I've always loved the look of this CVS on Whittier Blvd -- the architecture is super unique. I've heard people call it the "gothic CVS" and I totally dig that. I mainly use the pharmacy drive-thru and it's a lifesaver. Way more convenient than going inside, especially when the store is packed and I'm trying to avoid crowds. I would like to acknowledge Angel, Tony and Rosemary. Angel has went above and beyond every time I have visited the store. I purchased 2 chocolate bars and the person who was sweeping the floor-a young lady with black hair-clearly saw me paying with my card. As I was exiting she wanted to see my receipt. I asked why since she saw me paying and I wanted to talk to her supervisor. She kept saying " Thank you" and things like that . Pharmacist Brian Lee is the worst and most unprofessional manager I've come across. Came in to pick up urgent medication for my grandfather, the first Hispanic mentioned they didn't start on it since they didn't have the insurance when the hospital confirmed it was ready 2 hours prior. So I was sent back in line to the drop off, I then gave Brian my story, obviously I was frustrated at the situation not him...but he was then very very rude and denied my medication "because of that tone". Then went ahead and sent it to a different pharmacy and refused to help with any more info. I said "f*** you*** and he screamed accross the store "F*** YOU TOO BI***". Keep in mind I also live 2 hrs away and both pharmacies were impossible to communicate with. I will be proceeding with a lawsuit. I highly recommend avoiding this CVS especially for medication. It's been a few times when my mom wasn't given the correct amount of medication. When we complained about it the staff became very rude and tried to put the blame on us despite the prescription missing around 6 pills. Again this was not the first time. read more

Every time I go there the cashier is completely overwhelmed with both the main counter and the countless people doing self check out. Usually they're friendly but today I got a you color haired girl who apparently is afraid of dogs and who has never read the CVS pet policy which allows pet owners to bring in their dogs, instead of just asking me not to bring him she also insulted me in front of everyone. Wow. Such a great experience here this afternoon! The idea of a drive thru pharmacy is such a novelty (I'm from Australia) but I had the idea to find one to pick up a prescription during COVID. It's so good that in these times you can video call a physician and then pick-up medication ALL contact free and safely. The drive thru is around the back of the store. I was a little confused how it worked at first, but just like a fast food restaurant you drive up to the box, and then give your details. The speaker box is also a tube which the pharmacy puts your medications in and you also place your card into. The pharmacist spoke to me over the speaker (the same service as if I'd have gone inside the store!) I would hiiiiiighly recommend coming here - there were no lines like drive thru Starbucks or in n out (ha!) and it was way less stressful than I thought it may be. More. Of. This! read more

I'm visiting from out of state and left my diabetes medication at home. I called this cvs to see if there was any way I could buy a few of my pills out of pocket for the remainder of my trip and the woman who I spoke with on the phone ended up being the pharmacist on shift. She was very nice and made sure I got my pills as soon as possible. I didn't catch her name but she was a younger black haired woman. 10/10 great experience. She was so quick to help me and because of her my blood sugar will be under control for my trip. :) read more

They have everything you need but the pharmacy service is hit or miss. Sometimes they want to charge me copays for prescriptions that other pharmacies do not. I'd rather get my prescriptions at Rite Aid or preferably a small pharmacy. I rather support mom and pop pharmacies anyway. read more

Glad that there is a closer cvs. The self check-out is really convenient. I'm usually in and out. Parking is never a problem. Security guards are pretty fast well at least the girl is. Yesterday and today were my first time trying to get some meds at the pharmacy for myself. I was told that the paper I gave them wasn't something they could take. They guy helping me was super helpful. His name is Daniel. He kept my paper and said he'd help with it the following day. I called to see what was going on and Dan asked if I wanted to wait or gets a call back as soon as they get a hold of someone. Got a call back from the pharmacist. I'm pretty sure it's the same Asian lady that helped my friend and I when my friend needed some meds. She is really really nice and quick and helpful. The customer service from the CVS staff go from 5 to 1 stars depending on what time of day you go. Today was the most horrible experience. Today I went to cvs on whittier and Atlantic they are phasing out using a register. I really only use the pharmacy don't shop much at the cvs store my vision is terriable I was treated rudely from supv angelene I expressed to her why are you so rude when I asked for her mgr she said im supv I said no what's your mgr name and your name she said that she was going to give it to me. This girl acted like she owed cvs one thing I dont tolerate is rude people or people that work for a company but refuse to give there name I went to pharmacy to get her name and her mgr name Augustin but called there corp so that district mgr Caroline could return my call she didn't want to help me cuz she was on phone self check out doesn't work for me and I want to clarify this has nothing to do with pharmacy its the store supv angelene who really needs to check herself alot of other people can take her job she needs to go back to basic 101 etiquette of how to treat a customer she obviously doesn't know how to multitasking and I think she needs to go back to storage room were she doesn't have to deal with public not wanting to give me her name or her mgr name is so unprofessional read more

Beautiful inside ceiling architecture. It was once movie theater back in the days. Its a small cvs but does carry everything a regular size cvs does except in smaller quantities. So if your looking for something thats a great sale price you might not find it. Unless your in early bird. Overall I like this cvs in East Los. read more

Watch out for the prices when you check out. I've been here a couple of times and the listed price on the stands is not what the cashier or the self check out says. A manager is called to "fix" the issue and for some reason it's always at least 15 minutes before they come out. It doesn't help that they always have one cashier for the whole store. read more
