Stopped by this cvs to get some floss and birthday card. The card section had good variety of cards for kids. For floss, got the cvs branded soft ones, they had BOGO offer. But after opening the pack, found out they are not so good quality. The store itself is mostly clean and tidy. The floor mats are little smeared and outdated. But they had lots of offers and deals on products all over the store. The photo section, self checkout booths all were in good condition. An associate was helping customers at the register. I had to create a yelp account to express my disgust with the pharmacist, I was 'helped' by today. I came in to pick up multiple prescriptions for three family members. At the pick up window, I was directed to the monitor to enter my information. Once I pulled up my name, two of my prescriptions came up. The pharmacist (a young Asian lady) quickly proceeded to payment. To my comment, that I'm picking up multiple prescriptions for myself and two kids, she said it's too late to go back. I have to pay for this and then go back to the monitor and enter their information. I asked if it's possible to make it one transaction instead of three, and she said no, because there was an option on the screen to add more people, and I've missed it. So I asked again if it's going to be a separate transaction for each person. And she shut me down like a kid, saying, right now we're dealing with you. It only got worse from there. I paid, and she slammed the bag of meds on the counter. Came around and started showing me how to use it. We pulled up my son's prescriptions, and I've noticed that the charge for one of them was unusually high. So I asked if they have his correct information, since we have a family plan. I asked if it was billed to insurance first. Every one of my questions, was answered in condescending manner, trying to rush me out. So, I asked to be helped by someone else. I explained, that this is not an acceptable way to speak to me. And she replied, it's coming from me. There was another pharmacist there, helping a client. I asked to wait for him to finish up. She gave him whatever information she had on me and told him 'good luck'. The other pharmacist, a young man, who's helped me before on multiple occasions, was checking if the medication I've inquired about has become billed through insurance already, and I gave him both medical and pharmacy insurance to verify if all of us had matching information, and address. Not for a second, did the lady pharmacist let him take care of my questions without cutting in. She made a few comments about me right there in my face without actually addressing me, like i wasn't there. The comments were literally what is called gaslighting. She saw that I didn't want like her condescending tone, and made sure she pushed my last nerve. Once that was seemingly resolved, and it was time to get my daughters prescriptions, the lady pharmacist popped out again and proceeded to cut me off at every sentence in an extremely rude manner, I was so desperately trying to avoid. When that torturous experience was finally over, and I left to drop my son off at the class, I realized, the insurance cards were still at the pharmacy. I went back, and the lady pharmacist saw me. Without saying anything to me, she disappeared for a second and I've heard her say, I told you she'll come back. She then reappeared and handed me the cards. I said thank you, and didn't get the 'you're welcome back'. I have worked and came across many people and situations in my 48 years, as well as worked in hospitality for over twenty years, this 'lady', and you understand, it's not the word I'd use to describe her, should not be in customer service, despite of her knowledge as a pharmacist. She is unprofessional, and should not work directly with customers. AND, when I got home and checked all the prescriptions, I've realized, the other pharmacist did not correct my kids information on file, and they have a different address than me. The shopping and pharmacy are always so easy to navigate at this CVS. It's clean and well stocked with what I usually run in to find.

I am very disappointed with my experience with the pharmacy. We were there to pickup a couple of medications and according the pharmacist on duty one of them was not covered by our insurance. She stated that it would be $45 dollars. When I began searching for online coupons she told me that I should just pay for it. She turned to a technician in the pharmacy and said "Really, $45 is not that much." I found it for a much cheaper price at another pharmacy and she scoffed at me. I feel that someone in her position should not be commenting on what is or is not a comfortable amount to pay for medication. I would have expected her to assist. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation. It turned out that the Walgreens pharmacist said it was covered and we ended up not paying anything. It makes me wonder about the customer care at CVS and I have now switched pharmacies. read more

Imagine your are on maintenance pain medication and your pharmacy informs you they will not order your medication until they receive a script from the doctor. The CVS, in Closter, managing pharmacist has decided to keep NO inventory in store on the pain med I take. FYI they order from there distributor, Cardinal Health, on Tuesday. if script comes in next day, Ish or Inish, the female mng pharmacists name, will Order to fill your script. that means the pain meds will be delivered in 8 days, on the following Tuesday. The law only permits a 20 day supply of my med.. I will be without an extremely high dosage of pain meds and go into withdrawal unless script is filled at another pharmacy. It has been about 60 days and Ish or Inish has not filled one pain script due to no inventor. CVS in Closter, and managing pharmacist in Closter, should be reprimanded for putting patients in a position where they go into withdrawal or potentially die for a needed script that the manager of phcy has decided not to stock in inventory and will not order in advance even though I have filled this script every 20 days for past 10 years at CVS in Closter. I have been filling this script at a local pharmacy who purchases from the same distributor as CVS. Odd that a 9000 store chain has less purchasing power than a one store family pharmacy. Resolution is transferring ALL of my meds (12 scripts) to Stop & Shop in Dumont. read more

CVS in Closter overcharged me on a RX antihistamine called Hydroxyzine. It was supposed to be one dollar but CVS Closter charged me $10. They tried to do the same thing with other RX medication and I kept showing the pharmacist my medical insurance card/s but he and the assistant kept on acting as if I had no insurance. read more

I had the same experience being overcharged at this pharmacy as the others posting here. I was told at the drop-off part of the counter my cost would be $12. By the time I picked it up at the register part of the counter, that prescription was $22. I questioned it and was told some nonsense about my insurance that made zero sense. Unacceptable. read more

My uncle and I went to the cvs store to buy some snacks and over the counter medicine (melatonin) for him, as he is a pilot. It was just us and one employee on the register. However, when we went to check out, the employee forced us to apply for the cvs store membership. We didn't want to get the membership due to the spam we could receive from applying, however the employee said we needed to apply for a membership and insert our information in order to buy the products. Wasted so much time and was forced to do something I didn't want to. Terrible experience at the store and I'm extremely disappointed that a big brand such as cvs would resort to things like this in order to gain memberships. read more

I guess i am a regular at cvs! They seem to be everywhere in this area! Same basics here...pharmacy, gift cards, and over the counters meds! They also have a photo lab and sell some basic food items like milk and eggs. They also sell the local newspaper but it sells out super quick! Make sure you get an extra care card which allows you to participate in sales but also gives you cash back coupons at times. read more

Ineptitude defined in the pharmacy. It's a crap shoot if they get my insurance applied correctly. Spent months paying $$ for my scrips only to discover from another CVS that they were charging me substantially too much incorrectly. Of course if you don't tell them they made a mistake within a couple of weeks they can't refund. Hundreds of & eaten. Furthermore when you try to transfer the scrip they eat up a refill. Now again a painful back and forth struggle to avoid being charged full price. I'm going out if my way to go to the Northvale store. They actually understand How a pharmacy works and therefore how not to lazily rip off their customers. read more
