Well.. if you…read moreare looking for a GOOD haunted house, worth the 45+ mile drive, for the love of God do NOT waste your time on the Texas Scaregrounds. Overall it was so crappy that I want to call the management and demand not only my ticket money back, but the five bucks we paid to park PLUS the gas money to drive way the hell out to Kennedale, TX. Who knows where that is, anyhow? First, like I said, it was a LONG drive out there. Google maps sucks, but that's another story. We drove out there, approached the haunted house and were a little surprised to see it was a bunch of warehouses. I mean, I've been to GOOD haunted houses that were warehouses... but based on the reviews, we expected a little more. So...We pulled in and were told it was five dollars to park. Okay. So we paid that, like the good little sheep that we are. Parked, waited in line for a good long while and bought our 25 dollar tickets (28 without the 3 dollar coupon you can print from their website). First we went to the Chaos haunted house. It was the best one at the Texas Scaregrounds by far. I, personally, am pretty wimpy, and easily startled, and it was okay. We enjoyed it well enough. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there. We went to the Asylum next, and it was not as interesting or as startling. It was fairly dull. Then... we went on the haunted hayride. Okay, so the employees TOLD us that it was the most 'family friendly' attraction. But...really, what they meant that it was quite possibly the most pathetic thing I have ever experienced at a "haunted" attraction ever. We stood in line to RIDE the stupid hayride probably three times as long as we were actually ON it. I don't even know how to describe it other than incredibly boring, pathetic and a huge, huge waste of time. It was like a bad joke. Worse than a bad joke. Seriously. Painfully bad. Three people in masks following a trailer being pulled by a suburban does not really make a haunted hayride, sorry. After that pathetic experience, we figured we might as well try and squeeze out a little more for our wasted money and went to the "nightmares" haunted house. The only nightmare was the stupid line. It was really boring, and rather short. I can't even be bothered to write much about it. All I can REALLY say is we will NEVER waste our time going to Texas Scaregrounds again. I rather go to Screams and I am really not even impressed by Screams. Next year, hopefully we can find something to erase our sad memories of the WORST HAUNTED ATTRACTION EVER!

I have been to many haunts opening weekends and most are unorganized, poorly staffed, and just plain a waste of time. Chaos on the other hand was spot on!! The actors were well versed and on their marks. They had plenty of actors and more than enough scares to go around. It was only $18 to get in with the coupon from their website and parking is free this year!

I been to fright fest for three times this year as I took a break from gaming for 5 weeks and need…read moresomething to fill in the time. With the new season pass and I got the all park passport one, you get a free flash pass per one ride and one Halloween band which you can access all of the Haunted Houses. I ended up doing 4 out of 8 houses. My advice is to do them early as the lines are short and did not wait for no longer than 15 minutes or wait till park closes. The haunted houses are alright. I am not into being scared, but decided to try them out as the lines were not long and I was curious to see if $50 dollars was even worth it. I would say it is not. I would say Cedar Fair parks do a better job at this, but when going through this there was a little scare here and there, but sort of glad it was not. I just wanted to see the thing. The park does get extremely crowded especially during Fright Fest so be prepared to wait in line. The good news is most of the rides are opened even the water rides. I rode the log ride late at night as the lines are very short like 15 minutes at most as some of the rides can be 1-2 hours. The food lines can be ridiculous too. I finally tried out the mobile online ordering for the first time and it was a disaster. I waited an hour to get my food and I saw others that waited in line and order get their food way faster. I did also the kiosk to order, but somehow it takes quite a bit 30 minutes and figuring out how to use your dining plan can be tricky and not obvious as it took me awhile to figure it out. I tried this out at Johnny Rocket's and JB BBQ and had the same experience. I did see their haunted show and it was alright, just a bunch of singing and dancing, but it was good place to relax. I had a good time overall and I did stay from opening to closing and time flew by quickly so I had no issues. I wanted to take a picture of the Looney Tunes characters, but I could not find them in their usual spot.

This year they are running as a pop up style haunt in the skate park area of the lone star park area in Grand Prairie. It was a much better haunt in its previous location but they seem to be operating with what they have to work with; which I totally respect. I'm hoping they find a more permanent spot next year but it was fine this year knowing it's more of a pop up situation. Why I almost went down to 3 stars: I want to give them 5 stars based on past years experiences: I recommend coming and paying in person with cash in order to get in for $35. With card online fees bump the ticket up too $43-$44 ... at the gate paying card it bumps up to $37-38. The lady at the gate said l: "It's Because they have to charge tax on card" which I was told by the lady at the ticket gate. I know some smaller haunts keep their prices the same but add a $1-2 credit card transaction fee for card, but they say it's the credit card fee for them to be able to accept card ... not a dodge the tax preference. I appreciate the transparency but it also was a wait a minute moment. As well I appreciate them taking card now which in the past they didn't, but the terms they used and the fact the fees seem to double that of other haunts leaves a bad taste. Other haunts don't seem to have quite as many random fees online or as they do. Another major haunt in the area has a $4-5 service fee for online, but they put out a coupon code that helps off set that. I wonder what services they are using online to make there be $5.68 across 3 different fees online; plus tax. Again, I really liked this haunt in the past and appreciate them trying to keep going & ability to use card ... the fees are what get me when comparing to other haunts in the area ... I guess I'd prefer them to go back to cash only to avoid fees.
