If you're planning to go, make sure to buy your tickets online ahead of time. We booked our tickets about four days in advance. The time slots between 8-10pm on a Saturday were completely sold out. Parking was $15 per car. I recommend carpooling if you're going in a big group. Once you park, you will have to check in online or via text. There will be a notification of when to head to the haunted house, which was roughly three minutes for us. You will have to sign a waiver before proceeding. Once you stand in line, it's an additional 30 minutes to reach the entrance. (FYI: The last person in the group gets to wear a glow in the dark stick.) Watch out for the chainsaw man; he's out and about. The DJ will be playing music the entire time to entertain while everyone waits. If you're lucky, you may see the skeleton drummers marching around. Throughout the whole experience, the music was very loud and upbeat, giving this fast paced vibe. Honestly, it might be creepier to play eerie, slow music. The best scenario would be to keep it completely silent, which is nearly impossible with how popular and crowded this place is. There are parts with nothing much going on. The group in front of us was walking pretty slow, so we kept on bumping into them. Nevertheless, we could hear them scream and shriek ahead of us. My advice is to try to isolate from the group before you as much as possible to minimize spoiling surprises or upcoming scares. At the end, there is the option to either go through the foam or bypass it. I recommend holding hands with people in your group if opting for the ruthless foam. As you advance, it gets difficult to breathe, comparable to the sensation of drowning for 10 seconds. You will get soaked on this last part! Overall, it was a fun group activity. I wasn't as scared as anticipated. It is a little on the pricey side for the experience.

This was the most high-energy haunted house I've ever been to! We didn't wait very long at all, but while we were in line a DRUMLINE came out and played! Inside, things moved pretty steadily. There were more drummer bands at checkpoints to try and space us out (which didn't work very well, but not too disappointing). I enjoyed the various hallways of spooks! Most of the actors looked amazing and some even startled me (I'm really difficult to scare). The foam tunnel was quite the unique experience too! There was also the option to not go through it. Total walkthrough was 26 minutes. Criticisms: Could've had more lighting on the scenes/objects. One actor was just sitting there -- she had a manager-type microphone attached to her shirt and wore a lazy/cheap skeleton mask, and didn't even try to do anything as we passed. They definitely should've spaced us out more -- we had the time and patience since we didn't wait in line very long at all. The actors maybe could've also jumped out more, but I think that had to do with having so many people going through their areas as once, nonstop. Parking was $20, the only haunt I've been to that charged for parking. Concessions were semi expensive -- the shirt for $20/25is normal, but 20 for relatively cheap earrings? They could definitely expand the kinds of stuff they have for sale, too.

I hadn't been to this place in a very long time. I think my daughter may have been a preteen & she is 26 now, so that will give you an idea. The prices certainly were not 50.00 per person & they didn't have iPads for you to sign you legal rights away on before entering the place that's for sure. We went Halloween night in the slotted time of 730-800pm. The line went very fast to get us in. My boyfriend & I brought his 14 yr old daughter since she was in town just to try something fun. I don't think she was impressed though. I remember it being way more scarier & now it's very predictable. This best part to me was about 1/2 way through you got to stop & take a break to listen to some guys that were totally jamming on these glowing drums. It was wild. Don't take pics in there! Someone came & hit me in the face with a balloon! Then as I was walking out of that corridor she tapped my nose twice! I tapped hers back! The other fun part is the bubble room. You can bypass it if you would like, but I wouldn't. You are totally immersed in bubbles to the point you have to close your eyes & your mouth. You have to feel your way out! When you do get out you're soaked like a sponge of dawn fixing to do the dirty dishes! I haven't laughed that hard while having a semi-anxiety attack at the same time! Summary not scary... pricey.. Don't ever touch your customers especially over a picture! Omgoodness! Don't bypass the bubble room.

This is the end, for the bubbles were very hard to get through and you could barely see. It was very fun and got soaked.

This was a very good haunted house. I loved it. It was very scary and the actors were doing amazing. Also when you go through the tiny space were it has clothes hanging it was like I was gonna suffocate. The live rock band was outstanding in all lines, waiting in the haunted house for too bad with the clowns. They are chainsaws chasing you really cool and things just hissing and popping out at you at the end. I don't recommend the bubbles get soaked, and you have to cover your eyes mouth and nose because you're going to get them in your eyes and you almost can't breathe, but I was all fine I do recommend this to ages 13 and up.

Ask the Community - Cutting Edge Haunted House

How much is it to get in?

    $48

Are there different levels? And do you go up stairs?

    U go downstairs

What are the different themes of the haunt?

It's only a haunted house takes about 45 mins to get thru (i went on Valentine's Day)

I heard that there is a 3,000 square foot maze that you get to go through with a chem stick. Is that the whole haunt, or it's own thing?

In the past yes! It was part of the haunted house, and it had a Saw theme. Unfortunately, I went on Saturday and they got rid of the maze and replaced it with a clown portion. So the answer is no, they do not have a maze anymore!

Nice and respectful people to be running a haunted house. The type who make sure the chainsaw won't actually touch you but are really good at making you think it might. I don't think that a single actor failed to make me scream or jump or both simultaneously. Moving from room to room was smooth with help of the actors. Price was fair. $25 for like 15-25 min depending on how fast you run! The props, makeup, costumes, mechanics, and all technicals that went into this house were mind blowingly good. I couldn't believe they had so many different things that could scare me. The ONLY things I'd hope to see them improve on is lighting and their use of space. There were moments I felt like I couldn't take a step bc I didn't know what was in front of me, due to fog and bright lights pointed at my eye line. As well some of the passages were hard to get through as far as the width of the hallways. I understand bright lights and small spaces are scary and I see the idea. I just think if the fog and direction on the lights were regulated a little differently, things would have been slightly easier to navigate. In addition, the crawl space you have to crawl through I feel could be a deal breaker for some customers, as well as the narrow hallways. Obviously, these are only suggestions and I truly hope to see this haunted house succeed, I have lots of faith!

