A good haircut is like a good meal. You should never leave with a bad taste or do. I'm so happy to have found such a good hair salon on my in my town. I love the service, the people and price. I go every once in awhile and always leave happy. Last time I went, I even got $5 off next hair cut from my hair stylist. They are there to please and they definitely make me happy. I also believe that haircuts shouldn't break your wallet/purse. Their prices are reasonable and fair. Ladies, if you get your eye brows shaped, definitely ask for Varsha at this salon. She does such a good job. I went here recently and I was out in a few minutes and she does it painlessly. The only thing is that it's $10. Hope they reduce the price soon. I recently went here for a cut and I did not leave happy. I came in with very long straight hair, almost down to my waist. I have very thick hair as well. I showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted. Granted, I never expect the outcome to be exactly like the picture. Basically, it was long layers, with long side swept bangs that blends in with the layers. I wanted soft cut ends bc I don't like blunt choppy cuts. I asked for maybe 3-4 inches off (below my bra line) because I didn't want my hair to be cut short. Let me tell you, my hair did not look ANYTHING like the picture I showed her. Not even a little bit. It was short, below my shoulders at the start of my bra straps. There were no layers, and it was very choppy. Looked like she ran the scissors right across my hair. I was very unhappy. She did a blow out to hide the fact that the ends of my hair wasuneven and choppy. They charged me $35 due to my hair being long which is more affordable than other places I've gone to. But honestly, I should have spent a few extra bucks to go to a professional place. I wanted to like this place bc of it's affordable prices and the people were nice but I was not happy with my cut. Maybe you'll have better luck with a different hairdresser or a different salon. The hairdresser I had was young (around 25-28 yrs old), with a European accent. I will have to grow out my hair a little to get it fixed elsewhere. read more

This place is really great. I'm extremely extremely picky about my hair, and wanting it a very specific way, and they do a great job! They do everything from "It works" wraps for super cheap, to hair cuts, highlights, men's cuts, Keratin treatments, perms, eyebrows, they can do extensions, they have a massage therapist on site, they offer so so so much for very reasonable prices. I've sat in nearly all the chairs, and every girl is so professional and nice. They've got a lot of experienced women who listen and do exactly what you ask for. I'm about to get my hair done here for my wedding Next weekend- top notch. read more

I've been coming here for a while, including my two teens. Always courteous and accommodating, especially all the ladies who have cut the kids hair. Adjusting here and there until they are happy. Very upset with my hair cut, done by Vicky. I asked for a long bob with a face frame. I was given long layers in addition, which is not what I asked for. It was marketed as costing $29, I did not need my hair washed and asked for only a cut and dry. We were charged $35. I will not be returning to Cuts For 'U, I'll be sure to go to Pro Hair Cutters, who charges $28 for a wash, cut and dry. Not only are their prices good but their hair cuts/styles end up looking nice and the way you want it. read more

I just moved to the area and was looking for a new place to get my hair done. I was hesitant at first, because I get quite a bit done to it--cut, shaped, long layers, face frame/partial bang, high lights, low lights and underneath is full black. I gave Cuts for U a try because I pass it every day, as I live nearby. They were open on a Monday, which was awesome, since no other salons tend to stay open on Mondays, and when I called at 4:30pm to see if I could come in an hour earlier (I had time to kill) they said no problem and took me right away! While the place is not super fancy on the inside, as many salons are, everything was going well while I was there, and the price ended up being VERY affordable! The last place I used to get the same thing done to my hair used to cost me literally twice as much, and the end result wasn't even as good as it was from Cuts For U. I forget the name of the stylist who did my hair, but she was very nice, personable and knowledge--and obviously talented, as I was very happy with the result. I'll definitely be going back here and I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new salon and/or anyone who is looking to save money on their hair while maintaining the same results/fashion! read more

I've always gotten a good cut, the woman who does threading is very good, and the man who cut my daughters hair when we donated it was very friendly. This will be my first review ever. I was at a wedding recently and saw the brides and the bridal parties make up and I instantly asked one of the girls did you all get your make up done at the same place. She said as a matter fact we did so I asked and got the information. I called over to cuts for u and made an appointment with a Maria. Upon arriving to the salon I was instantly greeted by the owner Lucy who said Maria will be with me in a minute so I sat down . I must say the owner was more than pleasant. As I sat in Maria chair i began to tell her that I'm recently divorced and I'm going on a date in a week and I haven't really done my make up but I did see her work at a wedding and I was wondering if you could help me ? I'm a little insecure and she said that it said i was in great hands I'll show you everything you need to know . She went over different colors that go with my skin complexion she gave me knowledgeable tips on how to cleanse my skin thinking I knew what I was doing prior lol . well after it was over my makeup looked amazing I almost weld up and she said don't cry please you'll ruin my work. I asked her if I can stop back next Saturday to show her how my make up look before my first date and I did she said I did a great job and you look amazing !!!!! I can't stress enough how grateful I am that I went to that wedding alone saw the girls make up and that i obtained info to meet Maria and Lucy and I will be back for a haircut as well I felt like I was home!!!!! read more

I have been going to this Salon for about a year and always had a great haircut until last week. The stylist who normally cuts my hair is out for 3 months and I was scheduled to have my hair cut by someone else. I did not realize the stylist just started working there so I never got a chance to meet her before that day. She did ask me how I wanted my haircut and I explained to her what does not work well with my hair and she understood what I wanted, as I thought she did. I asked for light, long layers, not short layers in the back. I remember stopping her at least twice repeating what I want and what I do not want. I was having an awful feeling this haircut was going to be horrible and it was! When she finished drying my hair , it was a horrible blow out, my bangs she did not trim right and left hanging in my eyes and she did not take the time or energy as to how my hair was going to look. My hair looked horrible!!! I expressed my total dissatisfaction as to my style and asked to see the back of my hair and she butchered the back with all these short layers that I clearly did not want! I was beside myself as to how this new stylist could have no regard for how I was going to look and in my opinion should not be cutting hair! My experience did not end there. They pulled another stylist away from her client to give me a "hurry up" fix it job and she did fix my bangs but then she started thinning my hair without even asking me and rush me out of the chair so she could go back to her client. I called the Salon the very next day and scheduled another appointment to fix the "butch haircut" that this new girl had given me. I did go to the salon for a second time and the stylist they scheduled me with as so sweet and she took the time to review the horrible haircut from before and she found so many mistakes and she had to cut my hair shorter just to try and even things out. She did the best she could but this is NOT the haircut that I initially went to this Salon for. The only thing I have to do is wait for my hair to grow out! read more

My son was leaving for college today, and he informed me yesterday afternoon (Sunday) that he needed a hair cut while we were out doing errands. Not good timing. He called his usual place and couldn't get an appointment, so we did an internet search and tried several establishments, but all were closed/closing. He is very particular with his hair and generally will only go to certain places, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Cuts For U showed on the internet as open until 6, so we drove there. I noticed the sign by the door stated the salon closed at 4 on Sundays and no customers were in the shop, but we went in anyway as we weren't sure of the time. It actually was 4 and they were closed. The woman in the shop told me she could make an appointment for another day, but I told her my son was leaving for college, thanked her and went to walk out. She called me back and said she hated to turn anyone away. She insisted she was fine with staying and cutting his hair. My son was hesitant, but it was now or wait for several weeks. He told her what he wanted, and she did a great job! She didn't rush through his hair cut, she took her time and made sure it was as he directed. We would highly recommend Donna both for her excellent hair cut and for her generosity in staying when she could easily have turned us away as did a barber shop in Rockaway Borough. Donna gave us her card-she works only Wednesdays and Sundays but we will be back! read more
