I had the opportunity to photograph an awesome event that Katie curated for Macy's on State Street over the 2017 holiday season. As an event professional it can be stressful creating an event that will be in such a public space, but Katie has an infectiously happy energy that made everyone want to talk to her about her display and her designs, and her aesthetic made photographing her creation fun for me as well! If you're looking for an amazing planner that is as enthusiastic about your event as you are, is put together, and fun to be around... Jayne Weddings is one of the best! read more

My only regret with hiring Katie from Jayne Weddings is that we didn't bring her on from the very beginning and involve her much more. When things started to take on a life of their own, we hired Katie to come on board and see our vision through. She probably saved our soon-to-be-marriage. We were going crazy with planning, and we couldn't possibly handle all of the little details ourselves. Enter Katie. Not only did she help us maintain our sanity, but she also has amazing style. The "look" of our wedding was very, very important to us. We didn't trust anyone else to interpret our day except Katie, and that trust wasn't misplaced. Everyone said that our wedding decor was some of the coolest they'd ever seen. Katie took our ideas and perfected them! She listened to our wants and needs. She never made us feel like a burden. She had 2-hour long email conversations with me about doilies. As a wedding professional myself (I'm a photographer), I've seen my fair share of terrible coordinators. Katie is a shining star, and there is no one else with her dedication and her style in Chicago. I can't even begin to express what a smart investment Katie is. Hire her... FAST! read more

We hired Jayne Weddings to help with our wedding at the end of July 2017. We interviewed a few other planners, but decided to go with Jayne Weddings after talking with Katie on the phone. She had experience with food truck weddings and had worked with Big Star before, which was one of the trucks we were looking into to cater dinner. We chose their month of coordination package and felt so relieved and excited when Nicole stepped in towards the end of June. Nicole really understood our vision from the beginning and we took a lot of her suggestions throughout the planning process. Throughout July, she handled all of our vendors and met with us a few times...was constantly checking in and making sure that we felt good about everything. It was so nice to know we had someone else to make sure we weren't forgetting about any of the little details! On the day of, I had two girls from her team with my bridesmaids and I when we were getting ready at the hotel. They made sure we were staying on time and helped us out in so many ways! Before the ceremony and during the reception, the rest of their team was so helpful too. They even packed up all of the food/alcohol leftovers and decor and into our car at the end of night! I was unsure about hiring a wedding planner at first, so we decided to go with the month of coordination and it was one of our best decisions! Made the day and month before so easy and stress-free. Would definitely recommend Jayne Weddings to others! read more

i could tell you a bunch of things about Katie and her team, but you might not believe me. would you believe that, one week before our wedding and two days before we were scheduled to drop decor off at Katie's house, she gave birth to her gorgeous son? would you believe that she emailed me about going into labor from her hospital bed? would you believe that we dropped the decor off, like, one hour after she and her husband brought the baby home from the hospital? THIS is how cool Katie is. she is the most calm, collected human being i have ever met. believe it or not. we hired Jayne Weddings early in the game just for setup and tear down of the decorations i had. we spoke to several planners-- Jayne Weddings was the most reasonably priced for what we needed (i think we actually robbed them?), and actually the coolest. she asked thoughtful questions on the initial interview and really seemed interested in my fiancé's and my story. as Katie had a baby literally days before our wedding, she had Caroline running the show on the day of our event (and had planned for her to be there just in case of this exact thing). Caroline is some kind of tiny, spritely art genius-- she pulled off our vision for our dinner and reception setups, making everything look even better that i had imagined in my dreams. i had not one single worry on the day of our wedding, and i have Katie and Caroline to thank. you definitely need to hire Jayne Weddings. they are spectacular, and took care of every minute detail. i would unequivocally hire them again. read more

We hired Jayne Weddings for month-of coordination, and we seriously owe the perfection of our wedding day to Katie, Caroline, and their team. There were so many questions that I would not have even THOUGHT to ask myself that they were so on top of. I did not have to think at all on the big day, and all the details came together so perfectly. Katie and Caroline just had a way of knowing how to put things together that made our day effortless. BONUS: Caroline took an amazing Instagram story that followed us throughout the day - I keep rewatching it, as we anxiously await our photos! read more

