They took care of me here. The pharmacist was honest with me on the phone about availability of my…read moremedication, giving me exactly what I needed to know (they had enough to fill my prescription), which is far more information than I am accustomed to in NYC. He also showed flexibility and good judgment, checking my history thoroughly before filling the only medication I couldn't fill on any other day thanks to the new "tough on drugs" law. Everyone was really helpful and friendly, but I mostly dealt with the pharmacist (Steve), who I know had to make sure everything including me since I'd never been there before, was legit. He noticed my jersey and we talked hockey and had a nice conversation while he snuck in the questions I know he had to ask to make sure I have medical problems and I'm not a criminal. This process can be unpleasant but Steve made it feel like I was just talking with a friend. I like that he was up front with me about the verification process, so I knew what to expect (which would mean leaving and coming back later because I knew my doctor couldn't take a phone call right then). The pharmacy contacted me as soon as the prescription was verified, letting me know I could pick it up anytime from 15 minutes later until the store closed. I believe it was the pharmacist himself who called. I've never seen this level of customer service anywhere, and I've moved around a lot, living in environments ranging from semi-rural to urban. It was easy to find the other items I needed in the store, which was clean and well organized. I actually spent very little time in the store. There was virtually no waiting anywhere - the main register, the pharmacy drop-off counter, the pharmacy pick-up counter, even on the phone. I did my research before picking a pharmacy and walked into Kinney with high expectations. Every single one of those expectations was exceeded. This place makes needing medication less painful. I will definitely be returning. The entire staff seemed to go out of their way to make me happy and meet all of my needs.

I have been getting my prescriptions here since they opened their doors for business. Steve and…read moreall the help behind the counter are great. Ready to be of help on any problems that arise. I recommend this store to all my friends.

To turn down someone who has the proof of being eligible and simply wants to help the community heal from this pandemic is disgusting. It's especially disturbing considering the amount of vaccines that go to waste each day. I know many people who are also newly eligible that received vaccines with no issue in nearly any nearby Walgreens. In fact, Walgreens employees were begging these people to inform and bring others that are newly eligible since they had so many appointments/vaccines that were going to waste. DO NOT COME HERE. Afterwards, they proceeded to make me feel awful for trying to get a vaccine. HELLO?!?!? THE MORE PEOPLE THAT GET THE VACCINE THE BETTER! AND IM ELIGIBLE! I cannot express enough how disappointed I am by this, especially after driving 2 hours to get there. I went in excited to be a part of something good within this horrible pandemic and left feeling like an asshole, which there was no reason for me to feel like. Reminder to those who might feel bad for getting a vaccine: don't! You are not "taking" anyone else's vaccine! You are helping! You are doing good for the community! Protect yourself and others; get your vaccine!

Though it's only about a 20 minute drive from civilization, when you're in a pinch and need one item quick, a 20 minute drive is forever. That's where D&R comes in. On the corner of Amber Rd and Otisco Valley Rd is D&R Convenience, a little unassuming building right across from Otisco Lake. But D&R is more than your normal convenience store. They have close to EVERYTHING you need in a pinch, and a couple other items you may not expect. The store is basically divided up into three sections. The right hand portion is your normal convenience/quick grocery store portion. Soda, beer, canned goods, candy, bread, milk, some frozen items, etc. The middle section is 90% hardware/tools, and 10% toys with a small assortment of kids toys. The hardware section has come in handy...nuts, bolts, duct tape, piping, hand tools, etc....a lot more than you'd expect. Definitely useful if you're trying to fix something and don't have the right tool, and don't wanna drive into the city to buy one. It's not Home Depot or anything, but there's a pretty wide selection of home improvement stuff if you need it quickly. The third section on the left is their deli. They have a wide assortment of different subs and sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and even pizza and wings. My wife and I order from here regularly. Most of their stuff is pretty good, especially for a convenience store. They have some great loaded fries, huge portion too. Their subs can be really good. Haven't tried their pizza and wings yet. They also do ice cream in the warmer months. But they have a random assortment of other things too. DVDs, fish bait, lottery tickets, and they have a couple gas pumps as well. Everything besides their deli is a couple cents/dollars more expensive than your city stores, but nothing crazy, and worth it if you need something quick. You'd spend the extra cents/dollars in gas driving anywhere else anyway. Their employees are always very nice and helpful. There's a $5 minimum for any credit/debit card transactions. You need some canned tomatoes? They have it. A wrench? D&Rs got you. A sandwich? Oh yeah, you can get that too.
