Although that may seem like a simple task, if you've ever tried to DIY a solid network with consumer-grade devices, you have probably discovered the limitations and challenges. With security cameras, smart TV's, smart locking doors, smart light switches, smart landscaping lights and other devices reliant on good internet speeds / bandwidth, I was committed never seeing an "offline" or "connection error" message. I went on a mission to find a vendor who wasn't going to break the bank and gave all the local companies a chance. My meeting with A/V Tech Specialists was very different from all the other options that serve the area, and here's why: It became clear that Nate is honest, kind, caring, thoughtful and knowledgeable - a combination I didn't even think was possible. His pricing was very fair. Once I realized he was proficient in other areas as well, (providing and installing TV's, security systems for instance) I ended up using him for much more than simply providing a top-grade mesh network. That was over a year ago. And looking back, here's where the real value of this company came in for me. Advice: They not only consulted and installed a solid, forward-compatible network; they shared insight on which equipment they recommend installing to prevent me from having to upgrade for many many years. Support: As you might imagine, there were many questions along the way. Nate and his team were alway there to answer them. Accountability: Here's a big one. When it comes to tech, you'd be foolish to think every A/V company knows everything about all the various products. Tech is always evolving, so even if an A/V company has had past experience with a company's smart devices, things change...along with compatibility. if there was something that they arguably should have known but didn't, they owned up to it. That's not to say they were inexperienced in the areas in question. Some of the products I integrated were off the beaten path, so it stands to reason they wouldn't have had experience. Price: Considering their competition, they are very reasonable. Attention to detail: the installation of all the gear was professional, thorough, clean, properly centered / measured and there was no garbage left behind. If you have A/V needs, try them. I'm confident you will have a similar experience.

WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more I am an almost ten‑year customer of ADT, with service at two business locations and my home. We recently vacated one of our businesses and needed to relocate our CCTV cameras from that location to our second business, where we already have ADT service but no cameras. This should have been a simple request. For context: We purchased this camera system from ADT last year, spending over $3,000 on the upgrade. The cameras are still under contract, as the cost was absorbed into our monthly bill. As of today, ADT tells me the remaining balance owed is $2,014.83. On December 22, 2025, a representative named Eric Hardesty from the South Bend office visited my new location to review the camera relocation. The visit went well. I was told everything was approved and that he would submit a service ticket to have the cameras relocated. Then nothing happened. An entire month passed with no communication from Eric or ADT. No scheduling. No follow‑up. When I began calling ADT for a status update, I discovered that no notes had been entered on my account. That's when the real frustration began. During my first call, I was transferred to at least ten different people over the course of an hour. Every time I was transferred, I had to re‑verify my account and re‑explain the entire situation. This is a simple camera relocation request, yet I received no resolution. I eventually hung up out of sheer exhaustion. I tried again the next day. Same result. Another hour wasted. Still no help. I then obtained Eric Hardesty's direct cell number (574‑532‑3211). I called, left a voicemail, and sent a text message. He read the text and chose not to respond. I tried again on Friday, then again Monday morning (January 26). Still no response. This morning, I finally reached an account manager named Andre. He was polite and listened. I told him I was prepared to cancel all ADT services at all three locations. He offered two months of account credits if I allowed him to help resolve the issue. He assured me this was a "very simple process" and that I would not be transferred again. I agreed. He placed me on hold. Five minutes later, someone else picked up the line: "Hello, thank you for calling ADT. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with today?" Unbelievable. Andre was gone. No explanation. No callback. No handoff. At this point, I had already been on the phone over 40 minutes again, starting from scratch. I refused to repeat myself and asked to cancel my services. After being transferred yet again, I was informed that I cannot cancel without paying an early termination fee of $2,014.83 because the cameras are still under contract. Let me be clear: ADT is demanding over $2,000 because they failed to relocate the cameras, failed to document anything, failed to communicate, and wasted nearly three hours of my time. No notes. No callbacks. No accountability. This is how ADT treats an almost ten‑year, loyal, on‑time paying customer. Never again, ADT. Never again. If you are considering home or business security, do not use ADT. There are many other options available. Use a local company. Support smaller businesses that value their customers. Just look at the one‑star reviews. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration.

I switched from a local company that was struggling to provide service after almost 6 years to Advanced Security. The intent was to self- monitor for a month or two and then switch to a monitoring service. In addition, I took it as an opportunity to replacing a panel that stopped working. Since I made the switch to Advanced Security, I decided to replace it through them, and that is where the problems began. They sent me a completely defective panel both in esthetics and function. I was eager to replace the panel and quickly realized that the electrical panel was not flush with the case, and emitted white light in the bottom corner. Even with the defect in the electrical circuit board panel, I was willing to keep it if it worked. I was able to connect to the Wi-Fi, however, the software updates would not download; rendering it inoperable. Keep in mind, any smart home owner is highly motivated to replace any security product that stops working. When I brought this to the attention of the company manager, he quickly became unhinged, and very insulting. He basically called me a liar, which left me dumbfounded. I have never been treated with such distain for attempting to return a clearly defective product. They tried to make me take a loss on the purchase and I fought them, which resulted in their cancel culture. This company represents the worst qualities in America- cancel culture. They have very toxic managers and they were quick to turn on me, making me feel unwelcome and didn't deal with any technical support issues or otherwise after being cancelled. They used the fact that I was a customer to attempt to intimidate me into taking a loss on the purchase. Bottom line, I could not recommend this company in good conscience.