We hired Katie as the month-of coordinator and event designer for our wedding. We had a great experience working with Katie and her team at Jayne events -- we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding planner, event planner, or event designer. When we met Katie, we had already found most of our vendors We needed someone who could help us bring it all together as we approached our wedding day. She helped refine our color palette and design choices, then took the lead on sourcing everything needed for the day of the wedding. She had some great creative suggestions for things like signage and table decor. Katie was especially awesome on our wedding day. Her calm demeanor and careful attention to detail gave us peace of mind. Both our families commented on how her team was friendly and easy to work with. And at least someone from her team was there ALL day - Caroline arrived to the venue even before we did and was on hand starting at 10am in case we needed anything while getting ready in the Bridal Suite. We had the ceremony and reception in a single venue, which was pretty much at capacity, so there was a lot to coordinate and a lot of little things that could have "gone wrong." Thankfully the Jayne Events team was on top of everything. Another thing that was really helpful... Katie and Rachel stayed until the very end, and handled clean up and load out so that we could leave and enjoy the after party with friends and family. Also, we loved the Instagram story that Caroline filmed throughout the whole day, capturing all the little details that we were too busy to notice or savor! We couldn't be happier with Katie and her team. Thanks to them, we were able to just enjoy our wedding day. read more

There is no way our wedding would have been half as beautiful and amazing without Katie at Jayne Weddings! From the very first meeting to our last, she helped me organize every detail and bring our vision to life. With the help of Aged Vintage Rentals (her brother's company - http://www.agedrentals.com/) Katie used her creative background and ability to bring little unexpected touches together in a way that turned a completely bare loft into our vintage dream come true. Everything from hung window panes to frame the alter to beautiful tufted furniture for our little "lounge" area made the space feel cozy and unique. I would give Katie ten stars if I I could and absolutely recommend her to anyone to help make your day (whatever the occasion) completely special and absolutely yours. Thanks Katie from Lindsey and Dave! read more

Jayne Weddings was one of the best decisions/money spent on my wedding. I was planning a wedding in Chicago from Seattle in 5 months time with no plan to visit Chicago before our big day. Katie, at Jayne Weddings is amazing. She is organized and very detailed with a creative eye. She helped with the catering contract, made sure all my vendors showed up, and that my guests were taken care of. But more importantly she made sure that I didn't have to worry about a thing. Which I didn't! I keep reliving my wedding through pictures and videos and how amazing of a day it was. Thanks to Jayne Weddings for making this all possible! Seriously the best decision EVER! read more

We used Katie and her team for our wedding this last fall at a brand new venue. From day one, Katie and Caroline were there to answer any questions and help us along the way (we had no idea what we were doing). As someone who never wanted a large wedding, I'm glad we did and I'm SO glad we chose Jayne Weddings for our planner. I can't even imagine how stressed out I would have been without them. They truly have all the bases covered, and on topics I never even would have thought may have been an issue. The day of the wedding, her entire team was seamless and helped out wedding be everything we had ever dreamed I'd. I would recommend Katie and her team to anyone planning their wedding (and I trust me, have!) read more

Working with Jayne Weddings was definitely one of the highlights of the entire wedding planning experience. As a creative, DIY-type of bride, I couldn't have picked a better vendor to help me bring my artistic ideas to life and come up with bigger, better and more awesome ideas than I could have ever come up with. The lead designer, Katie Jayne, was an incredibly responsive, helpful, creative, fun, friend to work with while planning my wedding. She gave us insight into what works best for weddings, where to find the best deal, advice on the elements we made DIY and helped us create a beautiful and unique decoration/vibe for the wedding. On top of that, she coordinated the day-of, bringing ease to my family and myself on our big day as well as managing the vendors so everything ran smoothly. I would recommend Jayne Weddings to any bride that's interested in bringing a creative, unique spin on the traditional wedding. They are amazing! read more

I was lucky enough to work with Katie on a shoot recently and the details she put together were amazing. She was like a breath of fresh air when it came to the idea, location, and overall end result. To top it all off she was so nice and easy to work with, too. Katie is very talented at what she does, and I am glad I got the opportunity to work with her. I hope I get the chance to do so again in the future! read more

I recently got married in Sonoma, CA at Gundlach Bundschu Winery and luckily Katie Jayne was available for the weekend! From the moment we started talking about the plans, I knew Katie would be awesome to work with...actually I think she was more excited than I was for the big day :) She made all my wedding dreams come to life and made my planning and especially the week of so enjoyable and non-stressful. Everyone asks me, so were you able to enjoy your time in CA or was it crazy busy and honestly, everything was so well taken care of that it felt weird going on a honeymoon after such a relaxing weekend. The best part was that Katie listened to all my questions, opinions and ideas about the big day and was able take them all with excitement and enthusiasm and make them into something I didn't even know what possible. Sound like an exaggeration but seriously, my wedding day was so magical, I had no idea it could have gone off so perfectly, especially it being destination. Another bonus, Katie worked so well with all my vendors for the big day that they were all saying, hey...how lucky are you to have Katie!? Where did you find her?! Thanks, Katie! Sarah read more

