Blown away!' First time ordering from cutlery shoppe. Put my order in Tuesday night. By Wednesday it was in the mail and I received it at 1:00 pm Friday all the way in New York. And I only used the free ground shipping! Got an exclusive Spyderco military 2. They go above and beyond and they added foam inside the knife box so it doesn't bounce around. Almost $500 and more than 45 days, and they sent me the wrong knife. After almost a month waiting for my order to be shipped I call and spoke with a lady who told me that she didn't know why my order hadn't been shipped and that it would be sent out that day, and I would have it within 3-4 days. It still hadn't been shipped 5 days later, and I decided to call and cancel if it wasn't shipped by that Friday. It got labeled Thursday and shipped sometime that Friday I guess. Especially if you enjoy trying to resolve an issue with someone who hides behind small print while boasting satisfaction guaranteed then Jeff is your guy. You will get to enjoy statements like your blade (which is double edged) doesn't have the "real estate" to have a sharp edge and it's more for penetration... I am sure Jeff has stabbed several people in the back metaphorically but I bought a knife to cut with and nobody wants a dull blade straight from the factory. So what do you do when you get a dull knife and the store doesn't care? I sharpened it but that did not help anything either so I reached back out to Jeff but guess what? I placed my order and paid for it very easily and fast. Less than 12 hours later, I was sent a USPS tracking number and had the knife a few days later. Shipping was free on my order too. I cannot remember how many knives I have purchased from Jeff, almost all of which were Spyderco ones. In all cases, shipping was prompt, and a tracking number was always provided. My latest order is expected to arrive in today's mail. Christmas in September. The best thing about Cutlery Shoppe is that they offer exclusive versions of Spyderco knives, along with those from a select few other makers, with the "correct" handle color, which is, of course, orange. Its very simple" I called Jeff at the Cutlery Shoppe in Meridian Idaho and asked him if he had the new model Cold Steel tiger with the cut out next to the thumb stud? then Jeff kindly introduced himself told me about his long time family business thats been there for 30 plus yrs and then he said I'll go in the back and check and then came back to the phone and said yes I have the knife your looking for and then I said I will place my order. Jeff then kindly talked to me on the phone for 15 minutes telling me more about his family owned business and how they take pride in making their customers happy. They took my order and then later cancelled it when they didn't have enough stock to fulfill all their orders. I think it's a shady practice to oversell your inventory, especially since they are one of the larger online cutlery stores. They can't count what they have in stock and only take orders for that amount? This isn't rocket science. Also, overselling a hot item is twice is bad. I buy a hot item thinking I have one, and everybody else sells out. Then my order is cancelled and it's too late to buy it somewhere else. On Oct 6, 2014 I placed an order over the internet. I was shipping to an address other than the credit card billing address b/c the purchase was a gift and I didn't want it arriving at the house. Once the purchase was completed, I received a confirmation number. After 2 weeks of inquiring with my mother if my purchase had arrived at her location, which I specified in the order confirmation (and the b-day fast approaching), I contacted Cutlery Shoppe. I was informed that due to the different address, they did not process the order because of potential fraud purposes. REALLY, could they have not contacted me by either phone or email since they requested both when placing my order AND/OR comment on the website about their aversion to processing orders with different billing/shipment dates. This was a real inconvenience on their part and terrible customer service. Hopefully since they don't like to contact customers, they will continue their current practice(s) and not solicit any future purchase from me by any means of advertisement. H.
