Worst pharmacy ever, attendants are extremely rude, lines are always long, store is dirty and selection of products + availability are really poor...and the worst of all...made a photo order for pick up and so it was confirmed...after one HOUR I went to pick it up and they simply told me that the machine wasn't working...couldn't I be notified about it? So I could find another store quicker?...I had to literally run around time to go somewhere else to print it, they should just shut it down or change name to Family Dollar pharmacy! Whenever I need to go to a pharmacy or convenience store in Chelsea, I make it a point to go to the CVS on Broadway. Every time I come in the shelves are well stocked with items, and the store is organized. I love the fact that this store has bilingual employees, and that they are always willing to help you find something. The pharmacists are also really knowledgeable, and will help you find the right medication or remedy to make you feel better. The only downside to this particular store is that often it is difficult to find parking. There is only street parking available, and generally it is taken by people going to other shops on Broadway. Besides that minor inconvenience, I have never had a bad experience at this shop and have to say that it is my go-to. read more

My review is limited to the pharmacy section only. I work in retail and understand that sometimes people mess up, but on two separate occasions this pharmacy has failed to offer adequate customer service. Two years ago, I informed the pharmacist, a young man, that I would be leaving on my honeymoon and needed to refill my prescription before the usual time period. He informed me that I wouldn't be able to do that, but I could pick up my prescription at the CVS pharmacy in Puerto Rico which was supposedly located near my hotel. Guess what, I get to Puerto Rico and there was no CVS located near my hotel. I called the CVS in Chelsea and no one knows what I'm talking about. PS someone from the Chelsea pharmacy tells me over the phone when I am in Puerto Rico that they could have called my insurance company to get my prescription earlier. Thanks for nothing! Flash forward to today, my husband goes to pick up a prescription sent in by my doctor. They tell him there was nothing there for me. He assumed I picked it up. When I called the doctor to make sure the prescription was sent in , the pharmacy informed them that they tried calling us several times to confirm my insurance (lies! Never received a single phone call or message from them). When my doctor called them back within minutes I get a phone call that my prescription was ready. Suffice to say I will NOT be getting my prescriptions from here ever again! Walgreens here I come! read more

This CVS has all your regular staples. There isn't anything particularly impressive or disastrous going on at this CVS. In a sea of mom and pop restaurants, it's sort of funny to see CVS in the midst. (but I'm not complaining!) I would caution someone in getting their passport photo taken here. It just isn't done very well. I ended up having my photos retaken because they weren't acceptable. It would also be nice if there was at least one more person working the register. I always am standing in line and it seems like customers sort of line up willy-nilly. Beware of cutters. read more

I live within walking distance of this CVS, so I am here often. Weather it is to get Milk, a pack of smokes, shampoo, or pick up a prescription. I'm here. This CVS is an odd duck because it's the only chain drugstore in Chelsea center (there's others near Parkside Commons). So it's VERY busy. The Store - Typical CVS. Sometimes dirty, but that's due to the volume of people. Lots of Latino-focus products too (Cards in Spanish, Goya products, etc) Stock - Stock's OK, never a real issue, except going to CVS an hour before their sale ends Saturday night and them not having it. OR them having a run of gallons of milk before a weekend. Employees - Never a problem with the employees, actually I've had pleasant interactions with all of them. And they seem to all know me by face, since I am there so often. Pharmacy - When I did use the pharmacy, it was VERY slow to get scripts filled. I can go to Rite Aid up the street and have one filled in 15 minutes. This CVS.. over an hour. No fault of the staff at all. I asked the Pharmacy manager why it took so long. She says that when Rite Aid closed in the Mystic Mall, CVS bought all their customers and now they have twice as many people to service at this CVS (and not enough staff). So not entirely their fault, its more upper management's fault. Pricing - Same as every other CVS around. Pricey if it isn't on sale. Overall I'm going to give this CVS 4 stars. I'm overly happy with this CVS, and since it's a 4 minute walk from my front door, I know I'll be back soon. read more

This is your standard CVS with a few exceptions. 1) You'll find more items encased in glass than at a bakery. At first I wondered if all that glass was necessary and was slightly irritated. Well today, that question was answered; a boy was attempting to steal hair elastics being sold for $1.99. I alerted an employee. After being stared down by 4 or so employees, he quickly went to the counter and paid for them. (There are days when I wish the U.S. would adopt Hammurabi's code and Thailand's caning practice.) 2) Their Goya section is only dwarfed by the neighborhood Market Basket. 3) Their extensive Hallmark card section. They sell Hallmark's Mahogany and Latino line. The first is for those who prefer brown faces on their cards. The second is for those who want their sentiments expressed in Spanish. 4) The intermittent presence of security guards who look like they grew up in the suburbs. Who are these people supposed to deter? Klepto Clara and Buck-eyed Joe would spit at these guys. Other than this, it's brand new, clean, organized, well-lit, and centrally located. It's more expensive than Walgreen's and cheaper than Rite Aid, but offers a more pleasurable shopping experience than both. This is partly attributible to their eye-level shelving, soft flooring, and easy-on-the-eyes lighting. If you've ever shopped another CVS, know the look and feel is the same. Unless you want to see it and say it in Spanish with a Hallmark card, you're not missing much. read more