If you're on the fence about hiring someone for your wedding or if you're researching to find the best person for the job, then you are done-- Jayne Weddings is it! My now husband and I knew we wanted to to design and create our decorations and atmosphere for the wedding ourselves. We not only wanted to save some money but we wanted our wedding to feel like us. The more we started doing, the more overwhelmed we felt. It's going ok now but what and how were we going to set everything up the day off, have the evening run smoothly and actually get to enjoy the wedding? We decided to look into hiring a month-of-coordinator--Best decision ever! Katie was so attentive, so nice, very organized, creative and most importantly took the time to understood our vision and executed everything perfectly. I honestly don't know what we would have done if we didn't hire her. read more

I wish I could give Jayne Weddings 10 stars. I started working with Katie Jayne 9 months ago on the design blueprint and month-of coordination of our wedding which was this past Saturday. From the get-go, Katie was incredible to work with. She was so quick to answer emails and made me feel like her only client throughout the process. I basically went to Katie with some images of art and weddings that I thought were cool and she took my random thoughts and went wild. Not only did she help execute a GORGEOUS wedding, but she helped me build a team of top notch vendors all within my budget. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next, Katie was right there to answer my questions and to put me at ease. Her knowledge of catering and weddings from various viewpoints was priceless and helped us so much at every step along the way. The day of the wedding went flawlessly. If things went wrong, I had no idea because the Jayne Weddings team was all over it. All in all, I can't come up with the words to explain how incredible it was working with Jayne Weddings and am confident in saying that she is worth every penny and more. read more

Katie Jayne from Jayne Weddings is the world's best wedding planner. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my wedding, but hiring her was the best decision we made in the entire wedding process. We hired her as a 30 day out coordinator and for her creative consultation. She was amazing from our first meeting right to the end. I wanted to do a lot of DIY projects for the wedding to save money, but I am not a creative person at all. Her vision helped me pull it together. She never tired or complained about my never-ending emails and questions. And from 30 days out, I didn't have to worry about a thing with my vendors - she flawlessly executed the coordination, setup, and styling of all of our DIY wedding elements. On the day of, I literally didn't worry about a thing. Her & her staff managed the day from A to Z. It was SO nice to have her tell us what to do when and manage the schedule, and all we had to worry about was enjoying the wedding day. In addition, her brother owns Aged Vintage Rentals. We hosted a huge chocolates display for the favor table (the groom's family owns a chocolate store) and Katie styled it PERFECTLY with a bunch of stuff rented from AVR. Katie is super sweet, professional, and fun to work with. Every vendor praised how much they enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend her! And to boot - her amazing styling helped get our wedding featured on Style Me Pretty. Woohoo! http://jayneweddingsblog.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/andrea-eric-an-ostoff-affair/ read more

We worked with Katie as a month of coordinator for our wedding in May and had a fantastic experience. She was a joy to work with, quickly got our vision, executed better than we could have imagined and gave us such peace of mind so we could completely relax and enjoy every minute of the big day. I'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat! read more

Jayne Weddings was the perfect match for our needs for our wedding this past June. We knew going into the planning process that we definitely wanted a coordinator so we would not have to worry about the details on the day of our wedding. After initially meeting with Katie, we were very pleased that she was able to cater her services to our needs. We were a fairly hands on with our own creative vision & decorating ideas and with her vast experience in the market, she was able to help us enhance our vision while at the same time letting us "do our own thing." We used her team for the month of coordination and her assistant, Nicole for the day of. We could not be happier with how our day went and I believe we owe a very big thank you to both Nicole and Katie for all of their hard work. From the details I did not see to the efforts I witnessed (blowing up 15 ginormous balloons with 7ft tassels). There is no way I could have executed this wedding on my own and am incredibly glad that we chose Jayne Weddings. read more

