Each time we call, the service is excellent, ideas for overcoming issues are reasonable and helpful, and our prescriptions are filled quickly. The pharmacist and assistants are always positive and caring. It is always reassuring to talk to people, and not have to wait for long periods of time only to discover that the virtual assistants are not in service, and the computer service that is recommended is not working. I had to pick up my husbands meds and went in with a mask. They DO NOT require masks at all and about 75-90% of the people in the store did not wear one. I walked by 2 men stocking shelves and both had masks under their chin (not covering mouth or nose). I stood in a line at the pharmacy in back of a woman who was sick and coughing with no mask and her hand full of cold med, no one asked her to put one on and she coughed without bothering to cover her mouth as her arms were full. It was the grossest experience walking up and having to sign the same thing she also touched with no sanitizer or wipes anywhere. There was a sign on the door asking people not to bring in reusable bags so you only get to use the plastic ones they give you. But that's it. The important precautions that work (mask and social distancing) are NOT in place nor are they enforced. I have a husband who has emphysema and one kidney. The risk just from me picking up meds was unreal. I am definitely using another pharmacy and grocery store that takes precautions seriously and knows how masks protect others and not the person wearing them because this was so dangerous. I wanted to shop for food but after the pharmacy, I just left. If you care for anyone you love, don't bother going here. This is the closest store to me and the nearest other one is a good 45 min drive. I'm unhappy but if I have to travel that far, I am going to. This was unreal.

I am one of those who rarely have cash on me. The coffee they make is outstanding! Unfortunately in the morning when I count any cash I have laying around, and am usually a few cents short. So I go to Cumberland Farms, just down the street. They take debit without drama, even if all their coffee, no matter what flavor they label it as, always tastes the same. Try using a debit card at Oak Hill Cash Market, the owner acts like you are a complete asshole. Plus they are out of cream 80% of the time I go there. I have to ask, then stand around and wait for them to "get to it". But regardless, the way they make their coffee is incredible and is even better (and much cheaper) than Dunkin Donuts. The breakfast sandwiches are another highlight...always plenty just freshly cooked, so there is no waiting. The pizza they make could not taste much worse, however....a limp, soggy crust and just not good by any stretch of the imagination. It's almost like you have to try to make a Pizza this bad. Because it is a convenience store, the groceries appear to be from a museum and way too expensive to consider, even in a pinch. That being said, I do not go out of my way to do business here, but would get my daily cup of coffee here every single day if using a debit card did not cause the owner to act like you are putting him out of business by doing so. But they do some things extremely well, and I can't go less than 4 stars, as it is locally owned and operated and it's nice to see these places succeed. They do have my 4 star rating, and I recommend this place on the strength of their Coffee and Breakfast sandwiches. You won't get that quality at a chain store.

The general guideline is you can eat most canned foods from 1 to 5 years after the expiration date if stored in a cool, dark place and the cans are in good condition. However, don't let the year on the calendar make the decision for you. Follow these four basic rules before you devour that can of ravioli, soup, or vegetables that expired several years ago. 1. Inspect the can. If the can is damaged, rusted, or dented at the top or bottom lid it increases the risk of the food being contaminated. If the can is bulging or leaking fluid, throw it away immediately. With food items like olives, pickles, relishes or preserved fruit, observe the quality of the oil, syrup or brine. There may be a problem if the liquid appears muddy or opaque or if the liquid level has dropped significantly. 2. Open the can. If everything is so far, so good, go ahead and open the canned food. If while opening, it makes a hissing sound and/or liquid spurts out of the can, discard it. On visual inspection, the first thing to note is the color of the food. Minor color change over time is normal, but a big alteration in color or a lack of color signals a problem. If you see any mold, throw the contents in the trash. 3. Smell the food. If the above steps go well, give the food a good sniff. There is no better judge as to whether food is rotten than the sniffer test! It should smell fresh without an unusual or unpleasant odor of any kind. 4. Taste it. Lastly, you can give the food a taste. Keep in mind that long-term storage can affect the flavor of some foods, particularly if it was sweetened. With the money you save by not tossing out canned goods when they reach their expiration date, you can hopefully be better able to afford the rising gas and heating oil prices!
