History

Established in 1995.

In 1995, Cutting Edge Sharpening Services, LLC was started to meet the sharpening needs of Santa Fe, New Mexico and the surrounding areas. In the beginning, we just sharpened knives, scissors and garden tools. In 2004, we purchased equipment that allowed us to sharpen clipper blades, and high end beauty and barber shears,which added Pet Groomers, Veterinarians, Beauty Salons, and Barber Shops. In 2005, we purchased C-Saw Sharpening, also in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and expanded our line of offerings to include sharpening saw blades, planer, blades, and chainsaws. In 2010 we began selling and leasing knives, scissors, to the restaurant industries. Then in 2011, we began to offer our customers the ability to purchase new cutting boards from us, and the resurfacing of their current cutting boards. Also, in 2011, we started repairing clippers and supplying clipper blade parts to our customers. In 2015, we began to offer corrugation services for scissors and beauty shears.

Meet the Business Owner: Michael M.

I am Mike Molinari, the owner of Cutting Edge Sharpening Services, LLC. In 1995, I started Cutting Edge Sharpening Services, LLC, for several reasons. First, I needed a second income. My primary job at the time was an 6th grade elementary teacher and my whopping salary was $16,665 annually. Since I love to teach, there was no way that I could live on such a meager salary. Second, I started it as a home based business to take advantage of tax write-offs. Third, my wife and I started a family and needed additional funds. Fourth, I needed a job in which I could set my own hours. Since sharpening comes naturally to me and with the assistance of more advancements in machine technology and hand sharpening techniques, all of this put together made sense that I could make a go of it. 22 years later, I'm still doing it!
