This is just a store, they do not sell gas. They do sell all the basic foods you need if you have the munchies. They have snacks, chips, soda pop, coffee, pre-made subs, microwaveable sandwiches, smokes, bread, milk, and more. If you live close this is a great spot, as parking is usually never bad, even though the lot is sort of small, it seems to never be overly busy here. And it beats waiting in long lines and walking a mile across a huge retail chain store when you only need a few basic items. I am glad this store is here, and it has been for many years, serving the local neighborhood and others. Prices may be slightly higher, but worth it not having to drive across town, walk long ways, and wait in lines.

I found the items to be high quality which was appreciated. The staff was friendly and helped me pick out several things. They have your kitchen needs as well, but keep in mind it's not a full blown culinary store by any means. I like The Dollar General Store in Eastbrook Plaza, but the State Street location is in shambles. They have basically a lot of things that you would need, (when the items are stocked). Tends to be a lot of new faces when I walk in there each time, so it seems as if they are struggling from a horrible turnover rate. When the store is actually stocked, it's pretty organized, but here lately, they can't keep help nor anything on the shelves. One of the workers are usually eating or not readily available. The floors are always disgusting and in need of a complete restoration. There are little pieces of the tiling missing, so you know it's time for a repair. I don't understand how corporate has allowed this to go on for so long? I remember 2 weeks ago when the store closed early and I knew it wasn't a holiday, but I later found out they ended up closing early because they were short of help. I believe that instead of continuing bad service, it's best to close the store down, remodel, get a new crew, train, and then reopen. I believe it will be better maintained, and the customers will have a much better appreciation for the store!

Seems to me that there is just a bit of everything you might need located Inside. A large selection of causal and work clothes, several different types of shoes. The rest of the store has guns, pool, hunting, fishing, and farming equipment. I think if you have a dog up to a horse you might find something you need in the pet section and rural king. The next day while going through the contents of the bag I was given at the time of purchase I found the title. It shows the unit as a 2021, being three years old. I'm guessing this is why the cashier said "Hey some one finally bought it!" I thought this was due to the 8,999.99 price tag not including tax. I called the store and asked for the manager. She was nice but said she could not do anything but would have some one contact me. A couple of days later a guy called me already apprised of the situation. I explained to him my issue of paying for a new unit, not one three years old. I suggested a refund based on depreciation. These units depreciate 15 to 20% the first few years according to the market. Since I was the first purchaser I suggested one years depreciation which would be 1,400.00. He said "absolutely not". He told me I could clean it up to look new and return it for a refund. One, this doesnt address the issue I bought what I felt was a new unit, not three years old! And two, there was not another unit available. Since this unit replaced my 87 year old Dad's broken down unit, this wasn't much of a option. This would also explain why the engine isnt running smoothly. I was told "the units were very well maintained and that didnt make since". I feel like this has been very poorly handled by Rural King, and I am surprised they would handle it this way. I will never return to Rural King, not even for their free pop corn. Lee Pope
