On May 22, 2026 at approximately 7:45 PM, I had a very upsetting experience at the CVS pharmacy on…read moreLPGA Blvd. I am a Type 1 diabetic and was in urgent need of insulin syringes after a malfunction with my insulin pump. My blood sugar was rising into the 400s, and I explained clearly that this was a medical necessity and that I was from out of town without access to my usual supplies. I also explained that I am a veteran and receive my medications through the VA. The pharmacist on duty (tall white male with a beard) was dismissive from the start. He cut me off mid-sentence, showed no empathy, stated it was "his policy" (not CVS policy) not to sell syringes unless medications were filled at that location, and then walked away while I was still speaking. There was no attempt to explain alternatives, and no professionalism in how this situation was handled. What makes this especially concerning is the inconsistency. I immediately went to another CVS location (795 W Granada Blvd), where I was helped without any issue. The pharmacist there listened, treated me with respect, and provided the syringes I needed. That interaction likely prevented my situation from escalating further. This experience highlights a serious concern: access to essential diabetic supplies should not depend on which pharmacist a patient happens to encounter. When decisions are left entirely to individual discretion without consistency, it creates confusion and raises concerns about whether all patients are being treated fairly. I personally felt dismissed and prejudged during this interaction, which was especially difficult given the medical urgency of the situation. Refusing a sale may be within a pharmacist's discretion, but the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which I was treated is not acceptable--especially in a medical situation. I have included documentation from the other CVS location to show that this item can be provided. I have also submitted a formal complaint to CVS and intend to report this incident to the Florida Board of Pharmacy. I hope CVS management reviews this incident carefully. Patients should be treated with respect, empathy, and consistency, particularly when their health is at risk.

I told the Pharmacist of the problems, mostly customer service and incompetence, he replies, "This pharmacy is having more problems than you know." When I said, "Then close, before you kill someone!" I go down to Steve's, skeptical, thinking if Walgreens can't do it, why would this smaller pharmacy, but low and behold they accepted my insurance and my prescription was FREE. Not to mention the wait was only 20 minutes, too. Highly recommend. Nice staff & they'll easily transfer all of your prescriptions there and even have a delivery service!! Very reliable.

I called and the manager said that they used the card before so why is it a problem. Problem is we didn't ask for them to be filled also he just got his new debit card and was gonna put that on file to pay for the meds he needed. One of the meds they filled the doctor took him off. They told me that MOST of the patients know they do this. I asked when did he or I give them permission. She couldn't answer. She said she would talk to owner to get my money back. I was visiting Florida since my sister now lives there, had to take my niece, Koutney to one and she's loves fudge and this place had everything. Made a roadtrip out of it, only two hours, about the same amount of hours from Laredo to San Antonio, wasn't too bad. Of course, Florida is much smaller than Texas roads, we got there around 11am and ohhhhh boooooiii, that smell of brisket just had to stand there to take a moment of silent. Plus this was also a redemption on my banana pudding, because when I went to the Buccees in Tennesse, the TSA agent threw it away and I was hella sad, that was $5 down the drain and it was frozen, not liquid. (I placed it in the freezer before getting on the plane). That redemption bite of fresh banana pudding had me in tears okay! I just love their pudding and you can say all you want about Magnolia Bakery banana Pudding, I prefer the ones from Buccee's. Can't go wrong with any brisket sandwich from here, I ended up buying a couple of it since I never leave empty handed and even though my sister doesn't it, her husband will. Don't forget to grab some onions and pickles at the brisket station for your sandwich, it cuts the fattiness of the brisket or kimchi will do too. OMG I need to do that next time. Sound fire! I belived the nearest Buccee's for me is in Arizona and that recently opened up, can't go there just yet but I will. For me, I'm trying to collect all their Buccee's location teeshirt, its the cutest thing. Can't wait to come back here though, it was a fun roadtrip with my niece, and I'm glad she loved the different types of fudge. That banana pudding fudge is oughta be my favorite by far.