With the cost of living on the rise and salary and pay ever-decreasing, CVS' Extrabucks program certainly levels the playing field and I can't wait to go shopping again!:::: I have a CVS ExtraCare Card and it makes the shopping experience at this CVS immeasuably pleasurable! You can earn Extra Bucks, redeemable in store. You get emails and flyers by mail of up to 25% off in-store or online (I live in Chelsea so it's just easier for me to scoot there). They carry name brand items, they are always restocking, the store is always impeccably clean. I love my shopping experience here! It is less expensive than Walgreen's, great location. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful - on several occasions the staff has stopped what they were in the middle of doing to help me meet my needs. The last time I went to the pharmacy there to pick up my brother's prescription, they saw the astronomical prices he was paying for his asthma medication and gave me some freebies (sample size hand lotion, etc.) - I mean, who does THAT???? I highly recommend this CVS in particular and I am a loyal customer for the reasons above stated. All in all, a great experience! read more

I went in on a Saturday morning. Big mistake. But I just had surgery, and needed to refill my pain meds asap. I get to the pharmacy, and there's only one guy in line. I think, phew, this will be a breeze. I noticed it started taking a while. He couldn't speak English, and needed a translator. Two ladies were helping him for a while. Finally the pharmacist got involved. Now all 3 ladies were helping this man, and all he needed was to sign up for a CVS card. He couldn't remember his phone number, and kept asking for a prescription delivery. After a while, the main pharmacist left to get some sort of form for him. When she came back, one of the other ladies finally called "next" and I moved forward. She asked my name, dob, said she had one prescription for me, and then proceeded to ignore me and go back to the guy trying to sign up for a CVS card, because the other girl at the register clearly had no clue what she was doing. When she returned, she said, "oh no, our computer froze again." She went to the other open register, and it was off, and she said neither were working. The only register available was being used to sign this one guy up for a CVS card. The whole process took at least half an hour. He wasn't even picking up a prescription. I couldn't believe it. I know the people behind me were pissed as well. How are 2 of your 3 registers down, and why the heck are you using your only pharmacy pick-up register for half an hour on someone who isn't even picking up a prescription? They should have sent him to any other register in the store to sign up. Really awful customer service today. Very disappointing and unpleasant. read more

No place to park, and if you do, your car may not be there when you get out. Pharmacy staff good, except that they keep putting the goddamn child safety cap on, even though their computer says easy cap on my account. Store itself has poor selection, kind of halfass, don't expect to find most circular items here. The last, but not least are the druggies and dealers near or IN THE STORE, even at the DRUG COUNTER. HOLD ONTO YOUR RX'S AND YOUR WALLET. Again please, READ YOUR BLOODY COMPUTER ABOUT THE SAFETY CAP!!!!!! I PRACTICALLY HAVE TO STEP ON THE BOTTLE TO GET THE MEDICINE OUT. read more

I like this CVS for picking up snacks and for being an outlet when I need to walk out of my office for a bit. Seriously, I work in Chelsea...not much to do in this wonderful city...I attempted picking up medicine here for my brother who is sick with the flu. Of course, he doesn't know his insurance number. hes young and not brilliant like me. so, the young woman assisting me tells me she cant help me. her young male coworker keeps saying "not if you call, not if you call." so, i ask what hes talking about...wow, turns out if she calls the insurance company she can get the insurance number! I can see the contempt in her eyes, this lil chicky is not happy about being at work or dealing with people. who needs customer service! of course, my brother gives me the wrong insurance company. when i tell the young guy calling he says "oh sorry, that company wont give us the info..." RIGHT. I really believe that. Finally get the insurance number myself. and guess what? these competent young people tell me they dont have the Flu medicine I need...bc....you know, its not like a pharmacy should stock up on Flu meds in the winter, right?! I practically have to beg for information about another cvs that might just have the meds...this place offers the kind of customer service I hope that I receive in hell some day. read more

I can not believe this place. I came home from this cvs and count my medications on mytable. I relize I only received 30 pills in stead of 35. I call the store and talk to Dr. and advised her she made a mistake and since it was a controled substance, she counted twice. I looked at the 30 pills on my table and told her she made a mistake. She talked to me like I was junkie. The medication is Soboxone, so 5 pills would be 2 days without. I am a recovering addict and doing extremely well for the first time in years. Now I have no idea WHAT im gonna do at the end of the month. The Dr. gave me no respect and no outlet to help me. I am really mad and nervous. I will not stop just with this comment!! read more
