I've been trying my hardest to give midtown nail salons a good review and this seems to be the closest I'll get lol Location: It's right near ga tech. In a small shopping plaza on the corner of 10th street. There is a good deal of parking but be aware there are a lot of food places so any parking traffic could be a result of it. Atmosphere: it was okay. Staff: I wasn't greeted when I came in but I did call before coming because I arrived at 430 and they closed at 5 on Sunday's. I was just thankful for someone to assist so late on a Sunday. Someone finally started my nails around 440/445 her name was Ana. Service: Not Sure if she was the owner or not but we had good convo. She definitely made me feel welcomed. She did say something a little sarcastic about the pricing "you must have been mistaken" but we cleared that up because I advised her that I called before hand and pointed to the rep that advised of the pricing. I've been stalking this particular nail color for a few weeks so Them having it made it all better. I got acrylic overlay and just regular polish. I'm use to them looking very similar to my real nails - very thin. Only one place - capital has been able to accomplish this look and I'll have to say I may have to just drive to sandy springs. My pedi was good as well. Toe nails cut a little too short but I felt it was an ok experience. Overall, if you are not a perfectionist like me - they did a great job. I'll most likely go back and be more specific and make sure earlier this time because it took about 2 hours! read more

Just walked in at 10:25 to try to get my nails done. The doors were unlocked but the lights were off and no one was inside.

Moved to the area recently and will not be returning. very run down looking salon but i figured hey It must be really cheap and looks like it's black owned(many black employees) so that enticed me to stay unfortunately i was there for about 3 hours (wasn't busy so why so long? because they are very slow) paid for a gel pedicure ($43) about average to what i pay although my usual salon gives us wine and is much nicer ambience for same price then got just gel polish on my natural nails no tip or acrylic whatsoever & It was $20. they should charge $12-15 MAX for gel polish paint job. they didn't have white color acrylic so i couldn't get an overlay like i normally would.. the employees were very nice just move a little slow. and my nails were done yesterday poorly and are already turning colors i'll have to get them fixed elsewhere tomorrow thus a true waste of money. read more

