharmacy specializing in natural/homeopathic products. AND it's got a fairly new soda fountain. Apparently, the owner always dreamt of running her own fountaing and I think purchased one on Ebay. It really adds to the originality of the place. It's just an all-around fun place to visit. They expanded not long ago, so there's even more stuff from which to choose. I like their large selection of liquid stevia and teas. They actually have some stuff you can't find at Whole Foods. Imagine that! AND you're supporting a locally owned business. Always a good thing!

There is an actual pharmacy at the back of the store, although I never actually got back that far. i was far too enthralled by all the kitschy gifts and just generally fun stuff they had for sale in the store. Just all kinds of goofiness. Great time for browsing/shopping. The soda/food bar was a real throwback. You just sit on one of the '50s time warp bar stools and place your order. I got me a chili dog, a Festivus for the Restivus ice cream soda (more on that later), and then the waitresses talked me into a slice of chocolate meringue - yeah, you heard me right - pie. The chili dog "prep" area is pretty unassuming, a simple hot dog roller and a couple of crock pots. But hey, home made chili fixin's sure beat from a can. And they asked me if I wanted cheese and onions, so I was able to say yes but light on the onion. That's how it came, too. The chili dog was pretty good. Standard dog, but seemed to be a larger variety. Chili was definitely home made, with a nice variety of ingredients. Just a bit bland, though. The Festivus for the Restivus ice cream soda was from a list of 5 Holiday Specials they had for shakes and ice cream sodas. Festivus is made of blueberry and blackberry syrups in seltzer with ice cream. I know the name has nothing to do with the ingredients, but it was still mighty tasty. An authentic soda jerk drink, that you just don't find anymore. Now they intrigued me with the suggestion of chocolate meringue pie for dessert. I was already full, but....anyway, my slice was the first one from the pie that had just come out of the oven. Nice thing about meringue, you can slice it while it is still hot. So I get this pie slice with a real crust, hot chocolate filling, and 3 inches of meringue. Who'd a thought those flavors would mix so well. They do! A final thought on the waitresses. They were a hoot. Very friendly, talkative, fun, don't mind kidding you - and they even took a picture of me and my pie slice & put it on the store's Facebook page (with my permission, of course). So the food was pretty good, the place is great to browse, and the experience was enjoyable.
