Nicole worked with me over several meetings to help me bring my vision to life. She had amazing creative ideas that I would have never thought of on my own and really understood what we were going for. They hung florals, disco balls, and even chandeliers over our dance floor, creating the most stunning environment. Colleen, who handled a lot of the floral sourcing, even included some beautiful blooms from her personal garden in our arrangements. It was such a special touch. I agreed to work with Nicole on 2/23/24 and paid her $2,000 based on her assurance that there would be no issue securing sponsors and selling tickets. However, after more than four months had passed, there were no sponsorships or tickets sold and for that reason, I had to cancel the event, which was only two and a half months away. Here were two assurances in her contract: Create impactful promotional content Assist in sponsorship level creations & materials While I can't prove if the promotional content was impactful, it certainly didn't appear so given there were no sponsorships or tickets sold. And while she did create sponsorship materials, they clearly weren't helpful either in terms of selling tickets or securing sponsors. She also said that she had previously hosted a fundraiser for the charity I was looking to raise money for, so I believed her claim that she could secure sponsors and sell tickets without a problem. When I asked why there were no sponsorships or tickets sold upon cancelling the event, she said the market was unusually bad. If that was the case, I don't see how she couldn't have known this information merely four months earlier when we agreed to work together. Is it reasonable to think that the market changed so drastically so quickly? And why didn't she tell me the market was bad sooner before she started spending more time? She could have offered me the option of requesting a refund and suggested I cancel the event some time sooner. I should also note she did not create promotional materials until 4/5/24 and did not share a task list until 4/6/24. I then waited until 5/11/24 and saw that she hadn't contacted anyone on the list yet, so I sent over 100 e-mails over the next week, but hardly received any interest. The event was scheduled for 9/16/24, and since we didn't have any sponsorships or tickets sold, I decided to cancel the event on 6/27/24. I know people don't always buy tickets early, but the fact that not a single ticket was sold made no sense. At the very least, given that she materially misrepresented what she could offer, I would think Nicole would have offered a full or partial refund or at least a credit if I agreed to work with her again, but she made no such offer. I initially communicated all of this information through the Better Business Bureau, who reached out to Nicole multiples times, but Nicole did not respond to any of their requests. If she did, then I wouldn't have written this review. read more

I cannot recommend Urban Allure highly enough! Gina and Issabelle took the reins of coordinating all the details during the last couple of months prior to my wedding. The day of the wedding, with only a few hours remaining before the ceremony, our florist (paid in full and confirmed) was a total no-show. I am overwhelmed with the depth of generosity, camaraderie and professionalism with which Gina, Issabelle, and the rest of our vendor team handled the situation. They located a replacement florist, and it was all hands on deck to get everything set up in time. Gina and Issabelle stepped up to a massive challenge in an impossible time crunch, moved mountains and made floral magic happen. Guests who heard what had happened were absolutely shocked and said they would never have known because everything they saw was so incredibly beautiful. Absolutely stunning. This has definitely taken a year for me to process but I think it's important to write because I still don't understand why we didn't vibe. May 27, 2018 My partner and I had our wedding in Room 1520. We were told we can arrive early get ready in bridal suite and if the bridal suite was messy we'd lose or deposit to have it cleaned which i was 100% ok with. two woman wedding 20+ girls it was going to be chaotic. the reason i had a day of planner was because i did not want to manage the vendors coming in as they were associates of mine. i did find myself being called out by vendors and having to do discuss things with them because they were not able to locate who was in charge. I'd send my bridesmaids to find someone and we'd have an assistant saying they were going to handle it but no one would give us a proper "it's been taken care of". As we were getting ready tours were being had of the venue which may be common but so awkward as i felt on display or having to come out the bridal suite to look for the planner or assistant. When my partner arrived she stood on the roof for almost 20 minutes awaiting our first look and i could not figure out how to get to the roof. Finally i tried going up through the bridal suite when the planner found me and seemed annoyed and said wrong way. where i explained its 94 degrees and she's been waiting 20 minutes. as my photographer said it was getting really hot up there. We did our first look and were on our way to trolley for photos where i felt the need to verify the charcuterie boards were being picked up...the assistant told me the vendor misplaced my credit card and they would cover the costs and i would give them money which was no problem but also stressed me out. when we arrived back everyone was hot and exhausted from 94 degrees in the sun and photos where i myself walked to the bar and asked if there was anyway we can be provided with ice and cups for the water we brought in. Finally ceremony happened cocktail our then dinner...I was grateful for our caterer who came to our table a few times to make sure we had beverages and weren't thirsty or needed anything. when dessert were ready we asked if the cake can be cut as it was creme brûlée and couldn't sit out long....we also had so many people in and out of bridal suite and i felt like i had to text her to see if things were getting done. I guess I honestly did not feel like a priority. I was embarrassed by having to have my bridesmaids find out what was happening literally the whole event. Communication via email was horrible. I would wait days for a response if I received them with out having to text you. Even when you explained they were going to your "junk" mail. bizarre. it does seem like nicole is a great planner which is why we hired her but a year later it still annoyed me and ultimately when i emailed her with how i felt after the fact i felt like i was the problem even though she did apologize.... i honestly think we just didn't connect or vibe. either way I wish you well on future events. read more

