I switched from Walgreens because I got tired of issues with them. I"m new to CVS but so far so good.

I've driven by Fox's probably a trillion times. I never stopped, even when it was a working…read moredrugstore. Yesterday, I decided to visit Fox's for an ice cream soda. You see, I run, and running makes me want ice cream. So this time instead of stopping at Sonics.... I went in, and was surprised at the weird empty shelves on one end. The other part is a long old time 50's looking ice cream soda bar. There was '50's music playing. There are some booths. The menu is not large, but there's only one woman serving. I ordered a hot dog which was 3.50 and a strawberry ice cream soda. I was hoping for strawberry topping in the soda, but she used strawberry flavoring. I was hoping for whipped cream, but it wasn't offered. The soda was good. The hotdog was common. It isn't like Clintons Soda Fountain in Independence which is really good and uses toppings and fruit. Fox's was fun for an outing. But I'd rather go to Clintons Soda Fountain. The service, though, was spot on and enjoyable.

The nostalgic bug bit me and I had to relive the childhood sundry experience. The fountain is located too the left when you enter the pharmacy. It has a counter the length of the building and some tables. The vibe was definitely the old school fountain, neon, oldies in the radio, fizzes, ice cream, etc. There menu is very limited for food. Hot dogs, tuna salad, egg salad, grilled cheese, and chili. They have a grill but when they reopened the health department said they needed a new hood limiting the options. I had a inbetweenie weenie, Frito pie with a hot dog, and a chocolate shake. The hot dog was ok. Nothing fabulous, not bad. A little bland and no heat in the chili. The chocolate shake was good, but not wow. Service was very friendly although some comments made me uncomfortable and responding with a nod and smile seemed best. My bill was $11.11. not ridiculous, but sure seemed high for what I had. I don't think I'll eat there again. Maybe go with a group to enjoy the fountain experience. They close at 4. Later hours could really help the I've cream side of the business.

But, because of its proximity to my house and convenience of ordering a calendar there, I placed an order for pickup. It came in a few days ago, I got one email confirming it was ready for pickup, and I headed in today. The woman at the counter asked for my last name, and then didn't listen as I spelled it for her. She looked under the wrong name for ages, typed in my name (maybe incorrectly, after I confirmed it twice for her), and then simply said "We don't have your order" and stared at me. She didn't ask a question, just looked at me like I was stupid. So I pulled up the confirmation email and confirmed that I placed the order over 2 weeks ago and that it likely may have been there for a few days, then showed her my order number and said "It was definitely ordered to this location." She told me to calm down as though I had raised my voice when I hadn't. So my sister said to her, "Ma'am, she is giving you the info you need so you can find her order. She hasn't raised her voice." Her snark increased when I confirmed - for probably the third time - that it was a calendar placed for pickup and she realized it was probably shipped there, since they don't make most of their products in house anymore. She hadn't asked me the right questions to get to that conclusion in the first place, but she definitely wasn't listening when I calmly explained what I had ordered to help her. She brought my box out of the closet, asked me if I paid for it - which, in the past you pay when you pick up so I told her "Your system should say if I have a balance due but I did enter my cc info when I purchased it." She started handing it to me, but then pulled it back like she planned to keep it or something. I can't believe I just had a tug of war moment with a Walgreens employee over a gift for my mom that I paid for well in advance because she got confused over her own system. She didn't scan the barcode or mark anything picked up. She shooed us away from the counter when she knew we had to check the calendar for quality - I perched on a nearby precarious tower of alcohol - and I can tell you right now she had already been snippy with a group of girls who came in behind us about what they needed for passport photos because I heard their conversation. Having worked in retail, I understand the holiday struggle. But the attitude from a customer service rep when I was problem solving after being told my custom item wasn't there was insane. You don't just tell people their item isn't in the system and then give up. People around me noted her behavior, and it was unnecessary. I was trying to make it easier for her to find something and she ended up truly making this trip such a bad experience that I may stop going to Walgreens altogether.

They get a bit rude with me sometimes when I forget to spell my name when picking up my prescriptions and make unhelpful comments along the lines of, "this would go faster if you would spell your name first next time". It just makes me cringe every time I here that. If I didn't have to do my 90 day prescriptions here I wouldn't but it's the insurance I have that makes me. On a positive note I've been helped tremendously but the pharmacists in getting my prescriptions replaced when they flying all of the place in my kitchen and I lost about 2 weeks worth of medicine. I was able to get that covered at a reduced cost because my insurance wouldn't cover it! The rest of CVS is just you average run of the mill general store with a limited selection of everyday items. This particular CVS is no different than most my only other complaint about this location is I wish they were open 24 hours. It's in a prime location to be open 24 hours so I'm not sure why they aren't but I'm sure the management and employees have no control of this and it doesn't impact my rating.
