She listened well and worked with us to make sure we were getting the best results for our budget. I didn't have to worry, and the flowers looked great the entire day.

She talked through her portfolio, and then we talked about my wedding, the feel I wanted to create, my colors, and then I showed her a few pictures of things that I liked that I found in magazines. She asked me what my budget was, and then she talked through some of her ideas that all fit within my budget. Fantastic! She even recommended a place where she knew we could buy the cheapest votive candles for the reception tables. She saved us a lot of money, and she did an amazing job. The bouquets, boutonierres, and centerpieces she created were beautiful and far surpassed my expectations. She did a great job and for a great price. She was also very professional, and returned emails promptly and always answered each of my questions. I can't say enough good things. As an event professional it can be stressful creating an event that will be in such a public space, but Katie has an infectiously happy energy that made everyone want to talk to her about her display and her designs, and her aesthetic made photographing her creation fun for me as well! When things started to take on a life of their own, we hired Katie to come on board and see our vision through. She probably saved our soon-to-be-marriage. We were going crazy with planning, and we couldn't possibly handle all of the little details ourselves. Enter Katie. Not only did she help us maintain our sanity, but she also has amazing style. The "look" of our wedding was very, very important to us. We didn't trust anyone else to interpret our day except Katie, and that trust wasn't misplaced. Everyone said that our wedding decor was some of the coolest they'd ever seen. Katie took our ideas and perfected them! She listened to our wants and needs. She never made us feel like a burden. She had 2-hour long email conversations with me about doilies. As a wedding professional myself (I'm a photographer), I've seen my fair share of terrible coordinators. Katie is a shining star, and there is no one else with her dedication and her style in Chicago. I can't even begin to express what a smart investment Katie is. Hire her... FAST!

I had come to accept that I was marrying an artist with unique ideas, so I let her run with it. Davenport Design took my wife's concepts and made masterful displays. Not only did they create beautiful settings, their price was far more reasonable than the other florist my wife approached for a quote. I knew she was thrilled with Davenport Design's work but I didn't realize exactly how much until last week when she sent them a gift card to a restaurant as a thank you for greatly exceeding her expectations. Carl and Scott made our wedding day more beautiful and made my wife very happy.

It simply said, "This is gorgeous!!" Well, I take that back- I knew before then. I had worked with them for many events previously when working for a former employer planning their large fundraising galas. In that role I used them for at least 5 of our large galas and was always impressed. It was Davenport Designs' professionalism, ease to work with and extreme talent that made them my first choice for doing the flowers for my big day. However, I must admit that they did far exceed my already high expectations of them. Having an arts background, visuals are very important to me and to nobody's surprise I had a definite vision for the ceremony and reception decor. The look combined elements of both a woodland and vintage design theme (which prompted a look of doubt from my then-fiancé). Their execution was elegant, creative and nothing short of breathtaking. This wasn't your typical vase of flowers at the center of each table like most wedding receptions. These were a work of art. The ceremony back drop was equally stunning and provided a focal point like no other. Davenport Design is amazing to work with from start to finish. Thinking about how beautiful they made our venue still makes me smile.

Their prices were very, very affordable compared to another place I had contacted. And the final result looked great! There was much more lighting than I expected. I had thought that the contract listed lighting for the ceremony and dance floor, but they lit the ENTIRE space, which is what I wanted, but assumed I couldn't afford. It looked breathtaking. My stomach flipped when the bus rounded the corner and we caught a glimpse of the room glowing from the outside. I recommend that all New Leaf brides get lighting if they can swing it. Like the "candle treatment," it's a worthy investment. We also ordered arm chairs and end tables from Ivan Carlson. Our sales rep, Haley Achermann, was very patient with my ever-changing furniture orders as I figured out the best layout for our event. She also allowed me to make changes to my contract without penalty, which is wonderful to me. And we conducted all of our business via e-mail, which is cool when you're planning your wedding between meetings and deadlines.

Chase made a complimentary center piece while we are having the tasting with the cater and it was beautifully done. I made an appointment with him, and soon realized that he is an excellent designer and understood me very well . I wanted something classy, earthy, modern and traditional at the same time that include all these 5 elements: water, fire, wood, earth, metal. Good luck for Chinese standard. He is so nice to talk to, I showed him a couple pics of the design I like and he immediately came up with several brilliant ideas for my wedding. The second appointment, he made me a sample centerpiece, I was amazed! I was talking to another florist and they gave me a $1000 less price, but Chase's design was at least 100 times better. I end up paying over $5K for the wedding including ceremony and reception and it was totally worth every penny. On the wedding day, some small items were not delivered by the company, but Chase gave me a full refund for all the items that were missed. The very ornate bird cage design with branches and butterflies is now reserved by the reception venue Golden Triangle, because the owners loved them. I cannot be happier with Chase.