We got married in Feb 2018 at Room1520 and used Nicole as our DOC. Cannot say enough great things, and if she charged twice as much she would be amazing value. Nicole is extremely familiar with Room1520, so she had a lot of great insights on room layout, table setup, vendors, etc. She has also worked a lot of weddings so just generally helped us along the way with many details on timeline and décor. Leading up to the wedding Nicole coordinated all of our vendors and helped organize all other key details of the wedding. Most importantly, on the actual day of the wedding, we did not worry about a thing. We drank, mingled and danced all night, and that freedom on your wedding day is priceless. It snowed on the actual wedding day and Nicole stood outside with us to assist with awesome winter pictures. When the bride's dress got muddy before the ceremony, Nicole herself colored the dirty areas with white chalk. She was the first one there and last one to leave on the wedding day. These are just a few examples of the many times Nicole went above and beyond while working with us. I worked with Nicole at Urban Allure events this past September and I was honestly incredibly impressed by the way she runs her events. I'm an event photographer so the planner can make or break how a wedding day will go as far as we are concerned. Nicole had a flawless timeline and took my input as far as how much time I needed for portraits and travel time and accounted for every little thing on the wedding day that made everything run smoothly. We were married in Ireland this past fall, and we had a post-wedding celebration in Chicago. We met Nicole purely by chance when we visited Room 1520 on our quest for the perfect venue for our post-wedding celebration. We had a wonderful conversation and she invited me to reach out to her with any questions as we made our venue choice. She talked me through our venue decision and gave us some helpful tips even before we hired her, and by then, I was hooked. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of DIY, but did not think a planner was within our budget. Turns out, I was wrong, and Nicole was worth every penny and more. Having a stress-free celebration was very important to us, and without Nicole, this would not have been possible. She guided us to quality vendors throughout the planning process, and we ended up with the best of the best without having to research the thousands of caterers, florists, and DJs, available in Chicago. Nicole is such a calming presence, and eased my anxiety many times throughout the planning process. The best example of this would be our invitation crisis. We ordered from an online source and had an absolutely terrible experience. The vendor did not take steps to correct the problem in time for us to get our invites mailed. Nicole quickly stepped in and provided us with an alternative that allowed us to get our invites out on time. Her actions were truly above and beyond. Most importantly, our celebration...wow...just wow. It was beyond perfect. The venue looked gorgeous, the evening flowed perfectly, we did not want it to end! Nicole is INCREDIBLE! I can without a doubt say that Urban Allure Events was the most important vendor at our out-of-state wedding and played an instrumental role in our wedding weekend being perfect. I was a SUPER indecisive bride with a lot of life stressors in advance of our wedding, Nicole eased all of my concerns, answered all of our questions (on top of things we never would have thought of!) and helped us immensely through the entire planning process. As wonderful as Nicole was throughout our planning process, the coordination and organization of the UAEvents team the weekend of our wedding completely blew us away. We had a welcome party at a remote location and Nicole and Brittany set up the room for us, filled our welcome bags, and ensured that we were completely stress free for the entirety of the party. The wedding day also could not have gone more perfectly, at least from our perspective! Nicole, Brittany, and Jenny were SO organized and prepared for anything--it was amazing! They were there from the very beginning of the day to the very last minute and managed the vendor arrivals and payments, ensured our shuttles with guests made it from one incredibly rural location to another, managed guest/vendor needs, and so much more totally calmly and discretely. Communication by the UAE team was also impeccable. We were unable to have a rehearsal at our venue and they ensured our vendors, bridal party, and families knew where to be and that we all remained on schedule for the entirety of the day. From steaming dresses and decorating the venue, to the complete teardown of the venue and saving us desserts/appetizers we otherwise wouldn't have been able to enjoy, the UAE team went above and beyond. I could not believe how calm I was the day of our wedding and that is 100% due to Nicole, Brittany, and Jenny's efforts, friendliness, and organization! I wasn't sure if I was going to post a review but after seeing Cristina's review I had to. When I first talked to Nicole from Urban Allure it was through an email and it was fine but our first meeting not so great.. We had a walk thru at our venue Room 1520, I arrived maybe 10 min late because we were standing at the front door not knowing that we should go to the side door. When we met it was very informal and Nicole was not the nicest, (not one smile until the end, she was very to the point and closed off). Which I am really confused about because all her reviews talk about how nice she is... I don't want to be mean but this is your wedding day and you want people to be happy around you. Luckily I had my caterer there Lauren from Sweet Baby Ray she was GREAT, she was so on top of things and followed up so well. As for Urban Allure, I didn't hear from them until months later. I only booked Urban Allure because they came as part of the package for Room 1520. I had the day of coordinator, it states that the coordinator should follow up with you 2 MONTHS before your wedding. I was