Brides always say that their best advice they can give a future bride is to hire a wedding planner.....do it....and then hire Katie! Whether you need full on assistance, to month of help to anything and everything in between (literally, EVERYTHING)....Katie and her team does it all! And they are just the best. I chose a bespoke package with Katie so she helped with vendor recommendations in the beginning and then full on support/coordination for the month of. In the beginning, it can be really overwhelming to select the best vendors....and she did just that. Honestly, she got me in touch with THE BEST florist, caterer and cake decorator....all of whom beyond exceeded my expectations. To have Katie and her team handle all little details and vendor coordination the month of was seriously the smartest decision I've ever made. She made the month of my wedding so relaxed and carefree that I was able to enjoy every second of it which I think some brides miss out on because of stress. I was so relaxed on my wedding day because I knew that everything was going to be perfect because of her and her fantastic staff. I didn't have to think about a thing other than marrying my best friend. Annnddd....she's so crafty and can help with design and creating projects. I told you...she does it all! Oh....and did I mention that Katie is just fabulous to work with. I definitely adore here and admire her. She's such a professional and is so amazing at what she does that it just put me at ease. I felt so confident and relaxed the entire time and it was honestly because of her and her team. They're just the best in Chicago. Katie should definitely be your first call once you get engaged....it will be life changing. Thank you so much...from the bottom of my heart to Jayne Weddings for honestly making my wedding perfect. read more

I interviewed several wedding planners, and ultimately decided to go with Katie and her team. My husband and I hired her to take care of everything, from design through implementation. The wedding was perfect - exactly what we wanted, as if she could see the pictures in our brains and made come to life. She also told us what we could live without or wouldn't really notice to help us stay in our budget (or as close to our budget as possible). Our friends and family told us it was the best wedding they ever attended - and with a lot of family, that is one heck of a lot of weddings. If we could give her more than 5 stars, we would. read more

Katie and the Jayne Weddings team are unbelievably talented, as well as professional and so fun to work with. We hired Jayne Weddings for "month-of planning" (as opposed to the full planning package) and Katie was everything we could have hoped for and more! She of course was organized and detail-oriented, but we were equally impressed by her creative and artistic eye, her ideas for further decor to match our feeling/atmosphere, and her infectious love for all things wedding :) We had such a wonderful experience working with her!!! Whether you want someone to help you with the planning from day one (which a friend of ours did with Jayne Weddings and her wedding was AMAZING), or someone to help with last minute decor and running the trains on the wedding weekend, hire Katie and Jayne Weddings! :) read more

Katie planned my daughter's wedding in May. It was absolutely the best decision we made throughout the whole process. She made sure every detail was taken care of, she nudged my daughter to keep things on track when she needed to, and really put together the most beautiful and creative wedding I could of ever imagined. I was able to relax and enjoy the day, it was amazing. She also worked within our budget - which wasn't very big, but still provided the most wonderful event. I can't thank her enough. read more

We got engaged in October 2013. We both live in Atlanta but I am from Chicago and knew we would have our wedding there. We wanted a June wedding in 2014 so we had to plan quickly from afar. Luckily my cousin is a wedding photographer in the city and she knows the wedding industry there very well. Katie from Jayne Weddings came highly recommended as a wedding planner from my cousin. We were even more thrilled to learn that Katie is so creative...she designed amazing decor for us like our pinwheel ceremony backdrop in our wedding colors and personalized table numbers with our childhood pictures. I would find neat things I liked online that were unfortunately out of my budget and Katie would make them for me within my budget :-) I absolutely loved everything she made! Katie is very prompt with correspondence and is such a friendly and cool individual! She works with you to make things efficient, convenient, and stunningly beautiful!!! read more

Katie and Jayne Weddings helped me with my wedding last April and did an fantastic job. They were attentive and patient with all of my wants and needs, even as they changed over time. My mom and I wanted to do a lot of the decor elements ourselves, but didn't have the time to make everything and definitely couldn't do the set-up/take-down. It was so nice to be able to depend on Jayne Weddings to take care of it for us and I really appreciated the flexibility with regards to the pieces of wedding planning we wanted and the pieces we didn't need. Jayne Weddings actually worked with us to do our flowers too. Katie was already booked the day of my wedding, so her assistant, Nicole, did our set-up and take-down. She brought everything to our location, which was a bit of a hike from Chicago. She set-up all of the tables, decorations and the ceremony as well. She was prompt and finished well within the timeframe our venue allotted. I barely knew she was there other than the fact that everything looked great! The bridesmaids had just bunches of lavender, which turned out to be a little wilted, because of the warm day, but the bridal bouquet was stunning! It was way more than I could expect without hiring a florist. I can't say enough how great it was knowing someone would be there early to set everything up and stay late to take it all down and keep everything to return to me later. Not having to worry about anything the day of is definitely worth the investment. read more