This small nail shop is really underrated. While nothing fancy, the work and polishes are quality. My non -gel and gel manicures and pedicures last a long time - more than other, seemingly nicer places I've experienced. Again, it's not a fancy shop but the prices reflect that too. The pedicure chairs are in need of updates. The wait can be long as there's usually only 2-3 employees, but I've gotten lucky. You can always call ahead. I went here a while ago but I honestly have never gone Back. They were packed which I understand. Waited for almost an hour, which happens. I guess the management felt bad so they had a girl do my nails who clearly had no idea how to do an acrylic set. She did my left hand and then once another lady was free she did my other. It was like night and day. I later went to another salon with a friend and the nail tech told me how awful of a job was done and pointed out the air pockets/bubbles in the acrylic set and told me how it causes bacteria build up that causes infections.... Long story short I paid for a faulty manicure, and would of rather waited for someone who knew how do do my nails... I'm now sticking with the new salon. It is unfortunate I have to only give 2 stars. I went in originally to get my toe nail fixed because I had gotten them done at another salon but messed up my big toe while running errands. The older lady in the front repainted it free of charge, and was such a sweetheart (she gets 5 stars from me) my problem was with my eyebrow wax. When I went in the back room there was no real conversation. She didn't ask how I like my brows or anything, and they ended up a little thin for my liking. But I will take the blame for that. I should have spoke up and asked. MY REAL PROBLEM is I have these huge scabs on my face. My eyebrows/eyelids were very sensitive to touch throughout the day. Slight burning sensation. My friend and I were in Atlanta for a weekend and decide to get pedicures and manicures. This was the most affordable option (by Georgia tech) and had really good reviews. The salon is very clean and is well maintained. I did the $35 combo which included steaming, scraping and exfoliating. I haven't had such an in depth affordable pedicure and manicure before; they were so nice and even put oil on my toes and wrapped them before helping me get my feet back in my shoes. I have to agree that with the staff they could have run the foot spa and let us getting our toes done soak longer. The calluses sure could use the extra time. I scheduled an appointment for a manicure and pedicure (12 noon). I received a call from the nail technician at 12:05 explaining that she was getting off from work and would arrive in 30 minutes. I advised that I would not be able to wait and she asked if I could "run an errand" and return. I advised that I did not want to run an errand in the rain and if I left it would be to return home. She then mentioned that she asked another employee to perform the services earlier in the week, but was not sure if she was en route. I advised that it would have been better to know this earlier. I came here right before vacation for a gel mani and literally in three days the color just peels right off. I ended up getting a gel polish (change) while on vacation in Florida. Which actually was over three weeks ago and the color is still on me. Nothings changed in my personal use of my hands. It's just unfortunately the quality of the gel polish and base that never last me more than a week. So excited to discover my all time favorite nail specialist at her own salon in the Ga Tech area. Anna, formerly with a Va High salon, just started her place at Cutie Salon & Spa. The salon is bright and spic and span clean. I love the natural light from the wall of windows. She does all the latest nail techniques: SNS, gel polish (my favorite), diamond, silk, French, designs and acrylics. I have been going to Anna for the past 2 years, basically twice a month for gel mani-pedis and can attest that her work is always flawless. She is meticulous and my nails up& down stay perfect even if I wait 3 weeks between - a little extra cuticle shows but the nails look great. The salon staff is friendly and professional & the store is spacious and open. They also offer waxing and special pricing for child mani-pedis. This was my first visit and I'm sad to say it was the worst manicure I've ever received. Went for a simple SNS and ended up being there for 2hours and 20min leaving with botched nails. My technician was late, she had no idea what she was doing, the establishment was rundown and the materials used were not well kept (utensils didn't even look sanitized). My nails were bubbled, painted sloppy, and they didn't even end up drying so the top coat had to be buffed off. For a $40 SNS this was unexpectedly horrific. Luckily, everyone was nice, just not professionals. I could've done my own SNS at home and gotten a better result. My nails were ratchet looking and I made a impulse decision to get my nails done in Midtown Atlanta, since I was at work. I did a quick Yelp search and an ad for Qutie Nails and Spa popped up. I don't usually fall for ads, but after reading reviews and calling up the place and finding out that the prices here are very competitive for the Midtown Atlanta/Georgia Tech area, I decided to take a chance. Qutie Nails and Spa opened a couple months ago and is located in the same shopping center as Sublime Doughnuts and Lucky Buddha (for those who went to Tech and are familiar with crappy Chinese food) - it is very accessible from the Georgia Tech campus, making this a perfect and affordable spot for college students wanting a gel manicure! At the time of this review, the gel manicure is $27 and includes removal of your old polish or gel polish. If you are a student and have a valid student ID, you get 10% off. If you pay in cash, you get another 10% off. Total before tips for a solid manicure comes out to a little over $21. If you want nail art, it's an extra $5 per finger. Coming from New York City, these prices for a gel manicure are more than fair - I pay upwards of $30-40 before tax and tip for a one color gel manicure in NYC. Though I did have a small wait while Anna was doing someone else's polish change, she kept me comfortable throughout the whole process. I usually hate talking to manicurists, but she was very nice and we had a pleasant conversation throughout my manicure. She is attentive and caters to your needs - we spent some time browsing Google images together looking for a decent design for my accent nail, which came out exactly as I wanted it! If there were any imperfections, she was quick to fix it. Great friendly attentive staff and very reasonable and competitive prices to the rest of Midtown. I would return. read more

I've been here a few times because it's cheap but the work isn't always the best and today sealed the deal for me never coming back. They claim to open at 10, I got there at 10:15 and the door was locked. I called and someone came to open the door and ask what services I wanted. I said color change, full set and eyebrows. Apparently the person who can do full set won't be there for another 30-45 minutes?! So you're not actually open then. Today I was my first time visiting this place, and I can tell you now that I will be returning to this nail shop. When I first walked in I noticed that it the place was very clean and neat. All the booths and spa seats matched and the radio was blasting. What I find interesting is that they were playing a pop radio station, which was amazing because on the way to the nail shop I just knew that it was going to be a boring hour. Well moving forward, my nail tech was named anie (Annie) she spoke broken English but she attempted to keep the conversation rolling and I thought that was brave and nice of her. During the month of March they are giving all clients 2free designs. So I got the stiletto nails and a really cute feather design. Also, a fill-in cost $16.00 (wow) After I got my nails done, by the way turned out really pretty. I got my eyebrows waxed by anie for $8.00. Anie did a really good job.
