However, his pediatrician did an override and we've been getting his Allegra through Medicaid for a while. I just called the pharmacy and I was told that the medicine is not covered. I explained that it was always covered so why now it's not? She didn't have an answer. I told her that I would research it and thanked her. Before I could even start to look into the situation, she called back. The explanation was that Medicaid did some changes and kicked the override out of the system but all was good now. This is a prime example as to why I do not use Walgreens or CVS anymore because customer service is poor and lazy. I literally had a Walgreen's pharmacy employee roll her eyes at me while I was holding a sick baby. CVS apparently can't push numbers into a system and you are a bother to them. So, I turned to locally owned smaller pharmacies where I get exceptional customer service and the staff will go above and beyond for you. So, KUDOS to Ackels Pharmacy in Youngsville, Louisiana.

This pharmacy told me that they would not fill a controlled substance for me unless I transferred ALL OF MY MEDICATIONS TO THEM. How's that for good cajun courtesy? Especially in the middle of a pandemic. She also tried to tell me that it was a law that all your medications had to be filled at the same pharmacy. Say what? I fill medications at 2 different pharmacies depending on where I'm running errands. Following this premise, if I used a local pharmacy, like I do, Acadiana Prescription Shop, and I'm out of town and have to refill a medication, what am I supposed to do? Anyway, you would think that with this whole stay at home order and doctors offices closed, and trucks not coming in with new supplies, that they would of been a little more understanding.