There's 2 points where you'll be crawling, we went to hangman's right before this and that is WAYYY more worth the money! This was an absolute waste of $25 dollars. At no point was anyone in my group scared at all, it was more irritating because the entire place is filled with smoke in which makes your eyes burn like no other. I absolutely do not recommend.

Well.. if you…read moreare looking for a GOOD haunted house, worth the 45+ mile drive, for the love of God do NOT waste your time on the Texas Scaregrounds. Overall it was so crappy that I want to call the management and demand not only my ticket money back, but the five bucks we paid to park PLUS the gas money to drive way the hell out to Kennedale, TX. Who knows where that is, anyhow? First, like I said, it was a LONG drive out there. Google maps sucks, but that's another story. We drove out there, approached the haunted house and were a little surprised to see it was a bunch of warehouses. I mean, I've been to GOOD haunted houses that were warehouses... but based on the reviews, we expected a little more. So...We pulled in and were told it was five dollars to park. Okay. So we paid that, like the good little sheep that we are. Parked, waited in line for a good long while and bought our 25 dollar tickets (28 without the 3 dollar coupon you can print from their website). First we went to the Chaos haunted house. It was the best one at the Texas Scaregrounds by far. I, personally, am pretty wimpy, and easily startled, and it was okay. We enjoyed it well enough. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there. We went to the Asylum next, and it was not as interesting or as startling. It was fairly dull. Then... we went on the haunted hayride. Okay, so the employees TOLD us that it was the most 'family friendly' attraction. But...really, what they meant that it was quite possibly the most pathetic thing I have ever experienced at a "haunted" attraction ever. We stood in line to RIDE the stupid hayride probably three times as long as we were actually ON it. I don't even know how to describe it other than incredibly boring, pathetic and a huge, huge waste of time. It was like a bad joke. Worse than a bad joke. Seriously. Painfully bad. Three people in masks following a trailer being pulled by a suburban does not really make a haunted hayride, sorry. After that pathetic experience, we figured we might as well try and squeeze out a little more for our wasted money and went to the "nightmares" haunted house. The only nightmare was the stupid line. It was really boring, and rather short. I can't even be bothered to write much about it. All I can REALLY say is we will NEVER waste our time going to Texas Scaregrounds again. I rather go to Screams and I am really not even impressed by Screams. Next year, hopefully we can find something to erase our sad memories of the WORST HAUNTED ATTRACTION EVER!

With the new season pass and I got the all park passport one, you get a free flash pass per one ride and one Halloween band which you can access all of the Haunted Houses. I ended up doing 4 out of 8 houses. My advice is to do them early as the lines are short and did not wait for no longer than 15 minutes or wait till park closes. The haunted houses are alright. I am not into being scared, but decided to try them out as the lines were not long and I was curious to see if $50 dollars was even worth it. I would say it is not. I would say Cedar Fair parks do a better job at this, but when going through this there was a little scare here and there, but sort of glad it was not. I just wanted to see the thing. The park does get extremely crowded especially during Fright Fest so be prepared to wait in line. The good news is most of the rides are opened even the water rides. I rode the log ride late at night as the lines are very short like 15 minutes at most as some of the rides can be 1-2 hours. The food lines can be ridiculous too. I finally tried out the mobile online ordering for the first time and it was a disaster. I waited an hour to get my food and I saw others that waited in line and order get their food way faster. I did also the kiosk to order, but somehow it takes quite a bit 30 minutes and figuring out how to use your dining plan can be tricky and not obvious as it took me awhile to figure it out. I tried this out at Johnny Rocket's and JB BBQ and had the same experience. I did see their haunted show and it was alright, just a bunch of singing and dancing, but it was good place to relax. I had a good time overall and I did stay from opening to closing and time flew by quickly so I had no issues. I wanted to take a picture of the Looney Tunes characters, but I could not find them in their usual spot.

This year they are running as a pop up style haunt in the skate park area of the lone star park area in Grand Prairie. It was a much better haunt in its previous location but they seem to be operating with what they have to work with; which I totally respect. I'm hoping they find a more permanent spot next year but it was fine this year knowing it's more of a pop up situation. Why I almost went down to 3 stars: I want to give them 5 stars based on past years experiences: I recommend coming and paying in person with cash in order to get in for $35. With card online fees bump the ticket up too $43-$44 ... at the gate paying card it bumps up to $37-38. The lady at the gate said l: "It's Because they have to charge tax on card" which I was told by the lady at the ticket gate. I know some smaller haunts keep their prices the same but add a $1-2 credit card transaction fee for card, but they say it's the credit card fee for them to be able to accept card ... not a dodge the tax preference. I appreciate the transparency but it also was a wait a minute moment. As well I appreciate them taking card now which in the past they didn't, but the terms they used and the fact the fees seem to double that of other haunts leaves a bad taste. Other haunts don't seem to have quite as many random fees online or as they do. Another major haunt in the area has a $4-5 service fee for online, but they put out a coupon code that helps off set that. I wonder what services they are using online to make there be $5.68 across 3 different fees online; plus tax. Again, I really liked this haunt in the past and appreciate them trying to keep going & ability to use card ... the fees are what get me when comparing to other haunts in the area ... I guess I'd prefer them to go back to cash only to avoid fees.