emailing and finally got a reply from my email asking for a call to check in maybe a WEEK before my wedding. I was then put with another girl who was nice and even let me drop off items with her prior to the wedding. That was the only good thing I got out of Urban Allure. My wedding was great thankfully, I put together a PowerPoint on how everything should be set up. They did set up everything great, but I had so many complaints from guests. They kept telling me that every time they asked Nicole a question she said I don't know or NO I don't have it. Then the worst part and the reason my family was so upset is because they tried to send the groomsmen down the aisle without the bridesmaids. Everyone in my wedding party said they were rushing them out and luckily my sister stopped them from doing that. My wedding was on September 1st and every time I see my family members they tell me how great my wedding was and how rude and unorganized the coordinators were. So - if you are looking for a day of coordinator I would definitely look somewhere else. My guess is that they pay more attention to those who pay for the larger packages. read more

I got married this past weekend and could not have had a "perfect" wedding without Nicole. The guests gave great feedback from the arrangement of the centerpieces to the decor setup to the overall ceremony and reception. Nicole is a life-saver. We got married a few weeks ago and she came in at the last minute, but without her our wedding would have probably been a total nightmare. Not only was she remarkably well-connected with the Chicago wedding scene (she ultimately recommended our venue, makeup artist, and photographer), but she took the time to get to know my fiancé and me, and understand our likes and dislikes. In the month leading up to the wedding, Nicole was a godsend. She streamlined much of the communication between our various vendors and created a master schedule for the entire wedding weekend--encompassing everything from the rehearsal dinner to the day-after breakfast. And during the hectic week of the wedding, Nicole kept our schedules free. She worked in the background to ensure that we could just enjoy the week and spend time with our family and friends. Nicole not only filtered out the unnecessary minutia of the pre-wedding craziness (from coordinating vendor needs to handling the placement of the centerpieces, decorations, and signage) but anticipated details that we had never even considered (like vendor meals and parking). I witnessed Nicole handle a tremendous amount of the work, and I am convinced that is only the tip of the iceberg. So much of her work and organizational genius occurs without anyone noticing. Where do I even begin? If you are unsure if a day of coordinator is worth it or necessary--believe me they are worth it! Nicole and Angie from Urban Allure were complete professionals and made sure our two day affair was seamless. I was skeptical at the beginning, but learning that they had worked with our venue and florist plus knew our photograph gave me a sense of ease. Day of coordinator doesn't mean one day of work--Nicole made herself available from day one by sharing vendors with me early in the planning and contacted me 2 months before the big day to finalize everything. The month before your wedding is so crazy, it was a huge relief that we had Urban Allure to create a detailed timeline and contact all our vendors to communicate/confirm set up/arrivals. Honestly I am probably not doing them justice, because there was a lot behind the scenes of work they did that I didn't have to worry about. At dinner the groom and I had a moment to soak in the day, and we both were extremely thankful for our dream team of vendors. However all the coordination and carrying out our wedding vision wouldn't have been possible without Nicole and Angie in charge. Nicole from Urban Allure Events in AMAZING! I wasn't sure the first thing to do when planning our wedding and hiring Nicole was the best thing I could do! Nicole and her team were so friendly, organized and comforting. They went above and beyond with every detail of the wedding! Nicole was my day of coordinator but really helped me throughout the whole planning process. She comforted me at every walk through, helped me determine seating and meal choices and was there for everything on the day of as well as the rehearsal dinner! Lastly, we had major issues with our transportation to and from the wedding, Nicole worked for months after our wedding to get our money back for all of the issues we experienced. I got married on 8/6/16 at Room1520. A beautiful venue made for an unbelievable wedding, and partnering with Nicole gave me and my breathtakingly beautiful wife the peace of mind that everything would be taken care of. We partnered with Nicole early on, and cannot say enough how awesome she was. She understood what we were going for, had answers to every single question that came up (no matter how ridiculous mine were...) and most importantly was our point person the weekend of the wedding, allowing my wife to focus on family drama, not wedding drama (kidding, but seriously... Why so much family drama around weddings?!?). Nicole accepted deliveries on our behalf, oversaw all vendors the day of, coordinated our rehearsal, made us laugh uncontrollably multiple times, and looked out for me and my wife the night of the wedding to make sure we ate and had enough booze in our systems. She brought us our own tray of apps and drinks during cocktail hour!! Nicole is awesome, knowledgeable, fun, and can lay the hammer (without you even knowing) when vendors try to deviate from the plan. I don't anticipate getting married again, so unfortunately the chances of working with Nicole are pretty slim, BUT would tell every single person I meet to bring her on board if they want a wedding executed to pure perfection. I cannot say enough good things about Nicole and Urban Allure Events! I had no idea how stressful wedding planning was, but Nicole and her team kept me calm/sane through the entire process. Nicole is one of a kind. Her attentiveness and eye for detail is unreal! She went above and beyond what any "wedding planner" would do: she picked up the bouquets, she picked up the cake, and even directed our family photos session to keep us on time. The night before our wedding, Nicole made sure that my husband and I had nothing to worry about - even offering to run our last-minute errands.
